Thanks for sharing your hard work. I'm a SoCal girl living in Florida now and bought a 2005 Sportster 2 weeks ago. I'm getting it ready for water as well and subscribed for my "how to". I'm a little older and either using tools I have or borrowing so progress is a little slower.
You can make way cooler sandbar anchors out of PVC and buying your own augers. Can paint them to match your boat too.
You might concert a marine two way radio ..get one for $40.00..Just saying, but be safe and have fun.

If you want to bring the rub rail back try CeraKote Trim Coat. It works great and is extremely durable.
Another thing you can do is replace the impeller with a high performance impeller. I put one on a seadoo and it rips.

I have a 2009 and am loving it. I do wonder if there is any way to get mine to idle down for when I park it in my boatwell. Any tips, greatly appreciated!
Nice - i wouldnt use wd40 it breaks down the rubber hoses, use the seadoo xpt product . also a 14/9 impeller will make a huge difference , i straight piped mine and removed the muffler for a meaty sound and better top end speed.
Good content I have same boat with sc engine...I think its a 2008. Do u have digital service manual.
Looking for help. I purchased the same boat with the 4 tec. It starts fine out of the water and fine when you first put it in the water. After running about 3 minutes in water, it dies and is very hard to start after. (impossible). It seems like the start really struggles, or it gets hydro-locked. Any ideas or pointers on where to start.
U should check the codes for that beeper it can mean there is something wrong with the engine. :)
Can you spary WD-40 on a 1997 seadoo speedster engine too?
Do you know what the three switches to the right of the steering wheel do? I just bought one and it didn’t come with a manual. Also any ideas on where to pick up a manual or PDF?
left to right Bilge Pump, Lights , Engine bay Blower - mine all work perfect
How do you keep water from entering thru the drain pipe on the driver side? Also how do you drain the water after coming off the water?
drain plugs on the back. If you open both water will drain. Just make sure to not leave them open when entering the water!!!! Also there is a bildge pump on these boats (activate it by pressing the middle button by the stering wheel) which will pump out the water.

Honestly you should swap the 215 into a 2000-2003 single jet seadoo speedster.
They are a blast as well as the newer speedsters but have a great shape hull and seat layout

I think it’s squealing like a pig because it’s telling you no water or clogged water system!!??? My friend went through seaweed and that squealing happened and he threw it in reverse to clear the weeds out and it was fine!!!!
Be careful with that wd40, because it's flammable. Please don't ask me how I know.
