Thank you Rosella for keeping alive all the fantastic traditional recipes of the beautiful Nonna's that might have been lost if it wasn't for your videos. Now the Nonna's can live on and on and will never be forgotten. I love your videos and sometimes when I'm watching I forget they are cooking programmes because they are so entertaining. Your family must be so proud of you.x

Rosella I'm so glad you did this episode. My Nonna used to make these and it was the one recipe nobody in the family saved or practiced enough to memorize before she passed away. So for years I have searched for a similar recipe that I could at least use and reference to try to duplicate her version. Nonna Tina has a different method than my Nonna did but I knew right away the ingredients were the exact same. Can't wait to recreate my Nonna's recipe and also try out Nonna Tina's version! Thank you!

Aside from a delicious recipe, the mini vlog was a nice touch, which in my opinion, made for one of your best videos. Thank you so much, Rosella, for sharing this recipe. I've never even heard of these. A definite must try for me.

You are right! The name is "pallotte cace e ove" and this recipe comes from southern Abruzzo. These "meatballs" are fried exactly like in the video. I ate them just 3 days ago and I love them.

It is incredible that such a recipe, little known even in Italy, is on a youtube channel of Italian-American cuisine. This is a typical recipe in the south of Abruzzo region named "pallotte cac e ove". My mother often cook it and I love it. I suppose Nonna Tina comes from Abruzzo or Molise. Saluti dall'Italia

I'm not sure if Nonna Tina was born in Abruzzo but she did at least live there at one point. Her son Rocco was born there.

These remind me of the delicious potato croquettes my mother used to make. Will try them. I can't make croquettes as good as my mother used to do them maybe this recipe will be better.
