The first time i beat Hades was in like 9 hours, if you upgrade your death defy to max and figure out what boons are good it's not too hard to complete a run. My basic strategy (with spear) is to get athena boon to have dash deflect, then try to get flurry jab while getting some ability that notably ups attack. Collect as many centaur hearts as you can and make sure to get a call, and you should be pretty good.
You can do it in a lot fewer. Got really lucky stumbling onto God tier build that just carried me to Hades at like 6 hours. I got this armor destroying build where my main shot would cause my special to onto an enemy with the bow and I was doing stupid amounts of damage. Took another 6 hours to get a win with a cobbled together shield build.

I feel like it should still be a 95% , what Hades lacks in variety, it just does so much more with story, voice acting.. art.. so yea. But ay its your review not mine so.
It does feel like it but sadly the main point for rougelike is their variety of items to make your game even more chaotic. But that doesn't mean they didn't put effort in other aspects. The music fucking slaps
It has a shit ton of variety with the gods, weapon aspects and all the stuff you can put together. But unlike other roguelikes, it trades a bit of chaotic randomness for some freaking well needed control over your build. Not a ton but enough where you dont feel like just being given random crap and told to deal with it.
Chill out, what ya yellin' for? Lay back, it's all been done before. And if you could only let it be, you will see that I am the funniest TH-camr of all time. Admit it, my dear follower liam
"Only" seems counter-intuitive, since approximately 0.02% of the world is water. This would result in a 5000 times increase in the amout of water if the moist meter did not exist
My first interaction with supergiant was hearing "we all become" from transistor on a radioradar podcast back when it first came out. I was so floored that i HAD to buy it. Goosebumps the second i heard her voice. First time my friend reccomended hades to me, he said i would love it for the soundtrack. He played me like 2 seconds of the music and i said... "there's no way this isnt darren korb. Because i want to buy this game right now." Lol
I heard some friends played it, didnt think too much about it. Few days ago "No escape" Popped up on my spotify and it absolutely slapped, I looked at the album picture, saw Hades. Hades was on steam sale yesterday so there you go. Already loving it.
_Acktually_ Binding of Isaac, this, gungeon, risk of rain 2 and 90% of what people consider roguelikes are actually roguelites. Roguelikes are games like Caves of Qud, Dungeon Crawl, Cataclysm and Nethack. If it's got pretty graphics and doesn't look like it could run on a calculator, it's a roguelite. Roguelikes are also sufficiently more difficult and longer in length. I apologize, I play too many games, I'll leave.
This was never a game I would have typically played nor did I even know of its existence, the only reason I am playing it because I just got done watching the 2022 Game Awards and saw a trailer for Hades 2 and It looked beyond incredible. I can't believe i've never played this before because I'm such a massive fan of Mythology especially Greek Mythology, I've only played about 3 hours so far but wow what an incredibly fun game, I actually think this might crack my top 10 or 5 games of all time and I'm only like 3 hours in so that should really say something.
i started playing it and i’m about 3 hours in and i’m completely in love with the game. the art, the characters, the lore, the music and just how unique and fun the game is insane. i think i’m definitely going to be preordering the second game.

This game is probably my favorite rogue-like, I bought it when Hades 2 was announced and I'm already 46 hours in and now I'm trying to get all the achievements. I never thought I'd be completely blown away by a rogue-like, whether it's the story, the gameplay, the soundtrack or the art, everything is stunning and I love it so much

@Cpt Dinosaur You may have personally disliked it but clearly it's not "ass" considering you are in the VERY small minority of people who didn't like the game.
I love the spear with zues's boon that makes your main attack deal chain lightinging. That and the upgrade where it won't allow u to spin but instead hold attack for a fast and constant ranged jab
I know I am late but I still think Hades deserves a 95 on the meter. Even though it lacks more variety with the weapons the amount of dialogue and story the game has to offer is absolutely incredible, not once in my 30 hours of play time have i encountered a repeated line, all of it is fresh. While Risk of Rain 2 definitely has more variety with the amount of items AND different characters. The amount of life and personallity the voice actors give these characters and amount of dialogue they had to read is absolutely incredible. I would say both Hades and RoR2 are both at a 95 for their different ways. With Hades leaning more on story telling dialogue and RoR2 leaning more on play styles, both are incredibly good and unique.

