This definitely helps explain a ton! Thank you! Going to keep digging in to colour!
I'm really having a hard time figuring out colour theory. But eventually one day it'll just click.

Well, not sure about this one. On the surface it explains a couple of things but kind of came off like an infomercial for your luts. And nothing wrong with that. I think that if you had explained how to build DWG luts that people could save for themselves that it would have been more explanatory to the concepts of LUTs. I consider myself quite advanced and the grabinb of LUTs from your pack and then doing a mix with them, in my opinion, not as obvious as it is to people who use them.

Davinci's 2383 lut expects output gamma to “Cineon Film Log”. Why “Cineon film log”? That is because the LUT is actually designed for scanned film footage.

Hi Cullen! Does it matter what timeline color space I am working in, if I for example am using a Sony LUT (slog-rec709)? Or is it just input color space and output color space that matters? What timeline color space do you recommend for a slog LUT?
    Thanks for great videos!

After watching your Resolvecon 2022 talk on color mgmt and this video on LUTS, I have the following question about the correct way to use your Kodak DWG/DWG LUT:
In the Resolvecon talk you mentioned it’s good to establish the look (LUT) early on, but you didn’t talk about best way to do this. In this current LUTS video you show putting the LUT on a node in the timeline section of the node graph so that it will affect all the clips in the timeline. Does this accomplish establishing the look early?
Assuming that my color mgmt is set up in Project Settings as you describe in the Resolvecon 2022 talk, am I establishing the look early by putting your Kodak DWG/DWG LUT on a node in the timeline section of the node graph, followed by tweaks to EXP, RATIO, BAL nodes at the clip level?
Is this the correct workflow? (and yes, if it’s not obvious, I am a beginner !)

Cullen, can you do a series on just the Curves? Hue vs hue, hue vs sat, etc and what they all really mean? I couldn't find on your channel, apologies if you've already done one like that.

I’ve been avoiding LUTs for years because I haven’t felt I can trust the sources of LUTs I see floating around the internet. I think for 2024 I wanna get into using them more though to speed up my workflow a bit.
