The game has such lovable characters and charm i would relate it to a high school anime. You even start having a soft spot for a certain boss at one point.

he's an Olympian. Except for hephaistos they're all hot. Sadly they didn't do my girl Aphrodite justice. But Ares is by far the best portrait they made. If i'd ever had to put "happy, glamorous, murderous" into a picture, it would be their version of ares lol.

I'd actually argue, that Zagreus, of all characters was the least ideal (the only one not ideal?) In that he was bouncing between 80%perfect to 20% rather horribly off with incorrect emotions/ the complete lack on any, where they were seemingly necessary. The rest of the cast was, however, pretty on point. Especially Hades, Nyx, Dusa for me.
Seriously. Buy this game. It's worth every penny. The random generation of boons keeps it fresh, weapons have four forms to keep things fresh. The voice acting is amazing. There's a lot to do in the game and you don't really hear the same thing twice until you hit around the seventy hour mark, and even then it's automated dialogue for meeting the hydra. Haven't seen repeated dialogue elsewhere.

The fact that the game has better voice acting and story writing than most modern day AAA’s is a testament to how much the studio cares about its products. Not to mention the amazing gameplay.
With the new TH-cam feature, it's kinda funny to see that the most viewed part of the video is when Zag pulls his hair back after respawning, cuz honestly? ... yeah... he looks THAT hot
Can confirm this is an amazing game. I got it a few months ago in early access and put like 40 hours into it the first 2 weeks (I also work a full time 40 hour a week job lol). It has an addicting and engaging combat loop, plus all the lore and voice acting and music is A+ material that always leaves you wanting more. Can't recommend it enough
@@punchforpound2808 So I really love the plot. It is obviously based around the Greek mythology characters, but you play the role of a brand new character, the son of Hades named Zagreus. You are bound to the realm of Hades but you want to leave and go up to mount Olympus with the other Gods since you don't like it in Hades and you're rebelling against your father. But you're not supposed to leave and you have to battle thru Hades to try to leave. And so whenever you die, you get sent back to the heart of Hades just like any other newly dead. And along your journey you get to meet and interact with a TON of characters. Sisyphus, Orpheus, Achilles, Thanatos, etc. The story snipits that you get spoon-fed each time you talk to characters is part of what makes the game so addicting

Hades in the Greek mythos is not a bad person, he's just the ruler of the underworld as his 2 brothers Posiden and Zeus are rulers of the sea and mount Olympus respectively. So don't think of Hades as a villain. He's just a strict ruler and father. And while Zagreus is the protagonist of the story and does some heroic feats (and is generally a kind and caring person) think of him more as a rebellious teenager than a classical hero.

Funny that you should say that. The voice actors and in-game animators were mostly from inside the company and had nothing to do with Castlevania, but I believe the lead animator for _this_ trailer was behind that previously.
I love this game.. just bought a switch since I’ve wanted to play it so badly for so long. And now that I’m getting to play it.. I cannot put it down!! The soundtrack and voice acting is off the charts.. the story and characters all have their own little personalities that only grow and get better as time goes on.. this game is truly the embodiment of “one more run”
@@ohawwgeez3112 It's still in early access. It will be out of early access this fall. After that they will port to ps4 and xbox one. Also future consoles because this was project was test to try out the early access model. They have never done that and we will see if they take that same approach to future games. Early access or build the game for years.
It was hilarious when Zag asked the Bone Hydra is it was okay being called Lernie. The fact that Zag only refers to it as Lernie and the name above the healthbar changed every time afterwards just made it better. .... Tisiphone still can't say Zagreus though, all I get is a Zaaa...aagggg....erder...but progress is progress. Lernie just hisses alot.....
That was one of the most epic game trailers I've ever seen. The protagonist seems cool and reckless, and the animation and character designs is top notch.

Every single voice is flawless to its character.
There’s quite a few games that I can think of where they nailed the voices on every character.
