What marriage documents are unique to Poland?
The documents required for a marriage in Poland are:
• Photo identity documents for both spouses;
• Copy of the birth certificates of both spouses;
• An abridged copy of a previous divorce or death certificate, or marriage annulment if applicable;
• Certificate of non-impediment to marriage for the Canadian national;
• Marriage rites in line with the traditions of the given church or religious institution:
o Baptism certificate;
o Certificate of attendance of premarital classes;
o Certificate of attendance of family meetings.
The documents from the above list must be translated into Polish by a sworn court translator.
