I agree with hitting it with a torch! Not only does it burn off little fibers but gets rid of any condensation from the cold wipe down. You can see it when you first hit it with the torch.
Beautiful work. Lots of patience and steady hands. And trust. Oh man trust! I think I’ve decided that prismatic “clear vision” is the devil! I kinda wished you would’ve explained cost and how you came up with how much you charged.
Very interesting video, you're are an artist, I'm a pro automotive body repair and painter, but I never have the experience to watch a powder coating process a lot of work but a beautiful result .❤
Baby girl couple hints for you when doing removal of powder best way is not using wet cloth it's best if you use a squeegy like a window swiper and a small type of credit card with a rubber or silicon flap on it to get into the tight corners and such to swipe off the powder then use a tape over the swiped area stick on then peel so any left over particulate will come away with the tape as it is peeled.. and my final note to you is please cover up and protect your skin the find particulate can cause severe issues with your pigment cells causing major VITALIGO... this is something I really must stress to you get a proper over suit and gloves and wear a breather hood that protects your skin as well as being fitted with a filter that is suitable to keep your lungs protected from the microscopic particulate an just so you know vitality is only the minor part if skin problems tgat stuff might cause as it can cause severe skin cancer... the company that produced the powder I used liquidated and changed their trader name before I could raise a case against them which is something many powder coat manufacturers do to avoid getting sued please cover up babe you have beautiful skin and have such a lovely completion trust me on this cover up if I'd known what I know now id have been wearing literally a space suit having black skin with white patches where ever the powder was in contact with including places that my hands touched in normal daily life where the powder might of transferred from hands to other parts of my body is not a nice look all because I was in aware of the possible harmful effects of the powders you really need to cover up fully to protect yourself from that stuff it's more harmful than you realise what happens is the particles end up on your pigment cells those cells are lije a flower open absorbing at centre showing coulor like the pollen in center of a flower..but if the cell center us covered then it will close up blocking them from absorbing the vitamin D from sun light this also means when closed the colour is no longer visible...blocking the cell centre causes the cell to close up and become dorment permanantly and it is ireversable...once the cells become dorment it's like tgey die this then triggers more pigment cells around the dorment ones to close and become dorment because they are fooled into closing thinking there us an atmospheric threat that tgey do not want to absorb...it's complicated but if you look it up you'll find much better explanations from scientists it baffled me too when it was explained to me why I had developed VITALIGO from the powders used in the powder coating industry when I used to powder coat metalwork in my early 20s I do hope you will read this and take precautions to protect yourself babe
On a lot of stuff, yes. For example if I’m doing break calipers or anything that is casted you absolutely need to cook em at about 400° for an hour or so. If it was from billet then it’s not as crucial but still good practice. Hope this helps
Meat hooks, basically...lol...love the work...love the girl...shot in the dark speculative idea for you from me for free: can you adapt an airbrush spray gun to blast powder for the small areas such as the tapering ends, bevelling edges on the rim and the joints between hubs and face, etc
Great video! They turned out awesome! I’m a new powder coater here out of Indiana. We mainly do ATV and Motorcycle parts around here but I’m starting to get requests for wheels. I’ve got an idea of single coatings and colors but if you don’t mind me asking, what would you charge on a really labor intensive wheel like these? Thanks!
Great vid. I can rewatch and I learn more each time. Thanks for sharing your process. I’ve powder coated quite a bit (DIY) but the wiping thing seems really hard and you make it look easy (tho I recognize what you did, and the process, is hard work). Curious - in the instructions from prismatic they say you put the part in the oven until flow out but you did it for 20 minutes. In my limited experience, if I leave it in much longer than flow out I have problems with the clear adhering to the base coat even with the KV and pressure down. How did you come to pick 20 minutes? Is it just experience and familiarity with your oven and wheels? Or another reason?
Do they make smaller diameter rims for street machines, or are they mainly for trucks? Is there a link that I can see their different style wheels available?
Everything I've seen over here looks very rough and worse then a good paint job. Is that just what you get or simply a bad job of the company who did it?
What u do is awesome but don't u think it's a smart thing to always wear your gloves so your sweat doesn't get back on the wheels I seen clean them with gloves on then u go and touch them without gloves so your defeating the purpose other than that great job 💪💪
I dont touch the surface that needs powder sticking to it with out gloves. I just don't think finger wiping with a glove on would work as well. Also it would build up static with the rubber & friction, causing alot of problems.
I agree with hitting it with a torch! Not only does it burn off little fibers but gets rid of any condensation from the cold wipe down. You can see it when you first hit it with the torch.
Never have seen anyone do that before, you are very good at your Profession. Very Talented.
Thank you very much!

Since watching you years ago you've always made me want to learn how to powder coat lol I love it

I’ve always heard that you had to bake the aluminum to get it to all gas first is that true?
On a lot of stuff, yes. For example if I’m doing break calipers or anything that is casted you absolutely need to cook em at about 400° for an hour or so. If it was from billet then it’s not as crucial but still good practice. Hope this helps
Must be using Prismatic Powders. I did my calipers Super Chrome Plus with Shocker Yellow over it.

Oh and that little bevel cleaned really does make the wheel look even more amazing. Noticed it in the very final shot. 🔥
Please where can I get the paint powder?
You can get it from Prismatic Powders website!
Can you give me your WhatsApp number or their page?@@LaceyBlair

Roughly..how much does it cost to have my wheels done like this?
$1,200-$2,000 depending on size of the wheel, condition of the wheel, and desired color
i still dont quite understand how to do it, can i send you mine and you show me again ? LOL
You are awesome. It's hard to find someone who is paying attention to detail. Need an address to send my wheels .🙌
You much does it cost to powder coat a wheel or an Engine Bay?
This is crazy

Apparently you didn’t watch the whole video.
Sorry love video just poison build up lol
I’m sorry but that many tattoos makes one look dirty. Why?
Because it’s her arm, not yours, and she doesn’t have to justify it to you? Just a guess.
