Peter was doing them a favour by offering to put the money in as they hadn't really done anything yet. Valuing it at 120k was actually generous as they had made about 5k profit. He could have fairly valued it at around 70k in my opinion! Just because you have started something and it means something to you doesn't make it valuable.

I just don't get why some people get so fixated on percentages of equity. They're turning over £30k, which is peanuts, yet if they had a dragon helping them that would change to hundreds of thousands, and 75% of hundreds of thousands is better than 100% of the profit they made from the £30k, which was around £5k profit. If you can't do these simple calculations you shouldn't be running a business.
Complete idiots for turning down 25% when they don't even have that valuation in sales alone. Peter was incredibly generous with that offer & it needs a massive rebranding. I most likely will never see this here in the USA, but if I do by chance, you don't have a customer.
They need to put the story on the packs. Also the retail power of TS should have been harnessed not just for selling their packages but also a coffee shop. And so many times entrepreneurs fail to understand that the dragons increase the valuation so significantly that the 5% or 10% doesn't matter
