Glad you posted this. I was 27 years old and drove from Louisiana to be there that day. I’m 61 years old now, and can’t believe it was that long ago!

I'm a Tom Landry-era Dallas Cowboys fan. I began watching in 1964 as an eight year old kid. Thank you Coach Tom Landry for your 29 wonderful years of coaching and leadership.
It just wouldn't have been the same without you......and it obviously hasn't been the same.

It's great to think that each and every person there that day came because they deeply loved and respected a true icon Tom Landry . I miss him so very very much. The world could surely need his shining example of what it means to be a man of integrity and class. He was a natural born leader. But to those of us who were lucky to live through and follow his career we will always carry a part of Tom's inspiration and example within our hearts and thoughts. To make the world a better place and to a good and respectful citizen.

Been a Cowboys fan since 1969, but I must say that when Landry left, so did the class and dignity of the Cowboys.

The Texas Sports Hall of Fame held a large vote to determine who to name the main theater for in Waco. A meaningful name was desired . Not a sponsors name…..the name could not have been bought. Many names were considered Hogan , Nelson , Staubach , etc….the name that was ultimately selected was a unanimous selection. Coach Landry….despite the other great names ……there really was no other choice . Come see the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and be sure to see the Tom Landry Theater.

I’ve been a Cowboy fan since 1973. This is my Coach and ONLY coach that should ever be in the Dallas Cowboy Ring of Honor. Jerry you screwed up once, do not screw up again.

He should have hot to leave under his own terms. He gave his whole life to the cowboys. And was dismissed the wrong way.

Would you believe that Warren Moon went UNDRAFTED that year!!!!

      Cecil Treadw....
Why? Dallas had Danny White, the Number three ranked
      Cowboys QB of all-time.🏈

He was definitely a class act.
Especially compared to the Jerry Jones circus that followed.
However, you can tell here from this speech that he was starting to slip Mentally.
As unpopular as this sounds, it was time for him to step down. He was being out coached by quicker minds and more innovative opponents
