- Boikie Pholo AKA Raitlhwana shares a lot of wisdom with David Mashabela in this podcast. Many know him as Raitlhwana on our television screens; but at heart Boikie Pholo is a teacher.
The way David relates to his guests is phenomenal 👏
Yow David your podcast is necessary. No one, and i mean NO ONE interviews these legends and in an in-depth way like you. Keep doing it Sir.
i listen to Boikie and realise that our older generation have a lot of history and stories that need to be told and documented.a lot of rich history that will be lost if not captured. shem, i remember watching all seasons of Lesilo and we recorded them n our VCR. Mo Botswana ne go le monate familities sitting around watching this man do his thing, scaring the S*$#T out of us. hehehe. thanks for the great memories.
I still love watching him
I watched this for days till the end. I must say he really lived his life. Insightful interview. David is also a juice sucker.
I like the fact that he lets his guest tell his story, without interference.
Without rushing right, and also giving them time to gather their thoughts. And they speak their own languages, I feel for peoples who are interested but not understanding. Maybe at a later stage ba tla tsenya di subtitles
Love that too
Meneer Pholo...Yerrr, guys! He was my teacher in primary school (in the early 90s) and Lesilo Rula was on TV. To say the least, I was prettified of him. To make matters worse, his house was just on the road to the shops and it was the shorter road...need I say more, I never used that road alone.😂😂😂😂😂😂
He is a living legend indeed.
O re tshositse Ntate o 🤣🤣🤣
@@edmundsishange3608Heyi! But ke kgale ke sa mmone.

Was the late Mr Rapudi not your principal at the time?
Whenever I feel punched, I always come to watch 15 to 30 minutes of this episode.. He's a great storyteller ❤❤
Thank you Ntate Mashabela for bringing this icon to your studio, such an awesome interview. You let your guests tell their stories without interruption. Big up to you sir. 👌👌
So sad that Patrick Shai died we needed also needed to hear his storied on this podcast
We asked and he sadly declined.
@@kingdavidstudio1 kindly ask sis Faith Kekana please If you can. She was an excellent actress and a back up singer.
@@kingdavidstudio1 very sad indeed,it could've been a memory !
Great interview. He speaks Setswana so beautifully.
This TIMER is a great story-teller, Rre Moditle. One of the best ever to visit.
Ntate "Ratau'' o bolela nnete, most shows are not family friendly and 'Gare Dumele' was Hit I still remember watching with my great grandmother on a Sunday night.
The Legend
He's so precious when he skipped something he goes back and touches on it . That means he wants to be here and is enjoying the interview
I thought it was Cassper Nyovest while listening from the kitchen ...until I came to TV 📺 room to watch...

Mr Mashabela it would be nice to pop pictures of people he is talking about re ba itse.
That would be awesome
Yeah, just like in the podcast and chill. I remember when guests were talking about Ntate Koos or Grant I thought that they were talking about white guys.
Ke kopa Clemintine Mosimanyane. I would be very happy

This is one podcast I enjoy watching... Le ge e ka nna 3hrs long. King D you make your guests feel very comfortable... You ask the right questions, you relate, you don't interfere.. Okare le tlo tla le ntse mo tlase ga moriti wa setlhare😜😂Good job👌👌👌
Mr Motolla was actually a Principal at a school in Hammanskraal Temba Unit D called PHL Moraka High. He taught my brother, he was very strict. My brother used to tell us stories about him.
I was so scared to end up in that high school, It was the best Math & Science school in those days. but i never ended up there coz we moved before i finished primary school.
I wish King David could read my two cents worth of comment/input.
In podcasts like this that cut through sections of our history, I think it could help for the King to introduce visual segments or insert photos and clips of crucial moments that the listener could link to certain moments that the guest is touching on. Even though it would have "documentary feel", I think the value to the podcast would be immense, and we would come back again and again to refer to it.
Thanks King David, catch you on the Royal Playground.
Edit: at 1:43.00 both Ntate Pholo and King David appreciate the difficulty of gathering such records as photographs....but such archive material can still be found....®®®
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately we do not own the footage that you make reference to. It would cost a lot to produce and we would take months to put one episode together.
@@kingdavidstudio1 and so I figured. Thank you for taking time to reply. Keep working.®®®
1k subscription in one day… the fam is growing 🙌🏽! This is by far the Best podcast in SA right now

