I have a 2019 RS with the V6 and am getting as high as 30 MPG when the speed limit is 55. At 70 it is around 24 MPG. Even in town we are getting around 17-19
I did like the vid. I have a 19 awd Blazer with the V6, would not even walked close to it with the 4 or a 3 cyl engine. I am not really up to speed on the other models, but the paddle shifter you like, my Blazer has a (+) - (-) button on the swifter. Put it in "L" now you control the trans gears.
Most unreliable Chevy in existence. I work at Morley and we constantly get calls for parts on it. Parts are always back ordered and we’re always doing manufacturer buy backs on them
@@Carlosgonzales-be4je the Genesis GV70 costs a little more but has 300hp and much much more luxurious interior. Kia Telluride is about the same price as a Blazer with 291hp. And if you want reliability the RAV4 Prime has 302hp
The biggest complaint I have about mine is the blind spots. They are terrible!!! The other is the lack of safety features. This has a few, but the car I traded in for this made me feel a lot safer (I work nights, doing lots of driving on some of those nights. Would occasionally nod off when driving.)
But the car is good at not making sure you ram into anyone it literally stops you the car stops itself like it does a jerk and it even beeps if I’m not that close to passing a car I like the safety
I have a '20 Blazer 2LT, V6 AWD that I bought used with 53K miles in early '23. The MAIN thing I don't like is also the gas mileage, at about 25 highway (i drive very little in stop-go city). This is NO surprise to me, the vehicle weighs 4300lbs and has 308 HP! The other thing is that the 2LT does not have HEATED MIRRORS (even the CHEAPEST Kia POS has these) and no power passenger seat. It also does not have: blind spot monitor; back up sensor; lane deviation sensor; AEB , etc. These electronic "gizmos" I don't care about. I do miss the power tailgate option! Aside from this, I LOVE the vehicle. In the year of ownership, I have had ZERO issues and all (3) recalls are closed. The body is TIGHT, panel fit is VERY good, I have NO rattles OR CREAKS. If anything, I would like to have AT LEAST 50 MORE horses in the "power barn"!!!!!
1: You can buy new wheels, 2: Fuel Additives and Engine Tuning, 3: Get a sports car for paddle shifters, it's an SUV, 4: Get it fixed? 5: That's a short circuit somewhere
2019 all red black out rs owner of 2 years. I have the sporty all black chevy rims on mine. You can choose from multiple different rims types when buying new or used. Not sure why you are getting such poor gas mileage. I had to fill up twice a month in my old 2003 Malibu but now I only fill up about once a month in my blazer. I drive mostly in awd sport mode & I often push the 50 to 70mph speed jump to its limits. 1.2 seconds avg 🔥 I didn't even know the rs came in front wheel only drive. I have front wheel drive, 4x4, all wheel sport mode, hill & towing modes on mine. Paddle shifters would be AWESOME!! But on the blazer you can always up & down shit with buttons on the gear shifter. I have had some experiences with torque steer. But my wheels are wide as heck & the blazer has a heck of a launch so I expected some. Mine mostly stays straight at the light & wow it does goooo when you push the gas in sport mode. The only time I had any rattling noise was a little on the front passenger side when I have my bose sound system at max. It was a loose trim clip. No problems with the infotainment center as of yet other than Bluetooth sometimes not showing the song I'm playing. But I did sometimes have a problem with the adaptive cruise control not turning on. Turns out when the vehicle is started the camera sometimes doesn't focus properly because of its location in the window. It only happened to me 8 x in 2 years. Turns out mine was pick up the tennis ball i had hanging when it was trying to focus the camera on start up. But others have had that problem because the camera was picking up something in the window on start up. Might have been the plastic around the camera. For some reason replacement of the camera is only a semi fix. The only known permanent fix I know of is to replace the front window. Finally, yes..many necks get broken watching it go by. Everyone loves how it looks. Compliments every day about it. FYI...I didn't design it, but I'll pass the praise to the people that did. Even though it is just basically a rip off of the camaro. Interior layout, front design, hood, side panels. It's a camaro on steroids that skips leg days so it's slower. So far it's the best vehicle I ever owned. But it does have its issues. My main problem is they way the stupid transmission shifts. No need for so many gears. Every pause in speed that has me down to 10mph will just lead to a launch to 20 by slightly pushing the gas. Have to ever so gently press the gas to accelerate slowly. I give the chevy blazer 8/10. I'm sure I will find out it's flaws someday. But until then, I'm loving it. That's all I got to say about that.
I have averaged minimum 19 MPG City only. Combined 23-24. Highway I can get 25 -27 depending on hills and how fast I go. I can easily get 25 MPG going 75 mph on non mountainous roads. There is no way you should get the numbers mentioned in this video.
