You two are the cutest most delightful informative duo ever! I loved learning this recipe. What incredible fortune to have a grandmother like that! Thank you Nonna and Rossella! You made my day!
Love listening to Nonna. She reminds me so much of my Sicilian grandma who is no longer with us unfortunately. Keep on cookin' and sharing your stories of the old country Nonna!
I know this is a pretty old video. I just discovered looking for a true Italian recipe. I love love having and seeing grandma's in the kitchen.. thank you so much for sharing
My grandma would cook big italian feasts & she would watch everybody else eat but she would never eat until everybody else was done. When my fiance first met my grandparents he had a stomoch ache for a week lol, my grandpa kept saying "eat eat" he had never ate so much & drank so much red wine in his life.
Holly Roxy Are you maried i would love to mary an italian and your beautiful miss Roxy😘 lol just jk but foreal though ill make you Some delicious Mexican dishes and you could make me some italian dishes 😁
Been cooking (a true labor of love) for many years and, unbelievably, have never made baked Ziti. Decided to do so and have watched about a dozen other recipes on TH-cam all from trusted sites. I have found yours to be the best for various reasons and have read many of the comments for suggestions, some of which I believe are excellent. Add to that your lovely Nonna and your infatuating gorgeous smile and personality, and I'm sold!
Thanks Rossella, I love your style, your recipes and you make me laugh! Great cookery show with your lovely Nonnas. Thank you from Liverpool, England. XX
Rossella, making this just now, just wondering if it is okay to mix the ziti right in with the sauce and then put it in layers in the pan? Will it still come out good?
Thank you Rossella and Nonna. I will definitely be trying this recipe. I think the fresh mozzarella must be the difference. Thanks for emphasizing that point. Keep up the great work with the videos. I love that you teach along the way, with the tips from your Nonnas.
Fresh mozzarella really does make all the difference and its totally worth the price difference considering its 100% cheese instead of "cheese product" whatever that is! Lol
I make my baked ziti the same way only I use ricotta cheese and fresh mozzarella shredded mozzarella shredded parmesan and you are so right it is all about the layering that's how my father taught me when I was a little girl
I made this and it was delicious! Would have put a little more sauce, but my husband and I were very happy with how it tasted. Thank You for making this video!
Oh Rosella & Nonna Romana this was so so good. I made it in individual dishes & then froze it before adding the mozzarella. I then can bake it as I want it from frozen & put the fresh mozzarella on like you do. Fabulous recipe & as a long time subscriber I look forward to all of your videos.
I am always learning and trying new recipes. I think you're both beautiful and so are all the people in the beginning. Wonderful people and wonderful food. I plan on making this wonderful dish but I will have to find the proper go to assemble it. Thank you both.
Classic Bensonhurst Grand daughter and (nonna)Grand mother. If you watch these 2 you learn little tricks and you get a new level of Italian Cooking also very traditional southern cooking
Thank you..Nonna!!! I love you & your recipe. My dish always has flaws..im gonna try your way..and for the olive oil tip on not to use on pasta, you read my mind😗💋Thank You!
Her granddaughter picked on Nonnie. Throughout the video. No praise as the best cook in the world which her grandmother would like to hear...everyone’s Ziti is equally good she says. “Nonnie picks the tiniest centimeter that is missing the mozzarella” I saw a lot of spots missed. Poor Nonnie. Nonnie just has to go along. Give Nonnie some power! I love Nonnie❤️
Sadly, she does this a lot. I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Her Nonna knows that she is not in charge and must stay quiet. Her body language tells she gets frustrated with the process. She would not get away with treating our Nonna that way! Our Nonna would tell her she is shameless!
Love you and your nonna, she reminds me of my grandma, spunky and full of life making everyone happy just being around her. I would like to know is it possible to get the clay pot, maybe have it shipped from italy. Also, where can I get the baking dish you used? I've got your first cookbook, Great recipes.
Very nice, I love Nonna! As we know, everyone’s recipes are different. My family recipe is similar to the pasta al forno that Laura Vitale makes on her channel. To each his own. I like more meat and variety. Stay blessed, I wish my Noni was still with me!
Oh mama- Mia I just love love your Nonna : * Thank you Nonna for sharing your amazing ziti recipe. I will definitely use fresh mozzarella. Much love to you Nonna & your granddaughter
this looks delicious!! will be cooking this for sure :) ... love your Italian pot and casserole pan, do you have links to where we might be able to buy them? thanks a ton.. blessings :)
luv ur channel ! greetings from Australia ! I was just wondering for the size of the pasta al forno u made here, how many people do you think this dish would serve ? xo
You said you wanted a Thick Sauce after 30mins. However you never said how you did it. Did you Cook Longer or did you add some Paste???? Never told us in video...
Once the sauce is done cooking, why not just put a) stir the cheeses together in a big bowl, b) put the sauce into the big bowl with the cheese and stir together, c) put the pasta into the sauce/cheese mixture in the same big bowl and stir until the ziti are all nicely coated? Then you just put it the coated ziti into the baking dish. I get it if you want a layered appearance, but if you are just feeding a bunch of people and want happy guests and satisfied children, just do this approach!
OettingerCroat you can if you want to, but I like the way the cheeses melt together with the layering, plus my Nonna always did it this way! 😀 But give it a shot the other way and let me know how it goes!
Hey! so I made the ziti a few nights ago, and one inevitability that happens when you mix the sauce in with the cheese as I described when we last spoke - it becomes a bit too watery. It's not swimming, but sometimes when you joust it with your fork, a liquidy water/fat will come through. It tastes amazing! And cleanup is a bit easier. But next time I may just a) reduce the tomato/meat sauce a bit longer, b) put all the meat and only maybe half of the tomato into the cheese mixture. Again though, it was absolutely delicious and I ate leftovers for two days afterwards! Thanks for the delicious recipe. Also try it with Italian sausage, buy it fresh from the butcher then come home and peel the sausage open. Basically ground pork instead of ground beef, with some zesty kick. Grazie e a presto! :*
You two are the cutest most delightful informative duo ever! I loved learning this recipe. What incredible fortune to have a grandmother like that! Thank you Nonna and Rossella! You made my day!
I mix my ziti with ricotta cheese and a raw egg before putting everything together.. It holds the pasta together real nice .
Nonna is so loving! you are very fortunate to have her
Bethzaida Vasquez I know! She's a treasure ❤️

