A few years back Harley had a program that said if you buy a Sportster, you can trade it in after a year for the full purchase price. My 1st bike was an 883 which I rode for 1 year then sold it and bought my FXR and still have it for 25 years now.
I remember that!

I owned my Dyna a few years before I watched SOA , now I've seen every episode and never miss Mayans 😆 it's a great show as long as you realize it's a TV show, Nothing like the real world but definitely good entertainment

I never watched SOA, mostly because my kids were all young so we avoided sensational dramas. My Uncles were in clubs and I grew witnessing the nuance that I didn't think Hollywood could get right even though I knew some of the consultants on the series. But that's not to say I don't recognize club style bikes which were the riders in clubs building high speed functional yet fashionable sport touring Harleys. And my flannels are all brand named "I don't remember where I got that but I oughta replace it but I won't. "

This is 100% accurate. I miss my 03 wide glide and 08 Fatbob. Those were more simple days. Moved on to the bagger bro life with a 18 Street Glide Special, missed the feel of the Dyna so I tried the 20 LRS, then I missed the hard bags so I got a 22 RGST. Now I’m in limbo, cause I want something fast and Ducati has got my eye but I’m not ready to move from Harley yet… first world problems right?! lol
My response is always probably the most realistic one, which is have all of them and figure it out later
But I bought a chromed out XL883C before SOA & the 'gram existed? I knew IRL 1%ers since I was a kid. My 2nd was a chromed out XL1200C, I spent 4 years on XLs. I already knew what the different HD frames & engines were called too. My Dyna (fav style) was the pre-2014 chromed out Fat Bob. I wear boots, cheap shirts, & I never wear shorts when I ride. I traded in my Dyna (for $1K more than I paid for it) for a 107M8 Road King because of my bad back, performance was a secondary concern to comfort. Maybe I was never a Dyna Bro at all & instead I was always just a Bagger Daddy waiting to happen?

🤣🤣🤣...Great video...🤘Loved the pop up pics...couldn't stop laughing. Even though I took a different path to get to the Dyna Life...Here I am in All my Dyna Glory. New HDs are nice but I love my Dyna. She still needs a few more upgrades...but she's not too far off from the complete build I'm looking for. She may not have the performance of these newer bikes...but she Rips for the type of riding I do. In another 5-7 yrs...when I'm closing in on that 50 mark & my daughter is old enough to ride...then I'll be looking into some thing like the Road King Special, but with all the Dyna Bro upgrades...of course.

Dickie shorts,long socks and dixion flannels are older than the redwood bs. Was rocking that back in the 90s before I could legaly ride a street bike. But I have 1 question about bars what is the max on the hight of the risers? I run 18 in apes but I want to put a fairing on it. If not gunna get a road geezer glide.
That's a good question man - I know most companies who sell a one piece bar, usually it maxes out at around 15'' - I'm sure if you did the right combination of a bar/riser you could push it passed that

I Might go 143 on my new dyna down the line. But as of right now it’s holding up pretty damn good, I had to get the engine lined up with the tranny but after that it handled beautiful.
I started with a Iron 883 before SOA, then got a Road King Bagger and FINALLY switched to a FXDLS and Baby, let me tell you: Its sweet af.

Im familiar with DYNA BRODEM, through youtube but at 43 getting my first HD a FXDWG in 2021 I was not in anyway aspiring to FULL DYNA BRODEM. No Simpson but I do rock an illegal no padding 1/2 shell. No name bran flannel but if the weather is right I have one. I like my Red Vans with bubble gum soles and Red Fly gloves which my wife makes fun of both. Dark brown leather vest sometimes but Always have my long hair in a tail and flying in the wind..........PEACE OUT DYNA BROS.....may the yrs and miles be long and any drama along the way be short. I gotta go my Wide Glide is calling me.

And then, I reminded myself, this is exactly what I wanted all my effing life. And my journey started right away.
