I'm always so happy to hear about how much people prefer the beautiful rocky Oregon coastline more than the California coastline! I used to get frustrated, but then I realized that the fewer people on my local beaches, the better! 😂 Oregon really is a beautiful state, not just the coast. I just really love my lowly part of the world and all of its amazing diversity ❤️
As a local, I do highly recommend our coastline. Highway 101 as shown in the video basically runs the whole coast from top to bottom and takes you along ALL the sights, from Tillamook's cheese factory and it's (last I checked) free tours, to the sea lion caves and newport aquarium, to these natural landmarks that are quite something to see in person! To be honest, I'm afraid to get too close, the rocks can get really slick. Also, in case anyone was wondering, "Yachats" is pronounced "yaw-hawts." It's a native american thing, I think? But they have an amazing set of tide pools at low tide.
The coast is beautiful and I am from Tillamook, but even most people who live in Oregon have only experienced a small percentage of the magnitude of it. The entire state is a wonder. You've done a great job with your video.
I have watched this episode on your channel 3 or 4 times. We just returned home from this area, but we could not enjoy the beauty of this area as you guys did, as it was rainy windy and cold. I was okay with that as I knew I could come back and watch your video any time I need my Oregon coast fix. I am like Dave....I could sit out there all day and watch the waves crashing into the rocks....Breathtaking!!
Right on! I am starting to feel the need for a coastal Oregon fix as well. I think we may have to wait for winter at the earliest. We are going to be adding up the miles this summer. 😀 Wait tell it gets hot, I will be wishing we were there. 😎
Hwy 101 especially through Oregon offers spectacular views!! Wonder videography! The Coast Guard at Depoe Bay works hard on blustery days keeping the returning fishing fleet safe and in one piece!! There's a neat blow hole in the rocks there too. You can get wet from it just standing in the parking area.
That is a gorgeous trail! The magic and beauty of water just amazes me. It also amazes me how beautiful this planet is.... And you guys do a phenomenal job of capturing that beauty!

Wow, the Oregon coast is stunning. I am with Dave on the rocks and waves. I would have been right up to the holes getting wet. Years ago I was in Mexico with my sister's and ruined a camera doing just that! There is a place on the keewenau peninsula called devils washboard...the shore is ancient rock and the best time to go is during storms. Such a relaxing video, that small-town was very cute!!! What a fun place. I visited the Washington shoreline once so I can understand the beauty!!!! Nice job!

Many years ago, took a drive up the coast highway, but time ran out before we made it to Oregon so thanks so much for the gorgeous coastal views and the charming harbor as well.
Beautiful and a wonderful place to escape the heat without crowds of people. 😀 We have driven by this location a few times before but never taken the time to check it out.
I lived in Arcata, ca for years. I love seeing the current videos. You guys missed the lost coast which is the most western point of the lower 48 and is worth the day trip at least. It takes you through old growth redwoods as well as a small town called Ferndale that has remodeled all of downtown area with Swedish/ gingerbread looking houses.
+E Bombs World we love that area and have explored that area pre-van life. We lived in Eureka for a few years and loved it! I hear the crime is really bad now.... we wanted to take a new route that did not include going through eureka 😃
Yachats was my most favourite place as I travelled the west coast back to Canada 🇨🇦 this past February. Thank you for sharing this video and your experience along the Oregon Coast. Excellent videography. Beautiful sound and narration. A little trip away from the coast to see the Tillamook River and farming land is also quite interesting.
The Oregon coast will cool you down fast! We also recommend high altitude Wyoming! We had such a great time near Pinedale. We look forward to you hitting the road!

During a big storm, the waves can crash right up at the place you guys were taping at. It’s awesome! I saw my first whale a mile right off the coast there too. Comparing the SoCal, NoCal, and Oregon coasts are like apples, oranges, and grapes-completely different flavors!

Beautiful footage. I spend a bit of time on the Oregon coast a year and a half ago. Really really enjoyed it. Best US trip except for Hawaii. Both were better than even my European vacations. When I get on the road I will definitely spend a lot on the Oregan coast.

When you guys come to an area, you guys highlight how interesting & beautiful the area is with super camera work & drone flying & comments. You guys are like scouts for us who may visit the places you explore.
I like Depoe Bay too! The miniature size of the bay makes it feel like the cozy setting of a Thomas Kinkade painting. I bet that it was probably a dream station for a Coast Guard swabbie too, am I right Dave?
