    Hi bud. Since I can and no one else has ide like to take the time to thank you for the time effort and money you put into making these videos for us. I have learned more from your videos about wiring than I ever did in shop class back in the day. Not only are you smart but patient and very good at teaching.     I want the alis chalmer i saw in the back ground. I have found several but nobody wants to sell them or they want a ridiculous amount for them. It looks to cold for me there anyway. Good video, works for me.

    Ordered the same 'package' short a momentary on starter switch. Turned out to be an open circuit on the BLUE/w (pick up sensor), bypassed the main loom by crimp connection. Would avoid wire nuts, as solid state components tend to act sketchy on such a poor connection.
    No lights to begin with, as the BLUE to Gr(een)ound O/F had disconnected. Used BROWN and BROWN to Grd for BLACK/w, via Off position of light switch, making H/L engine on. Don't forget, rear brake safety must be closed to engage starter relay + push button (momentary on). PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT TO KEEP AN ENGINE KILL 'THUMB' SWITCH AND STARTER LOCKOUTS, FOR SAFETY OF THE LESS EXPERIENCED!

    I've worked on these there no hard to rewire I've done it the best way is to completely remove the factory wiring harness theres not many safety features of if any at all though some of them have reverse rev limiter but not to hard

    HARV,,, I ordered the wiring kit like yours,(DC-4pin) ,tested cont.on all wires & voltage to cdi.installed new pulse -it pulses..,,coils tested bad got a new1,&new cdi. now still no spark tryed 4 plugs,,,huh,i have contant 12volts on both coil wires?? so what pulses the coil to spark,,,after a few days i hooked up the kill button& key switch///still no-spark..thx Harvey,,,,your videos -r-great,,TRYING TO GET OUT &ENJOY EACH DAY

    Hey Harvey , your videos are all great , thank you 🙏 . I had no spark on mine and decided to change the harness because it was too old and all the electronics as well , CDI , stator ,coil ... And still have no spark 🤯. I removed the kill switch pin and looked at all your videos 😜😂 , but still the same. What would you do? Thank you

      I have the same problem, second harness kit is on the way. If that is not it, I will strip it down to just the basics like this video shows.

      no, they are not lazy, they are looking to fix it, but also think that the guy probably has had some experience with other things as well , pertaining to an ATV. also wanting to fix it '' now '' , instead of daunting hours of probably not finding what they are looking for.

    Hiw you you suplex power to the cdi box. I know there is 2 types of cdi, but we both have the 5 pin box. I have the wire harness in the mail, but Is that one powered by the magneto, or I'm assuming the battery?

    Hey Harvey taking a look at this video my taotao110 has a black box like this one that has the rusted connector or whatever. Mine has a clicking noise when I put power to it but I have a terrible spark. What is that black box and could it be affecting my spark

    i bought two gio 250 4 stroke dirt bike pit bikes for 200 canadian and not running. both bikes i rebuilt top end replaced all fuel lines completely cleaned the pz30 carbs blah blah blah. no start no spark good battery. then i traced the wiring and noticed some if not most were junk so i started un wrapping the wire loom as i did that more and more problems were found then i got to a point where it all needed to be replaced. after a couple hours if doing the wires from scratch i was able to get the power switch and start button working to turn the quad over as which brought fuel to the plug but for the life of me i could not get the plug to fire. The stator wires and the cdi original colors were so wrong and getting some super wired muti meter readings so i was getting a little stumped on what was going on. Then i watched every one of these videos you made and i even built one of you easy start boxes. needless to say both bikes are running and its all thanks to you my friend! your saved me from weeks of head akes and failed attempts. You are the man! thank you.

