    I am a BIG fan of the Canon conversion luts from Canon, and I appreciate you going through some of the other luts! I am fairly green when it comes to video editing and I appreciate all the help I can get😅

      So glad it was helpful! If there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover, feel free to let me know and I’ll see if I can make a video on it 🤙🏼

    Thanks so much for creating this video! I've not checked out the 606 LUTs, but do have Gamut's Adagio and Marble packs - both also really good.
    QUESTION 1: I'm shooting CLOG3 with an R5C, and I'm shooting it in Cinema Gamut as opposed to BT.709. What color space are you shooting in on your R3?
    QUESTION 2: And would you consider using a CST to use DaVinci Wide Gamut to make your pre-LUT changes to exposure, color balance, etc., before using another CST to convert back to 709 for the LUTs themselves?
    Thanks again - there are hardly any Gamut LUTs on DaVinci tutorials out there!

      Thanks so much for the support, means a lot!! I’m shooting in Cinema Gamut as well on the R3! Usually more happy with that profile than BT.709. And I definitely have thought about creating a node tree to do that - haven’t gone through the trouble of that setup yet but it’s on my to-do list haha

      @@joshrexfordThanks for the response, man - much appreciated! What I found worked well for me - especially since the Gamut Conversion LUT pack has LUTs for both 709 and Cinema Gamut footage - was to use a CST at the beginning to get into DaVinci Wide Gamut, and then another CST just before the node for the Conversion LUT to take it back to Cinema Gamut, before applying their Cinema Gamut conversion LUT.
      So basically: NR node (if needed) --> CST node (C.Gamut to DWG) --> Exposure node --> Color Bal node --> Secondaries node(s) --> CST node (DWG to C.Gamut) --> Gamut Conversion node (C.Gamut) --> Gamut LUT (Adagio, Marble, 606, etc.) --> Sharpening.
      I've only edited one project with this and it gave a good amount of exposure latitude - hope that helps!

    Nice video!!! Quick question, how do you expose your clog3 footage? Zebras? Histogram? ETTR?

    • @joshrexford
      @joshrexford  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many thanks! I absolutely use Zebras to make sure I'm not clipping highlights, but otherwise I generally try to stick a touch to the right in terms of exposure without going beyond about a stop or so. I've found the best results when I'm around the +0.3-0.7 range.

      @@joshrexford Why ? is better? because I'm just starting to record Canon R6II Clog3 + Gamut + 606. I found the 6060 best suited to 80% intensity

      @joshrexford  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve found the color profile of the cinema gamut more appealing personally, but it’s not a right vs wrong thing! And agreed on the 606 luts, I tend to scale them back a bit too

    Anyone who says to use a CST over a LUT is hilarious 😂 a CST literally is a LUT that is built in and free, hah. It’s just preference on what you’d like.
