That's what they told me, don't buy Chevrolet, the 1st was a Malibu of 2005, I never threw a drop of coolant, my wife exchanged it with 315 thousand miles for a Malibu LT of 2017, it has not yet given problems, my malibu of 2008 6cyl changed it with 265 thousand thousands, I only changed the start, I gave it a trade one for a Chevrolet Equinox 2019 that to this day has not given any problems, I am totally satisfied with Chevrolet. People like to repeat and talk shit.
I like my Trax LT with 1 upgrade which is the Rims, Heated seats, auto start, It is a pretty solid car with nice interior room. It's not over the top fancy but it is comfy. I am not into all the Gidgets and Widgets car companies are packing into cars this has the, front safety braking which you can adjust and a rear cam, apple carplay, siriusxm, Android, AC so its plenty for me. I bought everything to enhance the interior on Amazon. Things like Padded door arm rests, Center Armrests, Retractable Cargo Cover and Cargo Liners, Seat Covers. same stuff chevy sells but far less expensive
I am considering a 2025 base LS which further limits these modern ( worthless ) options, however the turbo3 with the “ wet” timing belt may be the Deal Breaker. CB Luv the Cyprus ( green ) Gray shade. Wish for more interior color options. CB
I won't purchase a vehicle with a turbo. I MOST DEFINITELY won't purchase a vehicle using Wet Belt technology. Probably costs almost 10% of the car's purchase price for routine belt change. Assuming the Wet Belt didn't damage the engine. Associated problems have been reported at 50000 miles. Good luck. Learn how to baby that belt.
The timing belt is made of polyurethane and Kevlar! Oil resistant! Not a Ford rubber band! It has a 100k change out. But could go 200 as long as the oil is changed often as 5k miles. The bad, engine needs to be pulled to change it. The turbo the same. Oil changes are most important! Nothing will last if abused!
@@kennaples3611. I hope you are correct on how good the belt is. Maybe it was poor oil maintenance that helped make the videos of oil pickup tubes being plugged with rubber debris. I don't see Cadillacs and Lincolns getting these belts.
The Malibu has as many good comments as criticisms. It is compared to the Corolla. Leaving the size aside, maybe ANY vehicle comes up short against the Corolla. The Malibu is 12 inches longer than the Corolla-- not a good comparison. Lastly, there are youtube videos that speak highly of the Malibu.
The Malibu shouldn't be compared to the Corolla, it's bigger. It compares to the Camery, a mid-sized car. Had one for a rental and it was ok, but the road noise from the rear of the car was bad.
Believe me, you're one of the lucky ones. Camaros have a history of being troublesome. And the main reason I didn't buy one was it's awful visibility. Plus my buddy was on his 2nd transmission, and that's without pushing it. I finally decided on a mustang gt, 5.0.
I bought a new 2023 Malibu RS and I absolutely love the car. 23,000 miles on it so far with zero problems. My only complaint is that the stereo is weak. It would be better if it had more power/volume as I like to blast my music. I also think this video is dishonest as the car has plenty of power when you step on the gas with no turbo lag. Overall I would definitely recommend the Malibu to others.
i experienced to drive many car brands but so far I ❤ GM - ride comfort, safety, power, fuel efficiency they are better. how you maintain that’s the ending story
Chevy back in the 90s made two great engines. The 5.7 350 and the 3.8 V6. I drove a 94 Caprice Police Cruiser when I was a deputy sheriff and we also owned a 96 Camero equiped with the V6. Both cars were excellent. After the early 2000s it seemed GM went down hill. Adding to the mix is when GM stopped making the 5.7 & 3.8. Also my son inlaw had a 2013 Equinox with the 2.4 4 banger and a mechanic told him those engines were horrible and would only last to 104 k if your lucky. In 2021 the engine blew at 94 k. He got smart and brought a Toyota 4 Runner... After COVID, UAW, EPA and Bidens new green deal the American car companies are now making junk. If you ever wondered what a government ran car company looks like here you go. The last word, As a veteran and retired from law enforcement I was pro American made cars. When I found out GM makes some models in China I will not buy anything from that company. The hell with GM and Chevy.
You need to understand the reasons people buy certain vehicles. For instance, owners of the 2500HD trucks are typically not commuters. They use these trucks for work and towing boats and campers. And Camaro owners are not commuters either. These are typically weekend cars to tear around in. These vehicles are way too expensive to piss away their resale value by just driving these to work and back
First two cars are being discontinued. I was hoping for reliability info. They SHOULD have talked about the models w 3 cylinder turbo engines that will probably never see anywhere close to 100,000 miles before catastrophic engine failures (Trax, Trailblazer). Sounds more like an Ad in favor of GM.
At 9 minutes 28 seconds this video recommends the Trax. Maybe he isn't aware of the Wet Belt engine. Makes me question the entire video. If you are considering a vehicle using Wet Belt technology. Do some TH-cam searching on this subject.
I watched your video with interest. It appears that GM is building a lot of their inventory with under powered engines and cheap interiors. I have been warned by a friend not to buy an Equinox as he had 3. All 3 had issues with the timing belts coming apart and taking out the engine. My sons girlfriend has a GMC Canyon that has had multiple issues including the bed not being secured properly and shifted. I am very disappointed with GM as I have had a number of them in the past and enjoyed their feel. Although I got one of the Iraqi Malibu's which was under powered and standard back in the 70's.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing about 3 cylinder turbos from Chevy people who have been buying the POS trucks with cylinder deactivation fir 15 years now, nobody that i know thats had one EVER went over 80,000 miles without engine problems & some idiots on on there 3rd one 😂😂 so let's not talk about longevity just yet & someone in my neighborhood made fun of my TRAX because it was made in Korea ,I'd rather have one made there instead of MEXICO like the POS Bronco or Maverick are 😮
NEVER take advice from someone who has no idea what lb-ft means and just says the letters. Compare the 2500 between the other 2500s (or should we just call then three-quarter ton trucks?). And three-quarter and larger are designed to carry and pull big loads.
I don't know what car you're driving around, but it's not the Trailblazer that I've ever seen. They don't have that rear quarter window, and the back doors are different.
Ahh, in this particular video there were no EVs featured. The only EV was the Blazer EV displayed initially. However, the video didn't review it. I have enjoyed my Chevrolet Bolt that I charge, when necessary, in my garage. It doesn't need gas, frequent oil & filter changes, engine work, transmission work, yearly emissions inspections. It does need tire rotations in order to make them last longer. 16:00
Before doing a video study a little of what to say ; trailblazer is mixed the usa version and the South America version (diesel and 3 row) this means your video is worthless

The camaro is a sport car not a family car . Fast beautiful ❤️ love it
29 Mpg with the high powered V6 is not good?
No turbos! A good thing.
Malibu should be compared to the Camry

The Metro was a Suzuki. Reliable.
I have a Trax 2RS and i love it. Great review.

Camaros are smiles per gallon which they excel at. The visibility is bad but you get used to it, I have no issues daily driving mine. 😊

A 1.2 turbo 3 cylinder in the Trax put a Toyota 4 cylinder non turbo engine in it
Mostly agree but that 1.2 litre turbo in the Trax does not inspire confidence

Nobody buys a 2500 HD for gas mileage or any other 3/4 ton truck for that matter
