Most likely the difference is that Coldplay asked them to be there while JLo and Shakira were both contacted to do the show together. It may look like the same thing to an outsider, but it isn't. It's like saying that neither one of them was good enough to do the show alone.

The message Chris has at the start (we’re all in this together) and coldplays music was and is exactly what people need and needed to hear. It’s a shame the message got lost in “boring halftime show” because people are so focused on instant gratification.
The motif at the end (believe in love) is perfect. This is the best halftime show I’ve ever witnessed. Music with meaning and connection.

Of all the Super Bowl halftime show I watched in my life, this one truly takes the cake as one of the best I’ve ever seen. You pit both Beyoncé & Bruno along with Cold Play and it was fitting for Super Bowl 50 a golden anniversary showcasing the past and present halftime shows.

FYI the most viewed halftime performance was Michael Jackson's, which got more views than the game itself. Katy Perry's and anyone else's was nowhere near MJ's. I guess people really forgot talent don't they😑😑😑

Agreed! I remember that I loved it when it was performed, but folks never seem to talk about it much looking back. I think it truly withstands the test of time and actually improves with repeat viewings. It's a halftime show filled with joy and happiness.

Kid Poker clocks is one of the greatest songs to ever grace my ears. That hypnotic melody from the piano mixed with the harmonies and vocals plus production. Such an amazing understated song. One of the greatest testaments to music of the 21st century and I’m glad you pointed it out.

@@m_q802 Yes and no. Joe Satriani started the lawsuit but it was settled outside of court. It was better off that way because there were other people like Cat Stevens who were trying to join in the lawsuit to possibly sue both of them. Also, musical lawsuits get messy since most normal jurys have no one on them that have ever written music so they don't know music theory.