    On here you mention it came with the key fob? I'm sorry I knowbthats not what your saying but whatbisbthe black square box u took off that was burned and the wires were cut on it? My taotao 110b1 has one and it's clicking over and over and seems to be making a faint alarm noise? Is there anyway to just disconnect it and the bike still run? Because I don't understand what it is. It has about 6 or 7 wires coming out of it and I don't want it to kill my battery because of the clicking. ]please help Harvey I asked the same question on another video of yours but when I seen this one I figured it was easier when it's in the video so u will understand

    hi can you tell me why oil would be spitting out the front of the motor through a hose nipple smoke also comes from there and if you plug it it builds up pressure

      Hey Colin, For some reason, Ur crankcase is pressurizing... It can be due to too much oil in the crankcase, too thin oil, gasoline in the oil, a blown head gasket, or worn rings... Start with an oil change, go with the heaviest viscosity oil that U are comfortable using.... Turn off the gas when the engine is not being used, see if that helps....     and thank you for you vid i will hafe to do this to mine as the key harnes twised and the hot touched a ground for 4 secs i resoldered the wires back in place and it powered the starter but will not start so i am thinking just the cdi but you never no and i do not like all the wires this thing has wires every whar what a mess well lets fix that

      @@HarveySpooner i looked at it hooked the battery back up and tryed to start it and the motor turns but will not start i put a screw driver in the spark plug fitting and put it right next to the spark plug and no spark so i held the screw driver metal on my hand and hit the starter no spark but the motor turns with the starter the key fob lock with not click click click i am sure i burned something out but i did buy the ebay parts the same one you put on your atv so with my starter working can i just hook up the parts from ebay leveing the rest alone would my starter still work then ill just put a on off switch off the + of the battery and after started flip the switch to off so it wont drain the battery. sorry if u can follow that anyway i no its a bit much my new parts will be here feb 4th

    Good for you Harvey, I didn't get far academically. Funny the guy I cheated from failed miserably. Can you explain why a 4t CDI causes four stroking on a 2t engine? They are both AC charged scooters and one performance [orange ]CDI works well for both. My guess its the capacitor maybe as the 2t fires 2x the speed. Also, my 2t CDI s give up quickly now that upgrades let it rev higher than 7,500. Exciter coil 75V normal, good earth. I read somewhere that the 4t will spark in between strokes anyway, I think because of the flywheel striking the pickup every revolution. I saw a CDI split open and capacitors attached in parallel for optimized spark if that may help? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Will this work on the China 250cc Trail Rover 250cx I believe is what it's called? The person I purchased from I guess didn't know know a wire was loose in the left controls assembly. He bypassed the ignition switch well its actually not there, instead is a HUGE momentary pushbutton that when pressed, it sends battery voltage straight to starter, not solenoid!?!?...needless to say that switch only lasted a handful of cranks....lol. The kill switch works but the start & headlights switches don't work. If you know this will work, let me know.....one thing the 250 has is the choke lever as part of left handlebar controls assembly. I have no idea how many wires are "supposed" to go to the ignition key switch either? Thanks for any information

    Hi Harvey, I have a lifan dinosaur 250cc with the wiring loom fried. It has a Fmm253 twin cylinder engine in it, I'm wondering could I do this trick with it by joining the two plug leads together?

    cant u run the the starter button one end to the + on the battery and the other line to the starter pushing the button basicly says power when pushed and when released no power basicly a off and on botton a light switch if you can do that with putting the jump box on and it gives power then its the same thing off and on

      Hey Robert, The starter button is not strong enough to power the starter directly, the power will melt the switch... One needs a solenoid to carry the battery power to the starter.... If U need to power the starter without a solenoid, power it directly from the battery, just beware that there is a lot of power and a lot of heat will be generated, sparks will hurt Ur eyes, can spark a fire, and the screwdriver, wire, or piece of metal U use will get crazy hot....

    hi mate ive got an xtm 250 and on the cdi i have the same as you but for some reason i have white/red stripe coming from stator instead of blue and white? would it still be the same? its got no spark at the moment so im asking if i should put white/red stripe into blue white

