- Following the amazing NC 500 in Scotland we thought we'd try out the Welsh equivalent - The Wales 360 (Snowdonia 360)! We've always loved riding in Wales but never linked various routes together, so we were very much looking forward to riding it. This episode shows us making our way across country to the official start (for us) at the little town of Bala. As we tend not to do big mileages these days, we broke up the ride into manageable stints with plenty of breaks. Our first day took us to the outskirts of Shrewsbury before heading into the glorious roads of Wales and our fantastic second night at the delightful Panteinion Hall. Think it has changed a fair bit the bike club was under neath the hotel known as the crypt witch later became a wine bar . Sadly no longer there

Just found your channel. My wife and enjoy these motorcycle journeys, taking us to places that we are unlikely to visit now. I am 73 and just got back into motorcycling again with the wife as pillion. Very enjoyable

We live in South Wales and like to take a weeks break in North Wales every year or so, in fact we only came back the other day after spending a week in a renovated barn near Ruthin. We've done all the runs but in our MINI JCW not on our 1972 CB450 K5. Anyway the point of this post is to let readers know that North Wales is the hot spot for mobile speed cameras, not that I speed but sometimes it's so easy to drift from 30 mph to 35 mph going down hill or leaving a town and BANG! they have you, they are strategically placed even in the evenings. I used an app on my phone called 'Radarbot' it was 100% reliable and correctly warned me about the mobile speed cameras we came across, and be warned there are many.
A lovely video really enjoyed it, reminded me of how similar we do our ride outs only from a fixed base but we do put the miles in planning on the day or the day before dependent on the weather as always in Wales, I may even get the Honda out for a ride after watching this and head down locally to the Gower Peninsula.

I previously watched your WAW tour, Ireland is a great riding destination. Awesome route and Scenery. The filming was excellent and great content, throughout the tour.
Love the Yellow overlay map of the route at the waypoint, end of day. Interestingly you don't rush the miles and dont cover neck breaking distances, like some friends I know. perhaps a mature thing. Also allows more time to look around, each location.
Maybe a bit more info at some places wouldn't go amiss otherwise fantastic footage.

Ahhh…The Mytton as we used to call it was on our list of drinking holes back in the 70s. Looks like the original 70s decor has been retained. That’s 1970s not 1870s. That room looked grim. Shrewsbury is a lovely medieval town full of history and beautiful Tudor buildings and makes a fantastic overnight or weekend getaway. You missed a trick not going there. Stay in the centre where there are hotels to suit all budgets (two with secure garage) and a great choice of superb pubs and restaurants within easy reach. It used to have two great bike shops. Anybody remember Jack Sparrows?
I have worked all my adult life in London but return to Shrewsbury when I can as it’s a perfect antidote to the hustle and stress of the South East. Looking forward to the next episode with eager anticipation. Good stuff!

Wales seems to be the flavour of the month for motovloggers at the moment. Beautiful scenery and wonderful roads and the pace you ride at is perfect to enjoy it all. No need to speed through such a picturesque country. We're currently in winter and lockdown down here so very envious of your new freedom and weather

I've lived in Shrewsbury for 64 years and it is definitely pronounced 'Shroosbury'. It's always been a bone of contention but 99% of locals pronounce it this way. I've been to the Mytton & Mermaid 100's of times but never seen one of the rooms, so thanks for that and thanks for a great video.

23.20 into this, there's a lovely and scenic lane to 2 lakes in the shadow of Cadir Idris, one access road is about 400 yds back towards Tywyn and another as you leave Artog.
The other end of the lane drops down into Dolgellau.

Great video.. I live in North Wales and pass Bala lake and town on most of my rides.. I have also lived down south Wales for 5 years and mid Wales for 22 years so I know the roads well.. but I'm amazed that after so many years I still find new places to visit..

Cant believe you did not ride the Bala to Blaenau ffestiniog road then on to Betws and Beddgelert, biking heaven some of the best roads in the uk

I realise this was recorded a while ago but I must have skipped past the Enville part for some reason. The road through Enville towards Bridgnorth is a fantastic stretch of road - The rabbit run as its known locally.
I go past the Cat Inn regularly and make the same run up to the Mytton & Mermaid (closed as of April 22 for a refurb - new owners). The ride from there to Bala is incredible.

I suggested to some people at the North Wales tourist board that they should designate the old coast road from Flint to Llandudno as a heritage route like Route 66, inspiring classic tours and rallies and transport based facilities, etc to go with the theme. Went down like a lead balloon, though I still think it is a good idea!

Definitely a stunning circuit well worth undertaking. Very different to the NC500 but easily its equal in pleasure derived value. Having returned to biking after 40 years I realise that the two wheel experience is so different that I can do all these routes again and find it as fresh as the first times on four wheels.

@@midlifemotorcyclediaries I can’t remember who said it but they said that driving a car is like playing a computer game whilst riding a bike is like being in a computer game. Completely immersive.
Like the idea behind your Nr. plates. I live in 🇨🇭 in county Bern shortened to BE on the plates. I and a couple mates have done the same, 40612, 40613, and 40614. 406 has always been my number with the following digits of choice. So, look out for us in summer 2022. Would be nice to have a local show us some of the lesser known biker haunts in the east.
If you look on the map of your 1st stopover here, you'll see nearer to Shrewsbury, Sutton Farm. My Sister lives on Sutton Lane, Shrewsbury end, where she does BnB. She does no advertising, it's all by word of mouth. Whats more, she has reduced rates for Bikers.

The number plate was Sue’s idea 😀 I wasn’t sure at first but I really like it now - your sister’s place sounds great - a lot of the B&Bs we’ve used have turned out to be much better than the hotels! At least that was a fantastic bridge and view from the M + M hotel near Shrewsbury. It's pronounced SHREWSBURY by the way, hope that helps! Have ridden some of the roads you were on here. During the 2019 Welsh rally we had to find Stone circles and there was one on your right by the car park just before the High Street junction at Bala. What with the views, reviews and just the right amount of drone footage and the little bits of casual interviews makes your videos great to watch on both the entertainment and information fronts. We had a slight change to the original route, so didn’t go through Barmouth! We’ve done the ride through Blaenau Ffestiniog in the past and loved it! 😀👍
Really liked the episode. Looking forward to the next one. One ask, PLEASE keep the footage of you riding in context, if you know the roads intimately it is very frustrating to be watching you ride from Shrewsbury to Bala but halfway there riding down the Corris valley. Sets my OCD off.
