We live in Scotland at the getaway to the highlands if you need somewhere to stay on your travels with secure bike parking your more than welcome to stay and recharge your batteries at our home there is plenty of room and good food to be had , my wife will be more than happy to to look after you both ,good Scottish hospitality
Hi James, thank you so much for your kind offer! We have completed the trip and are editing the footage now but that would have been really nice as we sometimes struggled to find a place (as we book an hour or two before we need it). Scotland was amazing and we had fantastic weather so really looking forwards to sharing the footage that we got. Thanks again and hope to hear from you again =)
Really enjoyed this video and what went into packing..hope you had better weather in Scotland than I had a few weeks ago where it was 5c and snowing on the mountains..looking forward to the rest of this series and after watching this I’ve realised I definitely need to get more organised in the packing front.cheers
Hi Ian, really glad you enjoyed the video! We actually had perfect weather in Scotland -like sunny blue skies (we almost didn’t believe it either 😁) Wow snow!! We were very fortunate then, hope your trip went well. If you like the packing videos we start each playlist off with a packing video. The packing video for Norway was the most detailed as we had camping and cooking equipment. Here it is: th-cam.com/video/1CeVk7UXI7Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BWAof5EKjQqGJbFD
You put always so much effort in preperation, great to see. When I'm from my Swiss tour I will definitely take an closer.look at all your tips. Thanks for this.
Not too much to prepare this time as we not long got back form Corsica, but yeah still lots to think about. Hope there's a few tips you can use for your next trip 😊
Thanks, we are looking forwards to sharing it too 😊. There was so many spectacular rides on this tour that we were speechless at times. Thanks for joining us on the ride 😎👍
congratulations on the new gear excellent choice well respected brand,, let M do another rehearsal on her gear i think its little big on her,, same scenario happened with my wife last summer we went again to the shop and changed it. 👍👍
Thanks, they are great suits 😎. It’s actually the smallest size but it’s good as Em feels the cold so often has a few extra layers on 😉 but important to get the right size and try them in the seated position. Glad to hear you got yours sorted 😎👍🏻
There is no mosquitoes is Scotland Emily but the midges love to bit it the west coast of Scotland. Better bringing a midge net and skin so soft might help. Hope you both have a good trip.
You mentioned tyres. Should you need any mid tour, we carry a good stock at David Jones motorcycles , Newtown, mid Wales. Ride in / ride out service too 👍
If you are coming to UK leave the opinels behind , unless you can supply a good reason they are illegal to have in a public place in this country, replace with non locking folders , and use any extra space for more security 😁
@@SeanandEmily yup anything with a locking blade requires a good reason , fortunate Swiss take a more sensible view, which may be part of why I spend a month or so a year over there nowadays 😝
Was there in Jan and it was sultry! Skiing was late spring like! Easter was actually cooler with better snow until the Saturday when we had 25C on the range at Sigriswil 😛 back in September for competitive shooting in the Interlaken area although thankfully the big range at Guntelsley is fully booked as I have never known that be anything other than cold summer or winter 😆😆
BRC Motorcycles are about 15 miles from Inverness and will supply and fit tyres, just give them a call. We used them on a trip when one of our party had repaired punctures in both tyres.
Hey Sean, I hadn't come across ACF 50 before, and a Google search backed up everything you said. One query: The petrol cap on my R1200 GSA is playing up, so much so I'm considering buying a new one, but at around $600 (Australian) it ain't cheap. I have pulled the cap apart and cleaned it, which made a slight difference, but I was wondering whether ACF 50 would 'fix' my problem. Gotta admit, while I love my Beemer give me a key anytime.
Hi, yeah it's great stuff. When i changed garages and but my old 2010 in for a service the mechanic asked straight away if i used ACF50 - he asked because the bike was still in near perfect condition. That petrol cap issue is a right pain, not had it as bad as that but if i don't really close the cap it doesn't want to open -so a firm closing every time seems to work. Others say to loosen off the screws a tad (especially the FWD 2 that hold the emergency opening plate on). I'm not sure if the ACF50 would help but it's safe of rubber parts so might be worth a try. Also do you have a tank bag ring fitted? -some aftermarket screws can distort the fuel cap.
@@SeanandEmily Thanks for replying so quickly Sean. My tank bag is a BMW one, so that doesn’t affect the cap. The idea of loosening the 2fwd screws is worth a try. I’ll let you know how that goes. Thanks mate.
It's worth a shot, hope it works -nothing worse than having to fork out a wad of cash for something like that! I guess you already know but if you remove the two fwd screws and the plate it's the emergency opening (it's in the manual) but you shouldn't have to carry a torx screwdriver around with you just in case lol Also if you press it down before lifting this might help too, yeah please let us know if you have any success
Thanks very much, we should probably go one year as we have been in the magazine a few times lol (actually in the last one). We had the best coffee of the Tour in Belfast at the 'Works Coffee Roasters' 😎
Ah yeah, we've had one of those before! We usually go for a vented suit with a waterproof outer layer, but for this one we dint want to be taking the waterproofs on and off. Up to 20 degrees this suit was perfect!
@SeanandEmily I looked for one on the Touratech website. There's only a limited of range of sizes and almost sold out. Is the suit made by Revit I wonder? They say it's the same ventilation system. All the best Nick
Hi Nick, yes that's correct it's made for them by Rev it. I believe that there is a new version of the suit on the way which could explain limited sizes
Probably not to be honest, at 20 degrees it was getting a little bit too warm, above mid 20's it might be unbearable. For the warm summer weather we don't think you can beat the campanero world traveller suit. Just watched your Black Forest K1600 GT ride...that video is a gateway drug. Thanks for this one too. Easy sub!
That k1600 is such a machine!! incredible power in every gear 😊 Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy this new series

Great video! Very informative, thanks for your time and effort, this trip should be fun
Hi thanks very much for your comment -always appreciated. This series is going to be a good one! Can't wait to share them =)
Scotland is amazing! Not that I'm bias or anything !
It sure is! One of the most beautiful countries we've visited....and we have been to every country in Europe =)
Those 31 litre panners look great, I don't camp and ride solo but I bring way too much stuff, need to pack smarter.
Yeah they really do, plenty of space but not too much that one brings too much lol and not so wide so good for lane splitting =)
Hello 👋🏻 when In Scotland use citrus shower gel and Avon so soft both work great against midge's. Will look out for you when In Somerset
Hi, thanks for the advice! Anything to keep the midge’s at bay is very welcome 😎🙌🏻
Yes, as a Scot and walker pack “skin so soft” from Avon or camping shops now stock it in Scotland.
Love from Pakistan brother ❤
Awesome that you are watching from Pakistan! 😎👍

Is it possible to learn the organisational skills of Emily.. honestly, make me look a right messy so and so. Have a good trip in the UK.
haha no i think it's a gift lol Thanks very much

Hadn't even thought of that! I guess that makes a Leatherman multi tool illegal to have in public too! Crazy rules

Clean the small locking pin then use a drop or two of light oil on it, the pin gets sticky with dust and dirt
are you heading to ABR in June ?

Is the suit ventilation effective with the gortex layer in between?
The suit is goretex and the ventilation segments are cut into the suit making the ventilation work well 👍🏻
@SeanandEmily that's good, my suit has a boil in the bag liner and the vents are useless!