Never had any creeks and my infotainment hasn't ever frozed . (2019 blazer premier awd ) everything else was accurate! Especially breaking them necks !
We have a 23 blazer love the way it handles and rides how ever @ 27k miles crank seal leaking they fix it 2 weeks later I get check engine light ran codes with coolant fan speed to high , coolant temp to low , and loss of communication so further testing back in shop again
Saw this while driving home today. The all black looks really clean, with sharp edges that remind me of the Urus. Stupid comparison lmao but do like the RS model with the 21” wheels. Sounds like nothing stock though. Think a GV70 best option if can slightly bump the budget a bit
Not a dumb comparison at all style wise. There is an all black Urus that passes by my house once and awhile. One day I thought I saw it again but something was slightly different. Cause it was an all black 2020 blazer rs with a wheels and sun package.
Torque steer on front wheel drive is due to the different length of the front drive axles, the longer one flexes under torque and the shorter one is stiffer and doesn't flex.
Great video I have the 2020 RS and the rattling noises absolutely drive me crazy! Lol and it's never in one spot I hear it coming from the tailgate then I hear come from the back then I hear it coming from the front LOL! don't know if you guys experience it! And the infotainment system is really annoying I've actually had mine changed twice :( and my other dislike I do wish the trunk area was a little bigger or just a bit deeper, but besides that I do love this car I am 6'7 and I fit so comfortably! And can't believe the space that it has! I do wish I can keep the daytime running lights that bright at night as well!
@@TheSnyds Oh yes!! Fit very comfortably! Plenty of head and shoulder room, and still enough space for my 5'8 adult to fit comfortably fit behind me! It's actually unreal, crazy enough the rear seat actually has more leg room than my 19 Tahoe! my only downfall is the rearview mirror being right at my eyelevel sometimes a bit distracting!
Haven't had any info system issues or crazy low mpg issues like that, city I usually get around 350 - 400 miles and highest I've gotten for mpg so far is 33.2mpg. Blazer is deff a beefy little crossover and if I can I'd like to up the power on mine a little more.
Honestly, I would like the paddle shifters but with it not being a sports car... or even sporty, idk. I miss them on my vw golf and would love this with a dct trans... but, and I say this as a gm fan, idk how far I would trust them with a trans like that. So much r&d would have to be done like they did for the new vette.
@@TheSnyds my mom just bought a 2020 RS in the Cajun red and she loves it. Sadly I drive it more than she does as it gets better fuel economy than my 2016 duramax and being out of work because of all this going on. It is a blast to drive. Wish it was the awd variant because the torque steer is real. I have not had the infotainment issue you have mentioned luckily.... but hers isn't a fully loaded rs, so maybe that has something to do with it. Have you checked out the magnaflow exhaust yet?
Great review, summary GM built the new mid level platform in SUVs and designed the Cadillac XT5. This Blazer RS has everything the XT5 has which includes not being off road. Still I have the RS loaded and love it.
Wife drives the 2020 also, and when I finally drove it and noticed the instability of steering when punching it, I was very disappointed too. We did get the 21” gloss wheels which you will love if you guys get them. Also the interior lighting doesn’t seem very bright, and I especially look to change the license plate lights to LED, very disappointing the RS package didn’t come with more features.
@@winniwavanna5143 I work at Morley and we get a crap ton of calls a day on them. Parts are always back ordered, and many just don’t want to deal with the car anymore so they do a manufacturer buy back.
Front wheel drive and Blazer are words that don't belong together describe that vehicle... Buying an old k5, a real Blazer that's 4wd without all of the extra crap. Too much plastic and junk in new vehicles.
I lock my blazer with my fob. Hear the horn sound. Walk to the back and press the button to open my trunk and it opens. Huge security breach, unless I’m doing something wrong.
I have been eyeing a Blazer for the past few months but haven't worked up the courage to go to the dealership to get one. My primary hesitation is the price. While I love the Blazer the Trailblazer is more budget friendly 😫 I know I know they're 2 different vehicles but my heart wants the Blazer but my budget and this economy says get the Trailblazer 😢
I barely gas it around corners in sport n the torque steer kicks in🤣 I like the torque steer bc I think it’s hilarious! We got the L(2.5)model and sometimes when in L I’ve experienced that sometimes it won’t up shift nor downshift, I put it in D and back in L it still won’t up/down shift until maybe 2 more times and I have to press the +/- button smoothly for it to shift, the interior panels rattle a lot with the bass and I don’t have the Bose Audio system option since it’s the cheap model(I use Spotify and another app that gives my music extra bass, yea I’m that kinda person) but I don’t max out the bass n at high volumes the bass becomes very raspy & I know obviously I can adjust bass n what not, I give the rattling panel a bang or two it goes away and comes back. Normal driving without sport I get maybe 17 mpgs in a heavy 4 cylinder. Oh and I can’t seem to get the cruise control to work, might just be me that doesn’t know how to program it bc I’m sure the CC isn’t defective, hope it’s not. And lastly I can’t turn off the Auto/Start stop feature but in models above the “ L “ have a button to turn it off, I have to release the brake and press on it again bc I get annoyed when it turns off( when A/C is on it won’t turn on the feature) It was a dealer tester car with 6k miles, light curb damage to rear right wheel, scratches in the paint when we bought it, it was one of the very few Blazers In ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (September 2019), and which is why we got the Blazer, it’s a bit in expensive to lease than new ones bc it had miles on it.
