2022 Thank you for sharing this ! I'm 53 and this made me feel like a kid again. The excitement brings a smile to my face. I really enjoy watching your videos. Even at my age I still love to play in the creeks and rivers and build dams . Hello from East Tennessee !
What wonderful quality time for dad and the boys! However, the dam was bound to fail as its top was below the highwater mark (upper line of seaweed). Fun, though!
It took the ocean eons and eons to carve through that rock. It makes me smile to think that this was just one more child in history who attempted this in that same spot, seeing if they would finally be the ones to control the power of Nature. 😊
Amazing rock formations.... perfect setting for Dad and his 2 Sons to bond while facing an immensely powerful foe. In the end when the dam was breached, it wasn't a failure, it was a learning lesson. Next time they face the same foe, they will use a different approach. This is an important *_LIFE LESSON._*
Couldn't agree more, I've only watched a few of their vids since subscribing, and can't resist the urge to say, C'mon lads, there's plenty of time to whack that dam down with a spade an build it higher lol, but maybe I'm missing the point! (It wouldn't be the first time lol) really enjoying the vids regardless 👍👍
Crabs(just now woke up from sleep): Honey why hasn't the water arrived yet? It should've been here by now.... *Comes outside and sees the dam: oh these humans again.....
Always liked doing these kind of things when I was a kid. In this case I would have compacted the sand and add more, search for some rocks or small boulders to put on the front section, maybe even some loose rocks that could act like wave breakers. Gotta stay interesting right? 🙂
Try pressing or compacting 1 foot layers - use a barrel (some sort of wide diametre tube) and just roll it gently before going on to add the next 1 foot of sand (known as a 'lift' in construction) - this imitates natural stratification that happens because of rain and is the process that makes up all natural landscapes - in this case it will harden your dams. Will a 'lift' dam made of sand hold better than a loose-pile dam? Love the channel. great story telling!
I have been here before about 2 years ago Mabye met a really nice boy named dan my age and are Dam was massive just nearly as tall as me and then the sea did it’s job

Hello from East Tennessee !
The best childhood a kids can have.. Fun like this stays forever, not like sitting in your bedroom playing games consoles.
What a wonderful way to spend the day. Thanks for sharing!
I'm 57 and that still looks like fun.😅
I love how the kid kept saying this is it but the dam was still strong and holding up
This kids are working hard
I appreciate them 💜👏👏👏
Love to see a bigger and wider dam construction again! Cheers!

Was it? Well spotted!
Netherlands: "Welcome to the family, son!"
Good effort ! Fun to watch!
Those kids got so much energy they need to invest in buckets and screens to shift through the dirt they could uncover some treasure🤷🤷🤷😎👍

Im 18000 years old and that looks fun!🎉
OK, who came up with this idea, Dad or the kids?
Either way it's great to see Dad and the kids having fun together.
You´ve won, Atlantic... this time...
That's great!😃
Where you do all this?
Ireland
I bet the kids will study hydraulic engineering one day. 😊👍

weird comment but ok
Let's get them to 1million subscribers
Awesome video young man! Get some more buddies to help you build a giant one next time and lose the music… The ocean sounds awesome all buy itself!!

Very enjoyable video 👍👍.

I'm 54 and I still make rock pools at the river😂😂😂 we dont grow up we just get older ❤
The engineers of the Florida coast line need to watch this. Maybe they'll learn something
Captivating video of an interesting experiment
Good job for the dam

Great video
Good idea to do the opposite of your usual videos by making the sea destroy the dam rather than the river
Ture.
I'm really sure this experience was truly fun judging on their reactions.
No wonder the sea levels are rising. These two have dammed the sea.
Some future geography class is going to be studying this area now known as the "Atlantis's Dam"

Nature in the raw is seldom mild.
You'll probably get dam frustrated!😁
Well how do you find these places
That was so cool
Q: What happens when you try to stop the Atlantic with a dam?
A: The Netherlands.
Omg so cool
lol so Irish, trying to stop the Atlantic with sand. 🤣🤣🤣
Now I know who built the Johnstown dam.
I love dams
Stop the Atlantic with sand 😂😂😂😂😂
I haven't watch many of these, but like, what if someone compacted the sand as they went? might work a little better.

It's like carrying sand to the Sahara to build a desert...but nevertheless... Well done!
This is it !
You guys should start sculpting the wall
Good example of how geological wind Gap are formed all over the world
Cool 👍
If ever you made sandcastles on the beach then you'll know the answer to this -- loose sand vs incoming tide - which one wins?
The trick is to put seaweed in the dam and on the surface to keep it together
The dam will.never work unless you thoroughly pack the sand in.
I want to make a joke about Amsterdam but I don’t know how to word it
Men😎
It's foolish to protect tidal forces with sand wall.
ggs for the water
It still shows the erosion of our shoreline

Oh no
Oh
🎼🎹👍👍
Try twice as tall and wide next time :)
I have been here before about 2 years ago Mabye met a really nice boy named dan my age and are Dam was massive just nearly as tall as me and then the sea did it’s job
Where is it?

Hi
Neat video. Coulda done without the repetitive music tho.
У нас есть поговорка, Вода дырочку найдет,,.
The music is unbearable. It sounds like i am sitting in a washing machine set on the spin cycle.
jealous.
