Your preordain M3G2 - I think you 100% should have kept the land and hid the Oath of Druids on top of your library, since oppo's deck was so discard heavy.
That being said, you were currently 0-5, so I understand being in the "whatever happens happens" mode

Before casting Time Spiral G1 I feel like there was a pretty good line with Frantic Search, discard Atraxa, Animate Dead and play Leovold to prevent The One Ring from drawing. Lifelink saves us from attacks too.
Yeah not sure I understood casting Time Spiral at 1 life when the opponent has no cards in hand and you have a bunch.

Im surprised LSV didnt touch on what i see as the biggest issue with the deck, basically no interaction. Witherbloom Cammand is good, but didnt line up well. Reprieve never resolved. Thats basically the extent of the interaction.
Yeah, and this isn't the first time it has happened. Drafts a bunch of good cards but no interaction or removal, gets creamed.
@@JadedStranger TBF, that's just how drafts go sometimes. I've drafted decks like this. I think drafting more interaction is a good tip, but not one LSV doesn't know. He properly rates Swords, Thoughtseize, Mana Drain, etc... It just didn't line up this time.
I like to watch the draft portion so I can "hmm yes, that's not how I would have done it", or "oh yes this is a great deck!" then I save the play for after lunch so I can forget whatever I thought and assume any 3-0 was something I agreed with and any 0-3 is something I would have done differently. It's free therapy for my ego.
Best deck I've ever seen LSV draft, without a doubt.

@@jordanewers5375 only 1 he just came down and bounced Atraxa after the first hard cast. Second attempt gets remanded. Maybe Frantic Search gets remanded but you still end up with 2 untapped and a land drop to get Leo down

I'm curious about the reprieve pick (p1p4), are you just trying to stay open? I consider troll a great pickup if you're looking to reanimate, and you already have Atraxa, am I tunneling?

I think game 1 it was better to just play atraxa and pass bc that gives him only 3 cards to find an answer to atraxa or a burn spell instead of 8 26:30
Would have been much better to go frantic search - animate dead atraxa or etali (he could have kept etali off of preordained)

It is really hard to have a good oath deck in cube. Given that you can't basically play any non-game-winning creature you need to have a lot of interaction to negate enemy counterplay or a bunch of superfriends that they have to get rid of. This deck had basically no win condition, your big creatures are just setup spells: Atraxa is basically an expensive tutor (yeh it attacks for 7 but you need to be able to protect her for 4 turns assuming they don't block it), similarly for Etali you are just fishing for lucky hits on the opponent deck (most of your spells don't do much). Etali is also very risky to play with oath: if you flip average creatures and play them they can use oath as well, if you attack they can chump losing their small creature, saving HP and allowing them to oath something new as well. And so on until they fetch something big and turn the tables on you.
Keeping on the displacer kitten plan could have worked better, maybe picking up other kitten targets such as mightstone and weakstone. It is also useful to have some creature that have no creature card in your deck. But also weird stuff like hardcast batterskull (which you can also pay 3 to get back into your hand), daretti/saheeli, some stupid zuran orb/wrenn & six/exploration combo that force the enemy to tap out to get more creature out in order to race your life gain (and thus fall into the oath trap, even if you have some token creature out).
Like anyways. I enjoy this more than boring 1+2+3 decks ^^. Keep comming up with spice!
I think LSV forgot that Lutri only targets your spells, it’s not Dualcaster Mage
After the poor performance of this deck we need your top decks you've drafted over the past months/year. Maybe even get Numot to be opposite in a 1v1 of your best decks vs his best decks?
I was so excited to see you finally pick and play with From the Catacombs (I was so worried you'd decide to cut it). I don't understand why you would take preordain over it on the Atraxa flip in M1G1 though! It seems like once you have 5 mana, it's one of the best things you can be doing, and it was insurance against a bounce *and* makes Etali a very live draw. If you had gone Frantic into From the Catacombs instead of recast Atraxa, you wouldn't have had to shock, and you have the option of Etali or Atraxa on the next turn after the remand *and* you get to play Leovold which turns off Jace and the One Ring. I think you're very ahead at that point since if you survive a turn, you get to flashback From the Catacombs and bring the other fatty in.
Of course you ended up going 0-3 now that you finally played with the card (think this was the first time in a published draft video?) so this draft was such a bummer because I find it so fun to see that card do its thing. I think because you just didn't have either removal or a consistent way to get creatures in your graveyard, the deck just wasn't very good. It seems like it's best in midrange decks that have some reanimation capacity, because if you just trade off with creatures, discard, and removal, and then play FTC, it's like a 4 for 1 that is also positive tempo.
this is a pretty good example opf why i dont enjoy playing powered cubes. so often no other cards matter.

Why didn't you lutri the mana drain instead of the reanimate in game one? Seems like with the Atraxa trigger, you wouldn't complain about the extra mana during your second main
That would be an illegal play
Meaning, Lutri only copies your own spells.