Do you know if you can put a 2" lift kit on a Blazer? I just got a 2019 Blazer RS with 21" wheels and I concerned about ground clearance during the winter. I live in Western NY and we get a lot of snow.
I just bought a 2024 Chevy Blazer RS. Looks like the one in your video. I absolutely love it BUT I have one issue with it that dealership doesnt seem to want to solve. I cannot get the front camera to come on automatically when pulling in the garage or pulling up to anything. I have to stop and manually put the camera on so that i can park in the garage. Any ideas?
I guess I'm just old school but, paddle shifters are rubbish. Worst thing ever put into any vehicle. So for me, the lack of them in the Blazer is a HUGE plus!
im thinking of getting one for myself soon now in june 2021, why didnt you just build your own blazer and get it the way you want it like the way im doing it?????? go to parts department and change your rims have you had any mechanical problems or electronic problems???
Your MPG is lower because rear-axle increased from 3.16 with 6-speed auto before to 3.49 with 9-speed auto. More auto speed gears don't always mean more MPG.
@@TheSnyds I think (bigger) 2019 GMC Acadia (same engine, but last one with 6-speed) was the vehicle for you. I'm getting 25 MPG average constantly. Everyone I know likes the MPG with 6-speed due to lower RPM running, but not with 9-speed, despite the 6-speed rates lower in MPG by EPA.
Dude you want flappy dappy paddle shifters? This is an A2B, it's not a sports car, and a V6 does not a sports car make. my suggestion is get a 2004 Ford Freestar with a 3.9 in it. They kick ASS bro. Have fun for 1500 bucks.

The only con I have with mine is the headlights. Not bright enough.
Good to know about the shifting!
Then why did you buy it
Cause vehicles look to be perfect when you’re at a dealership then as time goes on you start to see all the flaws of a vehicle no matter what it is
Paddle shifters are for high performance vehicles not a SUV like that.
Most unreliable Chevy in existence. I work at Morley and we constantly get calls for parts on it. Parts are always back ordered and we’re always doing manufacturer buy backs on them
Can’t be worse than 2010 equinox
Joedirt, this still the case? lol I want one but I was just looking into reliability haha
@@JLFish21 yup, I’d get the Equinox or Trax if you want better reliability.
@joedirt7423 dang, I was looking at the v6 because of the 300+ HP
Yall didn't option the car but want the option. Mine has cross path detection, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control
So u want extra safety because you nod off 😅
That's why u go cadillac lincoln and buick for technology
AWD would probably fix your torque steer. I had the same engine in a Equinox LTZ AWD and never had that issue.
That's exactly what it is lol
1.2 seconds avg 🔥
I didn't even know the rs came in front wheel only drive.
Paddle shifters!!! No you don't need them on that vehicle!! It's not a vette or porsche come on man! 😂
Never had any creeks and my infotainment hasn't ever frozed . (2019 blazer premier awd ) everything else was accurate! Especially breaking them necks !
I suddenly feel dumber after watching this video...
Surprised you can still spell bud
@@TheSnyds Yup, me too. Can't get over the paddle shifters, ey?
Nope, total bust! But good thing its just a video lol
@@TheSnyds Maybe one day you'll be able to afford a real vehicle.
Maybe you've lost your sight. I have real cars my dude.
12-15 in the city for a "now-a-days" vehicle?

I had no idea it had '90s mpg
GV70 has far less interior room
Torque steer on front wheel drive is due to the different length of the front drive axles, the longer one flexes under torque and the shorter one is stiffer and doesn't flex.
WE have the same V6 in a GMC Acadia, 22-24 in town, 30 plus on the highway. Air up the tires to 35PSI, drive with a light foot.
6'7 that's crazy that you fit comfortably!
I want this so bad.. Bought a RAV4 and then saw this. Been unhappy with my purchase every since…
Dealers are dying for trades! Maybe you can swing a good deal
Naw you’d be unhappy with this purchase lol. RAV4 is more reliable
Keep the RAV 4 it will last for decades. Unless you're leasing than yes go with a Blazer if you really want one.
