    Indian here. Congratulations Abbas, for hosting this high quality discussion. Muzammil seems to have done a lot of deep thinking and reading beforehand on everything he spoke about - because it came out so logical and clear headed.
    Superb analysis of recent history and current events in Pakistan and how it relates to rest of the world.
    Unfortunately, the path to a better future for all of us is not that clear and seems difficult to come by.
    Best wishes for your audience.

    Recently I discovered your channel! I guess you are outside Pakistan. That's why you are still alive and courageous to do such Vlogs.I don't know if Syed Muzzamil is in Pakistan. May God protect him. I am an overseas Pakistani, in mid sixties,it seems Muzzamil and you are speaking my mind. I endorse the opnion about our generation being fixated by the Zia doctrine and have several debates in social gathering negating it. At times being brandish as pro Ahmadi. Although we as a nation have forgotten our real heroes. It's sad that we don't learn from history. When Taliban blew up statues of Buddha in Bamyan,I predicted that wrath of God will be on this nation, and we see what has happened to date. Because Allah has forbidden to persecute on religious and beliefs. Excellent discussion. I am confident such programmes will reform some people and the dogmatic thinking. Social media can bring changes.

    23:00 "Islam is political"
    Spot on!
    The first Muslim person I have seen who is able to accept that Islam is not just a religion, it is also a political movement at the core.
    This is why Islam is inherently antidemocratic: it cannot stay away from politics, and it brings its own political prescriptions that, being medieval in origin, are utterly opposed to principles of modern democracy.

    • @asad-kc8zf
      @asad-kc8zf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Abbas you are doing a great service to the people, I really appreciate your effort. The question that you asked ""How to change the mentality of the people?" Mentality of the people can only be changed when they want to change it. If someone is following liberalism as dogma without critical thinking that too will back fire. In my opinion mentality of people can be changed when they start looking inwards, behavioural change always comes from inside out. Also, showing people the importance of public libraries and reading books will help immensely.

    • @ArmageddonIsHere
      @ArmageddonIsHere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pakistan, being a theocratic Islamic state, is defined by its religion. Thus the mentality of the people of the land is also defined by its religion.
      To change the mentality therefore you have to change the religion. But that is impossible because as everyone knows, Islam is already perfect, being the heaven-revealed religion.
      And therefore there will be no changing the mentality, and the problems will fester. Until eventually the whole body of Pakistan dies its natural death.

    It means "Pakistani Army"
    They can't speak against their army directly ,
    That's why they use this word "Establishment"

As a Bangladeshi myself, it is extremely heartening for me to see a Pakistani political scientist acknowledge the massacre of Bengalis and racism by the Pakistani Army and Junta in 1971 against Bengalis . He acknowledges the massacre of Bengali intellectuals, the brutality of Operation Searchlight, of how Bengali race was looked at as a Nichi Zaat or subordinate race by the Punjabis of West Pakistan.
    He talks about how I’m the name of Islam millions of Bengali Muslims and Hindus were killed and raped
    This requires utmost bravery and I wholeheartedly applaud this talented political scientist .
