Thats awesome. Night time ocean viewing is not too common. I've had some good times watching lighthouses at night. Highly recommend Heceta or Cape Blanco.
I am so grateful that you are willing to share these stunning sites. At the same time, sharing much needed safety information and making family memories.
@@MattCookOregon there’s always going to be haters. You voice is perfect. You should try out as a narrator for a nature documentary or something like similar to that.
Seriously dude Matt you like don’t even need to go to these places (but totally should!) after your professionally shot, edited and composed videos. What kind of drone do you use??
Nice work as always Matt. Have been here many times over the decades...a truly awesome place to behold the power of the Pacific. It used to be that at certain tide levels, the surf rushing into the deep end of the cave would create a pretty significant boom that would resonate out and through the ground. It's been many years since I've last visited and maybe erosion has changed that effect. Thanks for repeatedly emphasizing the dangers. My neighbors lost their teenage son to the Pacific when a wave swept him off some rocks just a little ways north from here. The perils of the Oregon coast can never be taken lightly.
Thank you! Wishing I caught that deep noise, I hear it a lot at Thor's Well but didn't notice it here. Sorry to hear that someone was lost. The ocean is nothing to mess around with. The eye candy deceives is and gives a peaceful feeling.
A wonderful video Matt. We are spending a week on the Oregon coast in December and will be sure not to miss this or Thor’s Well. Thanks again for the beautiful inspiration.
Thanks Rob. Sounds like a good time. I am sure you are ready for it to possibly be very cold and windy. I really like the walk from Hobbit Beach to Heceta Lighthouse.
@@MattCookOregon : We have had a house on the coast (near Pacific City) for the past three decades ... so, we know it well. The Devils Churn is a conundrum - most interesting when it is most dangerous. I thought you did a superb piece of work on the drone video capture and edit.
I love the Cape Pertpetua area. I usually park at the visitor Center and make a big loope from the Spouting Horn up to Devil’s churn, then across the Hwy to the trail to the Giant Spruce, and then back to the VC. Great video again!
Thank you. I love it too. Lots of good camping. We actually did a video about the giant spruce tree. It is a bit older and didn't get many views, oh well.
Thanks guys. I did the same transition in my Thor's Well video a couple years ago. Thought it would be cool to have them match like that since they are neighbors.
Wow! A great video especially the drone shots. After seeing the waves at Shore Acres, I can appreciate Devils Churn. I'll have to add this one to my list whenever we get back to Oregon. The churning waves segment of the video was something to see. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Ride Oregon. Lots of people just use the one viewpoint since there are so many things to see in the area. Well I either inspired you to go or saved you a trip.
Thanks. That is a good place to be. Cape Perpetua would be a good full trip with all it has. Thors well, the churn, the lookout, giant spruce tree, list goes on.
@@MattCookOregon No problem buddy. Actually your videos got me to pick the area. It seemed ideal to venture forth from to see all the coast has to offer. Can't wait to see what you got to show next.
How Superb Matt, so well filmed by combining differing times of visits. Such dedication in filming brings this to special life. A grand piece indeed! Well Done Buddy. .. Mike.
Beautifully Done and I really enjoyed the slow waves and showing the foam. I have been there several times but hadn't seen the tunnel, very cool. Thanks for Sharing!
Just visited this this Friday during a very low tide. I was able to walk out to areas super far out which would be covered during high tides. Really cool to see how it all got there. But yes this place is scary even when low tides.
found you channel from a comment from an outdoors video I happened on. Don't get on internet much but when I do I try to watch outdoors channels. That and maintain my channel are about all I do on internet, when I can.
Whenever you see water foaming up like that your chances of drowning if you end up in it are extremely high. Places like this usually have a washing machine type effect going on too where you'll just get sucked under and go around in circles.
How did I miss this? I've been to this place so many times but this is such a new perspective of it. Does the visitor center have a bathroom you can review?
I'd bring 9mm static with carabiners, straight-8 descender, hip harness, jumar ascenders, jungle boots (to vent water if wading), rappel gloves, caving helmet w/ fixed headlamp. All to enter/escape inland cave at a minus low tide. Which would yet hazard any rogue wave entry. Which I'd do naked except for the aforementioned on a warm summer evening. Because I'm a senior citizen who could. If reader cannot it isn't my problem.
Thanks I appreciate that. Please feel free to tell them that! I have a donation link on the description and never mention it, don't want it to get in the way of the content.
I wandered here last night and spent the night listening to the power of the water. Incredible
Thats awesome. Night time ocean viewing is not too common. I've had some good times watching lighthouses at night. Highly recommend Heceta or Cape Blanco.
Wow thanks for all the love. My Thor's Well video blew up so I had a feeling this place would do the same.

Thank you for your amazing photography and the great information! I got to see this for the first time this year!
Thanks Melanie! I got inspired earlier this year and decided to visit a couple times for different tides.
Great use of drone footage; another video worth watching. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Tom. Drone especially important at these places to get the shot and keep me safe!
That is a cool transition Matt!
Wow my favorite tik toker!!! Thank you.

@@MattCookOregon Agreed, I need to get up to some snow myself!
Bravo! Another wonderful video. You keep getting better and better at your craft. Thank you for posting this!

I've looked from the top, apparently too lazy to walk down.
