Looked like a real hard boring day at the office Kate! One of the reasons people love your vlogs & your channels growing success is that IMHO 99.99999999% of us relate to you as an average, safe, experienced rider. At 56 & after 39 years riding i still enjoy riding bikes like this but have never felt the need to pull the biggest wheelie or break lean angle records etc. I just enjoy the whole ownership package
I love my V2, enjoyable on road and track. If the V4S wasnt almost twice the price of a V2 I probably would have gone for the V4S, but honestly I have a blast on the V2. Then insurance, maintenance etc. Both excellent bikes
Love the honesty about your riding level. I haven’t seen much of that on the internet lately. That gets more respect than anything I can think of right now haha.
I'm 55, a licensed and winning semi-pro Formula race car driver, but have never been on a motorcycle and have never even been on a bicycle, although I did have a tricycle when I was 4 years old. Watching this chick is quite remarkable
I haven't ridden any of the V4s but I do own a V2 and i can safely say that it would take an amazing machine to give me a bigger smile than mine when i get off. I haven't done a track day and the V2 is more than powerful enough for the road.
Aw, cheers, Chopsy! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I haven't been invited to the August one. I think because I went to this one and it's only fair, others get a chance 🤣 but yeah, I think we're best in separate classes 🤭😈🏁
Howdy Kate! Just found this video and love your style and explanations of this epic day on epic bikes! I am 68 now and on a Harley Rocking Chair as two knee replacements and two broken backs relegate me to a more relaxed position…but I have fond memories of my only Ducati- a red Monster that I can still hear echoing thru back roads here in Texas! Thanks for the flashback and saddle up!
Thankyou Kate. Great video. It was good to see Chris in the mix - 44 Teeth collabs would be good to see. Really good to see your sponsors growing, and your link to the custom earplugs is something we all should be clicking. Have to agree on the overall choice of the V4S, and still full marks to the V2.
For me, the V2 all day. Its the essence of the Ducati brand that was built a big twins superbikes. Definitely feels like they're holding back on this one though, a 200BHP version of this would be immense -The giant biker
That 200bhp version was the Panigale 1299. Ducati made the move from V2 to V4 because it was becoming increasingly harder to extract more power from the V2.
I agree that the essence of Ducati is it's big twins. They sound like a bag of rocks but it's still mesmerizing. It'd have to be a twin for me if I bought a Ducati
I watched this with great interest, I own two ducatis, both twins, and I enjoy both of them immensely. (They are quite different, each with its own particular strengths). I know the V4 has a lot more power, but my feeling about this is that you do need to be able to draw the line somewhere - partly in money and partly in powered insanity. What I do to keep the thrill going is to drive around (both bikes) in urban mode almost all the time - that gives me 100 hp, and after you've been using that for a few days it feels completely normal. Then, when I go on a longer ride or I feel the need to have a bit of a go, I switch to touring or sport mode just for that ride. The flip up to 150 hp is quite considerable, and it feels fresh and thrilling every time. I really feel that 150 hp is enough for a regular rider (like me). Would I accept more? Of course I would. Would I pay for more? Not that much.
Love that, and it's a great point to switch up the power modes to appreciate your machine with access to lesser bhp and then boom 💥 give me poweerrrrr 🤣
"With your wrists down and your ass in the air", you're turning me into a dirty old man. Seriously, that was great fun watching you tear around Silverstone, such an iconic track. Great job Kate!
I like and appreciate your honesty. I could totally relate to your V2 opinion because I own a 2023 Ducati V2 Streetfighter and there is a lot of similarity I imagine with the V2 Panagale. The V2 engine is more than ample for street use. I agree with you in the great manners of the V2
Excellent Kate! :O) I pretty much agree with you about the V4. I took my beautiful, lovely, gorgeous and certainly fast enough V2 in for a service recently and they gave me a V4 to take out for a few hours... Oh my days, that bike is crazy but amazingly solid and planted at cough, cough speeds. On the way back to the garage there were 3 motorcycle coppers coming in the opposite direction and we all nodded at each other, luckily I had my dark visor on so they couldn't the guilty expression on my face. I could see them all thinking "I wonder what speed he would have to be going for those downforce wings to be effective...?" 🤔 The only other downside of the V4 for me was that it literally cooked my left knee by the time I got back. I only had me Bullitt jeans on that day (amongst other clothes of course). I can cope with my arse being on fire on the V2 on a daily basis but not sure I could live with the V4 heat from the engine and the coppers from road point of view.🏍;O)
... and a sneaky and very appropriate bit of Uncle Roger thrown in there 🤣👌👏 I've never ridden track before. I am a road rider but I want to do a bit of everything to feed into my road skills. This has given me the kick to go do a track day. Thank you !!! I'll be saving up for my 1st Panigale 😁 but my little baby can out torque the V2 and I'm extremely happy with her 😉
just prior to watching your vid, I decided to get a Panigale V2. my CBR1000RR has enough power. i just don't need that much power, even on nearby VIR. appreciating handling over power these days. can't deny the power of that v4 must be intoxicating.
6:59 Better form and speed than me, Kate. I have only been to the Drag Strip. There are no tracks near me that will allow bikes. The closest one is at the state line 300 miles away. I will get there eventually.
Came across your review at the time when I'm torn between a V4 or V2 for track use. Enjoyed your perspective from an intermediate riders view. Cheers from Texas amiga!
Gr8 review Kate. Sorry to hear you had an off at the bmw day, hopefully you are building your confidence back up, and be better for it. Those Ducatis do sound fabulous, haven't ridden either, but l'm sure they'd sound and feel better live. Got an old ST1300 and its gr8 to be on 2wheels, whatever it is. Thanks again.👍🍻

Great video as always Kate. Number one, you certainly undersell yourself as your an awesome rider. Number two, would you say the V4S is the most exciting bike you’ve ridden? What an awesome opportunity to ride this on track, well done you! 😁🙌
I don't think I undersell myself, I think I'm just realistic 😁 People see through it when you think you're better than you are and chat garbage 🤣 and most exciting on track, definitely!
Looks like a great day and glad you had a great time.😎 For me both are track bikes so not for me as 99% road rider (plus, more importantly I can't afford either 🤣)
Not at all. I havent even tried the Ruroc Track on but if you find a helmet that fits you as well as my Shoei X Spirit 3 does, it's hard to wear anything else.

Appreciate you dude!

Good shout!! All things to factor in! I feel like realistically, I'd be in the same boat! V4S will just have to wait for that lottery win! 🤣

Hey Mark! Amazing!! I've been riding the V2 on the road (in streetfighter format) and that engine is a peach on the road!!! 🙌
Enjoyed that Kate!! Im there end of August so hopefully if your there again would be cool. Not going out on track again with you though haha

Great review Kate. Picked up my23 V4S few months ago. Loving every minute i ride her. Need to put some track time on her.
I am literally on the verge of putting a deposit down for a V4S. But I am worried that it won’t be that much better than a V2.
