    Good for you bro for actually purging your stainless! For all you "real welders" out there, this is how it's done.

      I dont know how you couldn't purge on this. Any manifold builder knows you can't not purge...

      Any turbo manifold at least, too much money to let some slag flake off

      What do you mean by purging?

    • @Dzver000
      @Dzver000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@danielohara1040 He fills the inside of the manifold with argon(emptying the oxygen), so that when he is welding from the outside, the inside comes out perfect as well.

      @@matt10011987 Ideally you purge. But there are plenty of turbo manifold/headers out there stitched together with tig and mig welders who don't purge. It can compromise durability but it's not an absolute necessity.

    I built a rams horn turbo manifold for a sohc ka-t project. It was made from steel elbows and I mig welded it together. It turned out pretty good for what I was working with. Now that I have a tig and more experience, I am going to give this a go on a 360 v8 project I think. See what happens, wish me luck.

    existe algo llamado resonancia y depende del diametro y largo de la salidas del multiple donde el LARGO TIENE QUE SER IGUAL EN LOS 4 TRAMOS .....

  • @Oliver-rb1tf
    @Oliver-rb1tf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great work!
    But I wonder why you decided to choose so much diffrent length of the pipes. To my knowledge diffrent pipe length is a massive performance restriction. It also has bad effects inside the engine like diffrent backpressure and diffrent exhaust temperatures per cylinder.

    • @RuiSjm
      @RuiSjm 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you see better he use large diameter for longest pipes to compensate the diference

    Great craftsman and workmanship in the manufacturing.... but the design looks like it defeats the purpose of a twin scroll turbo. To have the twin scroll work the way it's designed the runner tubes of the header all have to be the same length, the pulse from cylinders 2&3 should hit the turbo right after 1&4 but since cylinders 1&4 have longer runners the timing of exhaust gas pulses are not entering the turbo when they should to have the twin scroll work the way it was designed to work. The turbo will spool faster and have better throttle response if the runners are equal length.
    That's why they call them tuner cars.

  • @dillonoliver27
    @dillonoliver27 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great workmanship
    But why not match cylinders to each scroll? Wouldn't you want 1&3 together? Or 1&2

    Grosso errore , la volumetria dei condotti non e simmetrica e non e di uguale volume , questo porterebbe a delle variazioni di combustione errati = ogni cilindro per fatti suoi e risultati deludenti dopo tutto questo lavoro .

    Excellent video. Solid construction methods. I thought you'd like to know I have a computer program that will design tubing solutions like these and give you the exact bend angles, lengths, etc, and can optimize for tubing length(s) and packaging constraints. Would save you a few welds per primary and save room in packaging and cut your build time in half.
    I design headers for NASCAR and F1. I could send you a white paper on a design I did for a Honda VTEC drag engine that is similar to what you built on this video.
    Cheers,
