    If you are plugging it into the Xbox; you are just making it work harder which creates more heat. Those external add-ons should be plugged into an external power source!! That should be in the instructions!! This is a Microsoft recommendation!!

    • @bdubberz
      @bdubberz ปีที่แล้ว +18

      That's not true at all. PCs power their own fans, you think the people that run 3+ fans are having a harder time keeping the GPU cool?

    • @AlRios523
      @AlRios523 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@bdubberz The system is not built to power external fans and electricity does create more heat in the system. The USB is there for the accessories it has been tested to work with. My suggestion is to have a USB hub to power them connected to the wall.

    • @arranmc182
      @arranmc182 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@bdubberz you are wrong as the fans you are talking about are not USB powered they run from the motherboard header, everytime you plug a USB device in the system has to send it power and that actually does generate more heat in the system.

      It is a usb 3.0 port like a computer usb 3.0 port. Connecting a usb isnt going to make the xbox hotter especially when you have a fan cooling it. I use a usb 140mm fan on the top and it does a good job keeping it cool and quiet.

    Highly recommend these coolers. I use a top extractor one, and the bottom one pushes cooler air through the series X. Mine used to shut down from overheating with long periods of play time in the summer months. Since I installed these, it’s staying way cooler and no longer shutting down. You can physically feel the extra hotter air being extracted from the top.

    If you are going to perform tests, you need to perform them with and without the external fan installed. Having it installed, but not running will restrict airflow thus making the cooling of the running system less.

    The consoles avg temperature is around 120°... again remember its pushing 12 Terraflops & 16GB ram! Its gonna run hot. I tired aftermarket fan pullers on my ps3 phat back in the day... the aftermarket fans actually yellow lighted because of it! I think its a gimmick because the inlet holes are both on the bottom and back side, the fan is just pushing air out the backside, not straight through! Causing cross flow.

    I love this fan. It cools the Xbox down significantly at high speed. This thing is worth every penny. When I was having over heating problems in my hot room a year and a half ago this thing got rid of those problems. If this thing doesn’t help you then there is something wrong with your Xbox or you live in a desert. With headphones on you won’t hear the fan. Keep in mind though it makes it sound like a PlayStation 4 jet fighter. I have this thing running on high 100% of the time when my Xbox is on and it still works like new. Did you try on pulling hot air out instead of pushing air into the box? Cooling fans are supposed to help to dissipate hot temp quicker by pulling heat away. I don't have that fan you are using but, it seems to me that because it is sitting on a flat surface, the fan doesn't have a chance to push a larger amount of fresh air into the box. This hypothesis might not do anything but, testing is the beauty of the scientific method 🤷🏽

    It's a flawed design. You want air to pass through, thus the fan needs a gap, the base of that unit is touching all 4 corners right on the surface, so there is not gap where the air can pass through the fan, and probably the unit that goes on top of the xbox would be a better design/choice.