As a woman who spend time in her career going underground, its funny how Ntate Pholo was scared to go where i used to go😂😂😂😂😂...a good storyteller of note

Whatttttt this guy I thought he was younger than my mom, whatttt! I did not think he is over 70 wow! My mom is not even 70 yet
he said his father is from Wolmaranstad, its a township next to my kasie in the north west......Am proud to hear that my people from such hopeless places gave birth to such legends like bo Ntate Pholo
Medical university of South Africa (Medunsa) /Sefako Makgatho was not established by the Bophuthatswana government. The same goes for Ga-rankuwa hospital. Mangope did well though. We miss him dearly.
Lovely interview, love the way he speaks well of his father 🥰
What an awesome Audio BIOGRAPHY 👌🏽🙏🏽Dankie Rre Pholo aka "Monna Raihlwana" for narrating story of your life so well👌🏽
Pholo's driver could have been the middle man of duplicating (twin) his taxi and ended up selling it. Maybe he was shot by people whom he made 🤬🤬🤬🤬
I really enjoy this interview, Rre Boikie Pholo!thank You Ntate David Mashabela to brings those Legends, may God bless U and Ur show.
Still remember those excellent Peter Stuyvesants ads with that voice of his on Radio Mmabatho.👌🏽
Lesilo rula mo baswing o tle kwano
Wow! I also grew up in Skomplaas ❤️ Vaal Reefs/Umuzimuhle. I didn’t know ntate was born there.
Rre Moditle Pholo.o star what a legend ❤😊
I am from Eswatini but I thank this podcast for the fact that I am now able to understand most (probably 80%) of SeSotho, SeTswana and Sepedi…it is a pity that I cannot respond because I cannot practice the languages. And I still struggle differentiating between Sesotho and Setswana
Wow that's great, A lot of people can't differentiate the difference in fact alot mix the 3 languages without even realising so I'd say don't worry about speaking q language it's that deep because they all sound very similar
Congratulations 🎉👏🏼, you did well for yourself. It only takes the willingness to listen, positive attitude, patience and listening attentively. Funny enough you'll get to understand and see that somehow there are other words we are sharing 😁 and/or the rhythm might also give u the similar word and understanding in your language.👏🏼
These old topies one i think i really really like about them is that even though they are celebrities, they talk like our own uncles and old'taimas tsa mo kasi. You can hear the wisdom.
I'm watching this interview for the third time
Dede, you are doing a great job my brother.Ntate Pholo, what a dynamic gentleman.I am amazed by his in-depth understanding of "issues" political, economical and social!

David's interviewing skills are best on Joe Rogan's level or even much better. He just happens to be south african. Same way Trevor Noah is funnier than some world class comedians. Same way Nasty C raps better than some american rappers. I think we are witnessing something great in the making
Ntate Boikie Pholo mowa gagwe banna!!!!! ke ithuta go le gontsi mo interview e. O na le kgogedi e ntsi nka mo reetsa letsatsi lotlhe a bua. Monagano wa gagwe o sa ntse o le bogale!!!

Black Power was not UDF
Great interview. David you are the best. Rre Pholo is a true legend. I am delighted that he was born in Klerksdorp, my home town.
They were merely mentioning formations which existed. UDF was formed in 1983.
Some People are not aware there has always been a big Xhosa community in Mafikeng.
All over Bophuthatswana, Northern Cape and Free State even back during apartheid…
Even in Taung.
