Thanks. I may buy a 1976 C-3 from a friend. He bought the car in 1989. He is a mechanic and body man. I told him I must see that birdcage. I will reference your video when I inspect. The car is located in a Midwestern state where it snows...
Please check as that will break or make the sell! I actually have a friend selling a beautiful 79 out of Houston i believe the asking price is 15k if that is of interest.
@@c3sgarage Thanks. Does he have a 4 speed or automatic? The 76 is a 4 speed and I like the flat rear window. They changed the window I believe after the 77 model... My friend will sell to me at a great price. I bought a 1976 Datsun 280z from him when he brought the Vette in 1989. He is older now. (20 years older than me.) He is tired of the stick shift because of his leg. He has an 81 Vette that is an automatic. He will move into that car once he update some of the interior pieces.
Yeah, so its your typical long nosed, fastback window, very similar to the one i currently own. I believe it is an automatic, brand new paint, side pipes and a couple of other upgrades. I will be doing a post on it soon, just waiting on him to send me info on the numbers, miles, upgrades etc. Good luck with your purchase and feel free to email me with any questions.
@@c3sgarage Thanks. I prefer the 4 speed. If the 76 has no or very little birdcage rust and if I can get it for 6-7 k. I will grab it. I know the engine is solid. He is a mechanic. He said it had no birdcage rust....I have to see it tho ... I will hit you up if questions arise
Good tips on checking hidden rust! Thanks

Thank you!
Was that insulation you pulled out ? Or did a mouse get in there
insulation! or was it????? haha
When did this stop being a problem in C3 Corvettes? Is it relevant for all year C3's?
All c3 will have a birdcage because of the way the frame was built. This is not the case for older models (c4)