Haven't had any info system issues or crazy low mpg issues like that, city I usually get around 350 - 400 miles and highest I've gotten for mpg so far is 33.2mpg. Blazer is deff a beefy little crossover and if I can I'd like to up the power on mine a little more.
Is XT5 based on Blazer with similar powertrain design and build quality?
@@TheMichaelJu what? no!
The gas mileage on my blazer is incredible
25 at best wouldn't be considered incredible. It's decent for an SUV though
Very true, but they kind of tailor this thing to be sporty. They should at least have a slap shift capability! But we still love this car forsure
Xt5 all the way n buick n lincoln
I have the premier and love it. Paddle shifters are hard to use when turning. I’m glad mine doesn’t have it.
Yea, just more fun to have the option is what Im getting at. Still love the car
Even with all that, I still love this thing haha. But i def agree with ya
Probably torque steer your referring to. Happens on most vehicles with fwd
I have the newer 2022 Premiere and my mileage is 20 city and 27 highway. I usually use cruise control so that might help someone with a lead foot.
Yea we def had a flawed number ar time of filming. That was sitting with the ac on etc. Your mileage is pretty accurate
Seeing this vehicle makes me glad I’m a car guy, more specifically, a 2019 Cruze LS guy. No offense, it's definitely a good looking vehicle.
I was planning on getting a blazer and this really helps thanks

I dislike the bottom trim on the sides of the vehicle since they never seem to come out perfectly clean after a carwash.
I have 2020 blazer 3.6 awd. City 10mpg dont know whats the problem is
Having a cww as Mario SUV that looks sexier than a a cx-5 outweighs all your dislikes.
I have a 2019 RS AWD and I get 25 -26 MPG summer & 22-24 winter. I get torque steer at low speeds when the AWD is not engaged under heavy throttle.
Lol damn my wife is getting 24mpg in her blazer and I do like the black top and white bottom looks awesome
Just have to account for traffic and what not. Not everyone has the same commute. But thanks!
The part where you bang the panel to quiet the rattle 👌🤣
@@TheSnyds Gotta love GM!🤣
Do you know if you can put a 2" lift kit on a Blazer? I just got a 2019 Blazer RS with 21" wheels and I concerned about ground clearance during the winter. I live in Western NY and we get a lot of snow.
Paddle shifters? I don’t think any mini vans come with paddle shifters. Just kidding man but seriously paddle shifters come before the wife and kids.
Is it in sport mode or 4 wheel drive or towing mode? 2 wheel drive I get 22 to 25 mpg.
Any ideas?
I never had that option on our blazer so I wouldn't be very much help lol. I know on our tahoe we push the 360 camera button
Is it roomy for a rear facing car seat? I hate when my daughters carseat touches the passenger seat due to no space 😔😢.
Yup! We have one back there right now
I guess I'm just old school but, paddle shifters are rubbish. Worst thing ever put into any vehicle. So for me, the lack of them in the Blazer is a HUGE plus!
What year is it?
im thinking of getting one for myself soon now in june 2021,
why didnt you just build your own blazer and get it the way you want it like the way im doing it??????
go to parts department and change your rims
have you had any mechanical problems or electronic problems???
They do have a more efficient turbo model that gets 25 mpg which is near hybrid level!
The rims look like something off a Subaru. 😂
That's what we thought. Luckily they are much better now
Are their issues with the headlights?

@@TheSnyds Been there, done that! 😂
You're**
Your MPG is lower because rear-axle increased from 3.16 with 6-speed auto before to 3.49 with 9-speed auto. More auto speed gears don't always mean more MPG.
Interesting take! Thanks for that info.
Oh it's all good. I'm not worried about the gas mileage. Its my wifes daily driver and shut only puts about 30 miles a week from work haha
Even though the paddles are not on the steering wheel. It does have manual shift buttons on the side of the shifter.
Dude you want flappy dappy paddle shifters? This is an A2B, it's not a sports car, and a V6 does not a sports car make. my suggestion is get a 2004 Ford Freestar with a 3.9 in it. They kick ASS bro. Have fun for 1500 bucks.
I have a 2001 Blazer LT. Bought it with 96,000 miles. I had the money and investigated 14,000 in it and runs just like new. No way would I pay 30,000-40,000 bucks for a new one.
That's a smart idea, but the trick to this method is finding a "true mechanic" not a jack leg to do the work.
I have the '22 2LT 2.0T and i was ripping the canyons near flagstaff, az and it handled great. But the media console freezing is annoying as fudge.

It depends on whether it has a CVT trans. If you get one avoid that trans.
My ford taurus weighs 4400 pounds(about 400 pounds heavier than a blazer) it has a 3.6L V6 and gets 25-26 highway easily even though I drive with a heavy foot. Something is wrong with your car
