    Nice PC. Like the easy access to the inside to do upgrades. The LTE feature is nice. If one can live with a portable hot spot or use hot spot from cell phone then a better alternative might be the HP Spectre 15 inch for the money. For another inch+ on the screen you get a full size ten key that is handy for business users. With the smaller footprint on the latest Spectres the physical size and weight is not much more. Still this is an excellent PC. As always another great review.

    Thanks for reviewing this. I was about to buy their Dragonfly to replace my Dell XPS until I noticed the port positions in your review. I am right handed and like my mouse/USB dongles on the right and all the cables (charge and HDMI) on the the left. I would also miss the SD card slot. I will keep looking.

    Hey, Andrew. Thanks for the lovely review. I think that OEM's generally tend to put their best foot forward in terms of optimizing utility for their business laptops, except for the battery size and the graphics horsepower as is the case here. Honestly, I feel that all laptops should have inbuilt LTE or at least the option to upgrade to it later. Hopefully, Intel's Xe graphics will offer better horsepower when they eventually trickle into these offerings. Thanks again for the awesome work you keep on doing - it's really inspirational 👍🏾. Looking forward to the next stream. Perhaps we could discuss the various business line offerings available.

    Anyone know if HP fixed the terrible display issues that plagued the Sureview displays for the 830/840 G7, or even addressed the ones on the G6?

    Very good review, Andrew. I noticed when you noted what was lacking on the right-side with no microSD cart slot, you didn't highlight the other removed feature was the LAN port went the way of the dodo; which the the G6 and G5 have.
    Probably not a major issue in an office environment as most folks will be using a docking station, but an item that jump out when I was comparing to previous models I've purchased for our office.

    Hello Marc David. Please also make a review of Lenovo ThinkPad E15. I used it and found it a low value & performance for more money. Battery lasts only 1 and a half hour on work. Thermals are also not managed. Lenovo is still providing 5400 rpm hard disk, "a product of the last century". Only metal casing is durable and this I found the only plus point in it. I shared my thoughts, waiting for your detailed review.

    Ah so pleased you did this one! So many reviewers stick to consumer models and gaming machines, which makes choosing a business machine harder. Great review! One thing I will say is that webcam is shocking. The elite line always used to have a 1080p camera but they've dropped down to 720 and not a very good 720p. In this day and age you need a good webcam, ESPECIALLY on a business laptop.

    It's 10% lighter because they got rid of the ethernet port. I would have much rather kept that and kept it at right under 3lbs as 3lbs isn't shit, and it's annoying having to use a USB to Ethernet dongle.

    Hmm. I have always received elitebooks from the office every 3-4 years. Decent laptops, well built. This laptop doesn't appear to make the rather pertinent design decisions that are required. 16:10 display, Tiger Lake/Renoir CPU/APUs neither. Rather underwhelming. Bulk pricing is probably significantly lower, but it still is lacking on these two rather important fronts. I was really hoping for that, especially the display and CPU.

    Why do these Elite book models always lag in terms of processors?

    • @paulkoigi7566
      @paulkoigi7566 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possibly because it may take longer to migrate some of the security features optimized for the 14nm++ to the Superfin architecture. Since the business line focuses on optimizing security, top notch performance isn't really the priority. But to be honest, they aren't lacking in performance, as they do what they are meant to do well. There should be a significant catch-up in graphical performance and processing power when Tiger lake arrives on the Elitebook line. The really sad bit is how much dearer the x360 hinge makes the price.

    I'm sorry, but do people like this computer? I was just given this for work and it is the worst computer I have ever been forced to use. I am not sure how I can handle working on this for more than an hour. The bottom edge is unbelievably cheap, my wrists have actual cuts from having to rest them on the very sharp edge. There is hardly any room to rest the palm of your hands. Truly a nightmare to be forced to work with this computer.