My grandma would cook big italian feasts & she would watch everybody else eat but she would never eat until everybody else was done. 😍😍😍 looks awesome
I miss my nonna, but I'm the nonna now. I think nonnas are the best teacher for grandchildren. If I cook with my daughter we never agree!
You have to teach those little ones, Nonna! Brava!
Dont tell Nonna what to do when shes spreading the mozzarella...she got this! I love her! She should have made this......her way.
we love baked ziti but love Nonna more xxoo
Love the clay pot. Where can I buy it
Fresh mozzarella, pecorino, romano & parmesan cheeses, oh My! ..More cheese the better. Brown, crispy edges & cheese pull are everything 😋🍝.

tatamFrancesca grazie!! 😘😘😘
I need to get a red dish like the one you have. Where did you get it from?
Got that dish at HomeGoods!
I would like to see more better camera shots of the actual cooking. Can really see what's going on in the pots
My favorite thing my nonnie made was meat ravioli with her sauce with all the meats so good
Never had baked ziti without ricotta. That’s the way my mom from Naples, Italy always made it.
You should have mix the noddles with ricotta cheese and sour cream egg and i cup of sauce and then layer
luv ur channel ! greetings from Australia !
I was just wondering for the size of the pasta al forno u made here, how many people do you think this dish would serve ? xo
This could serve about 6-8 people. It depends how hungry they are!!!
what is beccetta baraza?
It was orecchiette Bolognese
OMG that baked ziti it's a beautiful thing mmmmmm
Nona gave you some tough love ( hehe ).
U guys are definitely from Bari!! I know that accent anywhere lol
Gmoms is the OG she didn’t even cool it off on the tasting.. I would of burnt my whole mouth off!!

I absolutely love this dish! Where can I find the clay pot?
Your great, could you please do ANISE COOKIES, OR BLACK PEPPER COOKIES for us, thank you very much.
Always make it with ricotta.

The link to the full recipe and ingredients list is in the box!
I think I'm in love.
I want a big clay pot like that!! LaBella has the small one...where can I get a big one, R? I don't want to steal Nonna's LOL
membernypd I got this particular dish from home goods! La bella is expecting a new shipment soon!!
Grab me one!!! ;-)
Grandma is awesome. Would be a much better video if she didn't talk so much
We always put ricotta and egg in our baked ziti
Why didn’t you show how it looked when you cut into it? Was it runny?
Rosella, is that your kitchen?
you can't call it a baked ziti without the ricotta cheese
I'm going to make this with chickpea pasta!
Rosella your grandmother is beautiful!
Thank You so much! And today is her birthday!!!
Once the sauce is done cooking, why not just put a) stir the cheeses together in a big bowl, b) put the sauce into the big bowl with the cheese and stir together, c) put the pasta into the sauce/cheese mixture in the same big bowl and stir until the ziti are all nicely coated?
