The Malibu shouldn't be compared to the Corolla, it's bigger. It compares to the Camery, a mid-sized car. Had one for a rental and it was ok, but the road noise from the rear of the car was bad.
I bought a new 2023 Malibu RS and I absolutely love the car. 23,000 miles on it so far with zero problems. My only complaint is that the stereo is weak. It would be better if it had more power/volume as I like to blast my music. I also think this video is dishonest as the car has plenty of power when you step on the gas with no turbo lag. Overall I would definitely recommend the Malibu to others.
I had a 2017 Malibu and really liked it. I had the Bose speakers, so it had enough volume wise. On a roadtrip through Florida, I was able to get 48 mpg.
Believe me, you're one of the lucky ones. Camaros have a history of being troublesome. And the main reason I didn't buy one was it's awful visibility. Plus my buddy was on his 2nd transmission, and that's without pushing it. I finally decided on a mustang gt, 5.0.

I won't purchase a vehicle with a turbo. I MOST DEFINITELY won't purchase a vehicle using Wet Belt technology. Probably costs almost 10% of the car's purchase price for routine belt change. Assuming the Wet Belt didn't damage the engine. Associated problems have been reported at 50000 miles. Good luck. Learn how to baby that belt.
The timing belt is made of polyurethane and Kevlar! Oil resistant! Not a Ford rubber band! It has a 100k change out. But could go 200 as long as the oil is changed often as 5k miles. The bad, engine needs to be pulled to change it. The turbo the same. Oil changes are most important! Nothing will last if abused!
@@MagaTBTF. I hope you are correct on how good the belt is. Maybe it was poor oil maintenance that helped make the videos of oil pickup tubes being plugged with rubber debris. I don't see Cadillacs and Lincolns getting these belts.

Chevy back in the 90s made two great engines. The 5.7 350 and the 3.8 V6. I drove a 94 Caprice Police Cruiser when I was a deputy sheriff and we also owned a 96 Camero equiped with the V6. Both cars were excellent. After the early 2000s it seemed GM went down hill. Adding to the mix is when GM stopped making the 5.7 & 3.8. Also my son inlaw had a 2013 Equinox with the 2.4 4 banger and a mechanic told him those engines were horrible and would only last to 104 k if your lucky. In 2021 the engine blew at 94 k. He got smart and brought a Toyota 4 Runner... After COVID, UAW, EPA and Bidens new green deal the American car companies are now making junk. You need to understand the reasons people buy certain vehicles. For instance, owners of the 2500HD trucks are typically not commuters. They use these trucks for work and towing boats and campers. And Camaro owners are not commuters either. These are typically weekend cars to tear around in. These vehicles are way too expensive to piss away their resale value by just driving these to work and back
