What a person! When he says not only muslims have divine message, other religions also have divine messages.
But honestly speaking, your religion, hinduism specifically, doesn't seem like divinely ordained or supported since you guys have tons of evil and nasty practices which is part of your hindu dharam. One such messy practice is the GANGA JAMNA or something like that where all the hindus are ordained to take bath and there are all kinds of animals, people and then even the dead bodies are being laid to rest. How many people will be shitting and pisssing in that river at the sametime not to mention the kids who are always doing something naughty as per their psychological level.
I don't think any Muslim have the guts to listen to Mr Tareek Fatah .

Mr. Abbas, I have seen your previous session also with Tarek sir. It almost seemed like an interrogation rather than a casual discussion. Same it is today. Before inviting people like Tarek sir, research first.
You write "View Point" in the headline of this video, at the same time you interrupt Tarek sir many a times when he speaks.
You are very objective when you are in the session. Let the guest express his views. It seems like you were there to compel the guest what you want to listen but not what the guest really wants to express.
You are lucky to get Mr. Tarek on the panel. Utilise his time and views efficiently.
Stop being objective. He is a much more literate man in terms of Islam whereas you have some selected material.

Very thought provoking discussion! Love it! I agree with Tariq Fateh Sahib, Islam is a very simple religion and we have made it very complicated. We have made things upside down, the things which are very important “READ” that is last on our agenda. The things which are not important, like the way we dress are very important. In my opinion Quran talks about a particular time and place if we are going to go into details but there are definitely universal truths for all times as Tarek Fatah has pointed out and these are very simple things! We are living in a modern society and religion must be kept private! If we are going to argue about religion then no one will win and will create more problems! Secularism is the way to go! Abbas you are doing a great job providing food for though, keep up the good work ❤️

Yes, indeed. Secularism is the way to go. But it's far better to study all religions and compare with humanity, science and technology, universe and then adopt what fits best. Actually, you do not even need to adopt a religion. Just study them and take the best practices out of them and apply them in real life. If only all Islamic countries removed Apostasy and Blasphemy laws and granted absolute freedom of speech, expression, religion, ideas, etc. then we will see a true Golden Age of Humanity begin, as humans will have full freedom to pick and choose and debate and come to a conclusion about religion which had been the only thing that's been stopping scientific progress, unless they find a religion that's deep-rooted in science and offers unimaginable and out of the world knowledge and wisdom.

This is so hilarious interview. What a contrast of style. TF is agile and nimble and constantly evolving because he is so well read and @Abbas who is so structured and sees everything in black and white, struggling to understand the speaker 😁😁😁😁😁.... In the VUCA world 😊 how do you understand complex, multilayered issues with a Unidimensional lense and have a spirit of inquiry?
Abbas sahib tried his best to scuttle the debate by constantly saying that Tarek sahib should stick just to basic and have no discussion on that. He doesn't know that Tarek sahib has done extensive research. Is rational and reasonable, and also too much experienced. But we should appreciate the endeavor of Abbas sahib to indulge in debates.

He is not an scholar of Islam whatever his religion is. I have been to lectures by Jewish and Christian scholars on Islam and their knowledge and understanding was impressive. We Muslims should learn our faith.
He has come out as an atheist, acc to Ex Muslim Harris Sultaan in one of his recent shows. A lot of viewers have asked where this stream is available, but haven't had a definite answer. One can trust Harris Sultan, as he is pretty upfront and has had several run-ins with Tarek Fatah over the years, but he felt that Tarek sahib had shown courage in admitting atheism. Tarek Fatah joined in one of their streams, and upon being questioned, admitted he was an atheist since the 1965 war. He was 15 at the time.

I don't think tarekh fateh is that dumb that he doesn't realize that Islam has violence in it , he is deliberately trying to juggle around by picking only peaceful verses , but anyone who has knowledge on islamic theology knows Islam is full of violence, meccan aayats are only peaceful because at that time Muhammed was not in power , that why he was on Blackfoot but when he gained power then he used all his power to capture , attack and convert , thats when those violent aayats came ,it is called madina aayats , so tarekh fateh is in dillema between his belief and rationalism.
btw according islamic principles tarekh fateh is out of Islam, he is not a Muslim , and bring any big islamic scholar he will declare him as murtad ,
Haider ur responsibility is to ask a clear question. It is the guest's right to answer the question in his own way. Don't try to surround the Guest. Let him or her speak freely. That's what we came on this channel. Ask and then wait. Dont annoy the guest by saying tht ur not getting pin pointed answer.
Good interviewing skills Abbas. You do not have to agree with some one to have a good two way dialogue. The viewers can make up their own minds.
Tarek fateh sir... you are the best to hold mirror to the hypocrites. Hypocrites are sweeping all dirts under the carpet and sleeping over it to keep dreaming of return of cruel islamic rule of 12 th century. Abbas u have no personal experiences. When you interact with different people our mind opens up. Tariq Fateh may not be correct 100%. But try to get his sincere basic idea as to what he is trying to get across.

Dear Abbas you need to learn a lot about the phenomenon of religion with sufficient impartiality and realism. Otherwise, your mind would never be able to catch up with the acumen of people like TF.

A strange interview, no synchronised response. Arguments from here there. Wasn't expected from a person of such a high intellec and author. It reminded me level of discussion at Tea Stalls in neighbourhood of Lahore.
No body denies that muslims don't have any weakness. Problem is we have extremists, there are some who says all is wrong and others say all perfect and we are best.
There is simple way forward, capitalise on our strengths and work on weakness.
Things can get better, needs hardwork and using wisdom blessed be Allah to mankind.
Leaders who served community are always win respect and who issue only Fatwas of Kufur are lost in history.
All respect Sir Syed but no one knows who issued Fatwas against him.
Do something for community to help them move forward simply criticising doesn't serve any.
Non violent Muslims should do something against the violence within Islam. When they are silent, you get what you see in the world today. The problem is most of the non violent muslims agree with the violent ones. They may not commit the violence themselves, but they agree with them most of the time.
There is inherent moral cowardice and corruption within Islam

There had never been an Islamic state. The Nabatians ( ethnic clan of bano Hashim ) were defeated by Ummaiyds ( actually central Asian origin) Moawia and Yazid ( Christian of Eastern Church). They defeated Mola Ali ( killed by a hit man of Moawia) and in the end killed almost the whole family of bano Hashim and in following years they ( Ummaiyds) continued their act of ethnic cleansing/ genocide of bano Hashim. The both dynasties ( Ummaiyds & Abbasids) were not Arabs, but were central Asians.
Both Ummaiyds are Abbasids were from Quraysh tribe of Mecca. They were not from central Asia. Prophet Muhammad and Abbasids belonged to Banu Hashim clan of the Quraysh tribe.

It's funny that all I see from Mr Tarek Fatah sahab is argumentative skills like throwing light tangents into the argument which would derail the conversation to another realm, certain cherry picked inconsistent facts etc. No real solid arguments. He's smart in that he has some foundational knowledge of history and he can control the flow of the conversation and he's taking full advantage of the fact that Abbas isn't here to debate with him but just to interview him. Little religious knowledge. Frankly what I see is he's trying hard to skew historical facts into fitting his narrative by picking and choosing interpretations and not seeing things for what they really are.
Like every opinion he threw at abbas is so well built over a layer of preconceived notions that deconstructing them would fully derail the entire interview. And Abbas knew that