Honestly, Hades might be my favorite Supergiant game yet. I've played all four, and they're all really good, but it feels like each one is even better than the last.
I bought this and Super Mario 3D All Stars this weekend (and I only bought Hades because it was on sale on Switch). I played the first few shines on Sunshine but spent the rest of the weekend playing Hades. This game is wild.
I've been playing Sunshine and I swear what is wrong with the L stick? It's like I can't aim the F.L.U.D. correctly and I don't know if it's a design flaw and that's why people dislike this one more than 64.
I've been playing Hades for around a year now, and the game has really come together. Hades is really fucking great, the lore is surprisingly accurate and also the story is very interesting. I am now on my 75th run through the chambers, and only recently have I been able to complete the runs every time, so playability is very good. Strong recommend
Been playing this since early Early Access and it took me 40 hours before I heard even one repeated voice line from one of the gods. It's _insane_ how much content they put into this game. And as testament to how fun it is: i fucking suck at it and I still love it. 100+ run attempts and I've only gotten out 3 times lol
I originally purchased Hades just because it came with a free copy of Pyre for a special sale, and I've ended up playing Hades WAY longer than Pyre just because of how fun of a roguelike it is. Absolutely worth the money I paid for it.
Check out gunfire reborn. It’s another rogue like but also a FPS. It’s still in it’s early stages of the game but what they have so far is really good.

Ive had this game since early access Chaos Update and im so glad that everybody is giving it love!
Watching this just made me want to go play more
Bastion is one of my favorite games ever. I am so excited to try Hades when I have the chance.
Damn it took me 40 attempts to finally beat hades. Amazing game I love it.
Congrats on 6mill 🥳
With moonlighter, wizard of legend and dead cells switch rogue like games might be my fav genre
Pretty sure consoles dont influence genres but ok.
@@lordpetroollo6979 what?
I guess you could say it's .. one hell of a game.
Now we need Charlie to play Spelunky 2
I die just for the music and the witty Zagreus dialogue
“Took me about 15 attempt to finish my first run” goddamn I’m going on 30 and I haven’t even beaten dad yet
I have extremely horrible swamp ass today.
Same
You initiated moisture
Use baby powder it's a godsend
Edit: after you shower
It’s really sick to see a big youtuber talk about this game, been playing since early access and I love it.
Charlie should play enter the gungeon if he’s starting to warm up to rouge likes
Congrats on 6 mil!
Guess you can say hell is pretty moist.
bruh
I originally purchased Hades just because it came with a free copy of Pyre for a special sale, and I've ended up playing Hades WAY longer than Pyre just because of how fun of a roguelike it is. Absolutely worth the money I paid for it.
Check out gunfire reborn. It’s another rogue like but also a FPS. It’s still in it’s early stages of the game but what they have so far is really good.
Its pretty barebones if you ask me and the mechanics are a bit sluggish and laggy.
Dont get me wrong... I love this game but it needs some work before he should review it.
@@martnoderyo9226 i agree i just not a fan on how the movement works
It would be fair to wait for the official release before judging it IMO
Have you guys also tried enter the gungeon? Cool ass game
RedRiot's video on Gunfire Reborn is pretty excellent
I didn’t even know it was from supergiant games. Transistor is one of my favorite games ever made and it’s made by the same company. The music in it was sooo good. I highly recommend you check it out you will not regret it.
I think you are the first person I have seen to know about Transistor it is such a good and underrated game 😭
KittyKaht27 transistor is soooooooooo and i mean soooooo good I remember playing it and just being so lost in it’s world and characters. I can’t stress enough on how good of a game it is.
@@Sajjad_Ali98 OMG yes! I dont think I have come across any other game that made me cry as hard plus combat is so flippin unique. Thank you for your knowledge and shared love of the gift that is Transistor
KittyKaht27 no no thank you for remanding me of how good transistor is.
SPOILER ALERT
.
Understanding the Moist Mind
My prediction of his rating based on his argument: 95%
Edit: His rating: 90%
One step closer to comprehending the high-level IQ of the moisture scale
4:55 so close
So glad that you liked it! I've seen the trailer. The animation, and the art was one of the first thing that got me hooked up. Hopefully a lot more people will talk about Hades!
homeless Florida man reviews anime would be a more appropriate title but okay
That’s a far better title
Lol
@Sightless_Seeker it's like calling someone a stupid idiot
6million subs bro well fucking done 👍, im with u nearly 10years dam how far you come, the days where we never herd laugh or ever seen you, good times
If you’re picking up rouge likes I recommend dead cells and slay the spire
Thanks for doing this, this game sold a million like 2 weeks ago, it just surprised me how slowly its becoming a known game...this will surely boost the popularity
“ I love hades” - Jesus 2020
_Can't wait to watch you beat Heat 32._

This is my favorite game atm, been a big fan of roguelites since a while, and Hades is exactly what i needed. The artstyle/lore/music is amazing, and the gameplay is super fun, glad to see it go through the Moist Meter !
Can you review the movie "rubber"?it's about a car tire that goes on a killing spree
I can gauge how much charlie likes a game based on how focused he looks while playing it
hades it's a good game
thanks for showing me this it's truly amazing, I want to support it now so much
Ah yes, my moistiest game of the year.
More moist than Poseidon
Jesus christ how many bots are there
i’ll bust 1 but for each bot that comments
A1 • godspeed coomer
The bots have commited the sin of Lust.
game is amazing can't wait for the next one easily top 3 indie roguelike in my opinion.
No.1 being Dead Cells, part of that is that it has been and still is getting content on the regular, so outside it being a great roguelike as well I also return to it far more often.
