  • Half Boiled Eggs - Breakfast Loved by an entire Nation!
    A typical Singapore-style breakfast at a KOPITIAM (coffee shop) often consists of soft-boiled eggs, along with kaya toast and a cup of kopi (coffee) or teh(tea).
    Singapore-style soft-boiled eggs differ from soft-boiled eggs in the West. Our soft-boiled eggs are runny and wobbly, and you crack them open like you would a raw egg, whereas in the West, the white is more firmly cooked - the egg, peeled like a hard-boiled egg or top taken off - and the yolk, is runny.
    Let's learn how to make the Singapore Half Boiled Eggs at home, with perfect results!

    I make soft boiled eggs once a week but I love the fact that these are served in a bowl with soy sauce and white pepper. I can't wait to eat them. The simple foods are always the best.

      For two eggs try a smaller regular saucepan( 3 cup capacity)
      Bring to a boil switch off but dont cover and wait six minutes. Has worked for us.

    I tried but fail, how long should we soak the eggs into the room temperature water ( last step) ?

    • @Recipesaresimple
      @Recipesaresimple  ปีที่แล้ว

      Last step in water doesn’t need to be long . Just till your ready to serve.
      The final cooking time ALSO depends on the size of eggs.
      So of you are using larger eggs or the size of your saucepan is larger.. you need to increase the cooking time. Im sure you nail it next time!

      Im sorry to hear that. You could try placing two eggs in a small microwave safe container of water. Microwave for 2 minutes 30 seconds. Leave the bowl in the microwave for under a minute and then remove and drain out the water. Not exactly the same but still works.

    It doesn't matter the size of the pot. There is one critical point which shown in the video but without telling the most important key ; & the skin of the bread has to be removed or it wouldn't taste nice !
