i think he should've given him more space to talk about why he doesn't see the EFF as so extreme..he was about to explore this topic then Mike cut him short

Love the show and the people in it. The mental gymnastics of this situation are just beyond. We need to start talking about acceptance. If it ends up being an ANC DA coalition lets not have riots and if its an ANC EFF coalition lets not tank the rand. We have to get people to accept that whatever we get mow is likely temporary and we will probably end up rotating these pairings over the next 5 years while maintaining an ANC president. Which unfortunately is the best for stability right this second.

Considering the bad press and the misalignment of the DA by the ANC,this disaster should be laid to rest on ANC shoulder s,all self inflicted.
How can a 9% party get the position over a 22% not right.. the DA needs to be there to oversee the thieves, otherwise nothing will v change.. just look at anc/eff/pa in jhb.. money's missing, maladministation.. etc etc

What a refreshing analysis from King David, and what an interesting proposal from the host when it comes to the EFF, DA and ANC coalition. I think as bizarre this sounds, it might actually work. The reality is that the MK party is the biggest disruptor of our constitutional democracy out of these 3. Zuma wants all his criminal charges to be dropped. Now, that is just crazy, even though the man has not found guilty to the extent of going to jail. But, to scrap everything said against you is just too much.
David is very honest, truthful, smart and maintains a strong backbone... my nigga.
DA have repeatedly said they won't work with EFF.... you seem to have forgotten that.... don't blame them.... they ARE extreme.... and chaos follows them everywhere

I think it's wrong to say that the Palestine issue falls outside of the country, actually it's central, it's about if we are on the side of the West or against apartheid. It's a litmus test for what our own country will be handled, will we implement the western policies without question or make our own decisions.

I think that makes it a more abstract thing. In as much as it is fine to pursue geopolitical causes.
It seems to me like it's taking up all the air in the room. Regionally I think a lot can change in the relationship between RSA & neighboring countries.
That would have a more material impact on the lives of citizens.
Lesotho, Eswatini, Namibia, KZN/MP/Mozambique border, LP/Zimbabwe border, SADC military intervention in DRC/Rwanda war, SADC military intervention in Mozambique, Angola folding their hands Re DRC/Rwanda, current govt endorsement of RSF leader & UAE client, etc.
These issues are closer to home and can be improved on or worsened by the stance of the new government. Their impacts will be felt more greatly by an average citizen
@@mulamulelilumadi4717 Those issues are closer to home geographically. Palestine is closest to home geopolitically and otherwise. Last thing we want is a government that will withdraw our case at the ICJ. That would be a great blow to the moral stance we've taken on the global stage.
So why do we worry more about middle east conflicts than we do about African ones ?

David raised an interesting issue Re Zuma getting arrested for contempt of court.
Was Ramaphosa supposed to dictate to the highest court in the land Re Zuma.
The president doesn't have those powers.
If we accept that this could be the exception what would stop him/successor from dictating to a seperate branch of government again?
In fairness, the Zuma contempt of court was an open and shut case and nothing to do with the President. It played out live on national television. Zuma just left the Zondo Commission at lunchtime and never returned. He was called and given days to come back to the commission and never did. Any citizen would be found guilty of contempt.

Infact Ramaphosa had Zuma released on bogus medical parole (yet another case of ANC members protecting one another illegally/immorally/unethically).
But Mr Zuma and his supporters blame Ramaphosa, and hate him with a passion.
For Ramaphosa respecting the rule of law and seperation of powers.
Mind you those very Zuma supporters say that the ANC is corrupt. When someone tries to change that perception they get upset.
I find it problematic to associate theft and corruption with black politicians, and even more so to suggest that only white politicians (DA) can combat corruption and act righteously. Corruption and anti-corruption efforts are not tied to any race.
