I got my license about 20 years ago and never got on a bike since. But I fell in love with the matte black 2021 r3 and said it's time and I bought it. So here I am relearning how to ride again. Watching tons of videos which i have for the most part already knew and handling some what well. I'm just very nervous still, so i will stick with my couple of blocks for a while hahaha. Thanks to all of you guys putting out videos for us, greatly appreciated!!
After a short demo ride a few weeks ago, I totally want an R3 for commuting and weekend fun on the local twisty roads (and maybe some road trips to some fun places to ride). My 2009 Concours 1400 is just getting to be a lot of bike for commuting through traffic in and out of the city. The Concours is a wonderful fire-breathing battle dragon on the highway, but big dragons get clumsy in tight places. At 51 years old, with 33 years of riding experience and a 30" inseam, I'll be happy to have a light nimble bike for daily use (R3 @ 368 pounds vs the Concours 14 at 688 pounds!). And I'll be keeping my 2003 BMW R1150RT-P for long-distance highway trips, so that's still covered, too. I can't wait to sell my C14 and pick up a brand new R3 ABS!
At 0:22 - the awful feeling you get when you enter a sweeping bent at nearly 60mph and all of a sudden you see water on the road Fortunately, the other lane was dry!
Thanks for the review. I loved the video, I am doing a 2 night sleep to figure out if I want the bike. I have a vstar 1100 classic cruiser that I don't ride much anymore. The one I will buy is the 2021 beautiful yamaha blue. Thanks again my friend, I think my mind might be made up before Monday. 👍
Liked the clip,!! Looks like you be in the Thornton area, . Yes the R3 is 222222222222 much fun to ride, even if your 61 years young, Maybe we can ride together as I be just up the road a tad. Keep up the good work!!!. New Be'S R3 is a GREAT PLACE TO START.Be safe all Ride your own ride ,N God Bless:) Greg AKA Skinz
Brilliant work on this channel. I've got the same bike (2020 Monster edition lol) and I love it. Your paint scheme is beautiful. Here in western NC there's barely a straight road anywhere. Up in the mountains it's ALL twistys and this bike really shines here. So light it's like a dream. Don't over mod your bike. Tail tidy, Akra slip on (these 2 mods bring the weight down even more) and some T Rex crash protection and you'd be GOLDEN. Enjoy your bike bro, ride often, and be safe. 😀😀
I'm watching this because I'm not so decided between R3 and the 390 Duke 🙆🏼♂️ I know that they're different & I never rode a naked before, I'm very curious about it.. but damn I love sports bikes. I started with Aprilia RS50, then the Yamaha YZF R125 and I'm going to double the cc till 1200cc, so I'm looking for my 300 and everything on the internet it leads me to this bike, it looks phenomenal and with a better exhaust you cand make it sound like a little beast. But I also heard that people had some problems when they switch gears, cause it goes neutral and you find yourself in the middle of the intersection with your bike at max rev 😅 That's not pretty much to like, but I hope that not all the bikes have this problem. Thanks a lot for your review, very helpful! 👍🏼
Great review. Nicely done. Also you’re brave to ride in this damp road conditions. From Alaska I’m terrified of exactly this weather. Telling difference between water and sheet ice is life or death
I have the same bike, 2020 R3. With ABS. I could not tell whether yours has ABS sticker on the fender or not. It is nice to get a perspective from a rider who used to rider bigger bikes. Watching videos like this really motivates me to keep the bike longer. I have had mine for only a month but I will always be curious about getting a R6...
R6 is on the fringe of something you could use as a daily. I dont use my r3 as a daily, but I think it would be better suited than an r6. The new r7 would be a more appropriate daily.
I've got the same bike in black I've got a M4 street slayer slipon dynojet power comander bar end mirrors chain guard plates barends bunch of othetcmods R6THROTTLE TUBE I CAN GO ON I LOVE IT
It’s a great bike! Really easy to learn. It flicks over really easy while also feeling planted to the ground. The wing screen also does a great job at highway speeds. Ergos are nice as well. The ride can be very relaxed or if you want something more sporty... the seat let’s you sit your butt further back on the seat to have more of a sporty ride
@@Enchante_Oscuro I’m 5”11 and I love my bike the suspension is reasonably comfortable for a sport bike the only thing I dislike is that my knees hug the fairing under the tank instead of on the side of the tank, like I’m too short do it? Idk I can fully stand flat foot it’s a short bike
@@chukob5 thank you so much dude for your response. And would you plz tell me any more negatives of you bike and which year it is . It would be great thanks 😊
I got a CBR300R just last November and I’m still good with it. Yea the power is weak but it’s enough for back roading and commute. I may just trade up for the R3 or MT07 to really get the skills down. I love the 300 gang lol Nice bike
Can you make a video of best exhaust for R3? I live in norway and i cannot get a heavy bike Like R1, R6 etc. so i have to get a "medium" bike which is bigger than the 125cc but smaller than the big ones which are 600cc. I currently have a Yamaha yzf 125cc Cause that is the one i can drive atm. But i'm going to take the licenses for medium bike and R3 is by far the best option out there. It's almost like my current 125cc bike and i also like Yamaha. But there isn't that many good vidoes with stock exhaust sound. So can you make one?
Just looked one of these up and they msrp for like 4999 that's really cheap for what you get out of it. People always made it seem like bikes were super expensive honestly only reason I don't already have one is it's such a hassle to get the license
the only thing i didn't like about it they still didn't put a slipper clutch thats the only missing the bike would be perfect👌 but still im in love with my yamaha r3 2020 matte black with gold inverted fork edition,i will totally change brake pad for much better braking
@@MotoChrisOfficial 2019 model? man i love that color because of the white sticker and the tank is matte too sadly its phased out on my country, there releasing 2020 models here maybe 2021 too
I noticed you were not clutch all the way in each shift and twice you didn't even clutch while up shifting. Is it going to damage the engine? Just curious.
no motorcycles are straight cut sequentials so as long as you unload the transmission it is fine. this can be done by clutching in or by letting off the throttle or a split second
With the GP Team bikes being Blue/Black I don’t get why they ditched the 18/19 styling for this new silver accent. It looks so bad compared to the black accenting of the 19 R3 or the 18’ R6
You should rename that video! "yamaha r3...just know it's everthing you need". Cuz it seems nobody knows. ..everybody wants an hyperspace busa with quadruple turbos and 2 supercharge that run on NOS instead of gas!
While riding with the high beams in seems like a good idea on paper in reality it’s stupid because you are making people squint so there goes that more visibly theory. And yes I’ve been riding for 38 years not two so a lot of road experience. Super loud pipes and high beams cause accidents not prevent them.
Thumb down for what you said about the beam lights! You should NOT use them all the time, it's extremely egoist. If you care about your safety so much, wear reflective jacket, not a black jacket like the one you use on the video. Ahhh, but it doesn't look cool, right? Yeaaaaah, it's better to dazzle car drivers, I get it. By the way, I've been riding the motorcycle since 2004, it's not that I'm an annoyed car driver and write such comments because of it ...
