@@pzthree yeah, I think I've only done some image merging in Ps and Lr some years ago. You should check it out, I've seen some ppl demo pretty interesting stuff - usually the info is more towards photography panorama as expected, but I've found some interesting 360 imagery ideas and if I remember correctly even some tricks to create your own IBL hdri with it. It even has some neat stuff to inpaint ppl and buildings out and such using the multiple pictures similar to what you did here in Aphoto.

Yes, Photoshop has a very similar tool.
you would find "hugin image" tools interesting! They've got a nice workflow going on for the masking within the merging never tried that in affinity.
I use to do it in photoshop/lightroom. Have seen Hugin before but never used it.