    I bought the tao Tao 125 from tribal motorsports 3 years ago. It came destroyed in the shipping and I bought the extra warranty and they replaced the gas cap that was crushed and gave me new cargo brackets and some other stuff that wasn't needed. A week after the muffler inside fell apart so I opened another claim and they gave me run around saying they are waiting on the part from China it'll be a few weeks I said no problem thanks well they never replaced my parts after arguing with them all the time and then saying they replaced stuff for me already and they won't honor the warranty I bought even after sending them pictures and videos. The quad no does not run no spark at all and I can't figure it out. Kid rode the quad for about a month with the muffler rumbling and chattering sounding like a 2 stroke before it snapped off complete. I rebuilt the baffles and welded it back up and it ran for another month before it just died in the middle of riding and no longer has spark. Hasn't ran in over 2 years now. Kinda have it in the back burner because I'm working on a few other quads as well as rebuilding the roof and foundation of my home so now I'm back to the tao Tao. Can't figure it out.

    Hi mate i have a Chinese quad that had a similar wire harness 2 this 1 I took it all off an put a new 1 I got off eBay apart from the new stator an coil pack no matter what I do 2 try ground it turns over as soon as I put the leads on the battery even tho the key an non off the run switches are on me dad seems 2 fink it's a bad ground so I have watched a few off you vids 2 try it but still no joy

      Hey Kyle, it sounds to me like Ur starting solenoid is locked on, shorted, miss wired, or the red wire with the yellow or orange stripe that goes to the starting relay is stuck at +12VDC... Give these a check and let me know what U find.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!!

      Hi harvey i went an got me a volt meter today 2 go threw the wiring as in 1 off your over videos I put it 2 the lowest setting put the black 2 the frame an the red 2 the shiney looking screw on the engine casing an the meter is going mental so I fink the ground isn't good

    Hi, I've watched more than a few of your videos on the china engine wiring issues, and i recently got a used 2016 Apollo 250cc dirt bike, the agb-36, and it would not run, so i did what you did and simplified the harness to what it needs to run, and i have the 4+2 pin cdi, the bike used to have electric start and battery, however, i do not know if i still need a battery for the cdi, the wires coming out of the engine are 2 yellow ac power, those run to the rectifier, and the blue/white and ground. i get spark, but it is very weak, could it be that the cdi is supposed to get ac current instead of the rectified 12v that is currently feeding it. I've also considered the ignition coil has also got bad. (all grounds are good)(kick and electric start)

      Open circuit on relay engaging (low current input) side of the component, to include grounding.

    i've got the same engine and there is spark and compression but when i turn it over with a new carb it doesn't want to start

      Hey Camden, I had the same situation, it was caused by loose head bolts... I would do a compression leak test, to make sure there are no engine leaks.... Thanks for asking, watching, and commenting!!!

      Blue & yellow is the same as blue & white pulse gen. Black & red is power.

    I have a chinese atv i dosent have spark i dont know if you have a email or number where i can send you a video of what it does it crank but dosent spark only have like 3 hours max of use and was keep storage for like 6 months carb is clean always use the best gasoline only problem no spark i hope i get an answer from you

      Hey Sara, Modern Quads and Motorcycles require a CDI, Pulse generator, power source, (battery or stator), and spark plug to start and run.... If any pieces, like a CDI box are missing, they do not start.... Going back to points on a modern quad or motorcycle would be a difficult custom engineering task....     This wire harnesses are so easy to diagnose. I’m baffled that you couldn’t narrow down what was wrong with harness.

      @@HarveySpooner Thanks for having a good sense of humour Mr Spooner. I spent way more time for sure being clueless mostly, l had to. If you expose the loom at the fattest points large pieces of the puzzle are revealed, an earth wire is spliced or crimped to make 5 or ignition red after the switch splicers into 4 red and white going to what needs power when the key is on. But still l get tripped up by say , 4 pin plug to the regulator pin out diagonally changed , Why ? CDI u tube expert made sense saying it's always a short from the earth to any wire is the fail test, not so as I found out , no short AC performance CDI with led pulsing on off but no discharge spark . Lol. You the man.
