    The oldest perfume bottle containing a well-preserved fragrant substance was discovered in Cyprus. The perfume dates back around 4000 years, and an analysis of the content shows that it was a mixture of lavender, rosemary, pine resin and coriander extracts
    Archeological findings suggest that the most popular fragrance was Kyphi - a mixture of raisins, myrrh, sweet flag, wine, honey and juniper.

    You need a fixative so it lasts long :
    Fixatives are used to equalize the vapor pressures and thus the volatilities of the raw materials in a perfume oil. As well as to increase the tenacity. Natural fixatives are resinoids (benzoin, labdanum, myrrh, olibanum, storax, tolu balsam)

    So I watched this video to get ideas on diffuser blends that would smell good. I have been really big into Vetiver lately. When I got it and smelled it out of the bottle I thought it smelled like bacon lol so I was sorta bummed, but I put it in the diffuser and it smelled totally different, just a really nice masculine smell (to me) it actually reminds me of walking into the Hollister store in the mall. It was still not one of my favs UNTIL I used it in the diffuser at bedtime and wow I slept like a ROCK! It really helps with sleep. So when I see you had a perfume blend with that in it, I don't have Ginger EO so I just used Frank. Serrata in it's place I thought it would be a nice addition, it smells awesome!

      You can choose any type of carrier oil that you like such as sunflower oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil & other. This is just as example.
      .
      If you put water, it is no longer work as perfume, but as face & body mist... That work just likely same as face toner etc.

      You're welcome!! You will find a lot of different methods for diluting essential oils on the internet. If you feel more comfortable diluting them further you can cut down on the essential oils.

    Essential oils must be mixed with alcohol, or another carrier oil or cream before adding water to make perfume. If you just use water only in the perfume bottle the oils can burn you!

    • @ouroilyhouse
      @ouroilyhouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not all oils will burn the skin when mixed with water, several oils are considered "neat" oils and they are safe to use with water as a spray or in the tub.

    Hello Laura, Thank you for sharing all your recipes with us. I have tried some of your recipes for facial cleaning and my husband and I are very happy. I am new to essential oils. since I decided to go green/ clean, I have thrown many of cleaning house supplies and Body lotions, skin care etc. Also, my perfumes. I like some of your perfumes recipes, but I would like to know if is possible if you can help us to create a natural version of an " American Cream perfume".
    Here is the list of the Ingredients of the American Cream at LUSH Where I used to buy it. I just don't have any idea of how to do this. If you can help me with this I will appreciate. If you can't I totally understand. Thank you and Happy Blessed Thanksgiving in advance.
    kind regards,
    Angela
