I need a car. Mine has to much repairs to be done
’04-‘08 Corolla
I bought the 1.2 L Trax but i made sure my wife and i got the 6 speed trans and not the CVT trans. Also bought a lifetime engine and trans powertrain extended warranty that the dealer offered with $100 deductible.
Last week turbos where out. This week their in.
Scotty you gotta get your hands on the 24-25 trax. I just bought one and it is crazy good. My only gripe is the electronic parking brake, and the start stop I have to turn off every time I start it.
Small engines with turbos are now okay with Scotty, just change the oil every night before you go to bed.
LOL.. Damn!
lol 😂
These SUVs are crap. Forget about towing anything with a 1.4L turbo other than a cooler for your family picnic. What a joke. 😂
@@Livingthedream157*1.3 liter. Lol
That caught me off guard! 🤣🤣🤣
Toyta is never going to be scared of a Chevy
😮
Bidness yah digg
Toyota not all that I hate to tell you
@@Bigmoney1997 Google six sigma Japan
Edmunds' most recent reliability report tracking issues from 2020-2024 had Toyota ranked #2 - you'll never guess where Chevy was ranked.....#4!
If Toyota takes a peek in its rear-view mirror its eyes might get big in disbelief!
Maybe not "scared" but perhaps concerned?
Chevy was the biggest mover upward, having not been in the Top 10 from the previous year, while Honda had the biggest drop, not appearing anywhere in the top 10l
I’m crapping in my pants because someone kidnapped Scotty and replaced him with an imposter
It's called A.I. Scotty! 😅
Scotty is selling the extended warranty.
Scotty inhaling Celica exhaust fumes!
😂😂😂
A 1.3 cu in ? pretty soon, you'll be doing the Fred Flinstone peddle with your feet
LoL 😅
Toyota isnt crapping their pants! Not over this🤔🤣
Nope
Toyota partnered with NASA for management waste collection to not crap their pants.
According to Scotty, Toyota should be deep in adult diapers by now.

Scotty is a great person with a great personality. It was an honor to meet him. It was fun being there with him talking
Use amsoil and their filter
Great oil and they have the paper work to back up their claims
It’s the best oil out there for your car
Also their transmission fluid is great
Again they will happily give you all the documentation on their products.
Thank you I will check that out definitely
don't bring him chevy
Best Chevy I ever owned was a 57 2 door hardtop with 283 4 barrel. bullet proof
Nice
The 283 was a great engine.
283, 327, 350, 396. All of those in various Chevys I owned were "Great Engines" in great Cars.
Yeah, but you don’t have it anymore for a reason. Care to tell the story?
There WAS NO COOLER CAR than the ‘57 Chevy, 327 4-bbl, dual exhaust, hands down!!
1.3 motor turbo is scary to me personally.
If you need a car for getting groceries, commuting to work, shuttling kids. Seems like a 1.3 will do fine. Driving on 80 mph freeways everyday, maybe not.
Maybe he didn't want to embarrass the owner, who is standing just a few feet away from him.
Golf course engine
What? You can't handle the power?!
@Cybersawz not enough power
What's next, a Singer sewing machine motor to power the vehicle? Smh.
Vespa motor.
I have a singer sewing machine
Put some respect on that machine....
My sister has its sister, the Trax. Almost identical.
But the 1.2 and the 1.3 for such a big car has me scared for longevity.
'yes, i know you granny SUVers and trucks wont think this is big. But a little ford fiesta has a bigger 1.6
Bail them out. Then they move the production to Korea, Mexico etc. We are suckers.
It is our leader doing that to us, it is not "us" .
Probably because Toyota was laughing so hard at this thing. 😂
Scotty is being surprisingly positive... but I think it is because of just how much you get for such a low price.
3 liter V6 without turbos=Durable.
Yeah, it's called a 94 Celica with NO Stupid Car Payment. .
Hahaha. Goofball
I agree you should change every 5,000 miles or once a year whichever comes first, not wait until 10,000 miles
I have an 09 with204570 miles on it right now; at least until I drive away. And I wouldn’t have thought the new ones would be any good but I’ll give them a second look. Thanx for the vid kid
I love it when Scotty said " yundai ".....
Extended warranties are full of loopholes. They almost never cover what actually breaks. If you are going to buy a tiny turbo, EV or a hybrid, you best bet is to do short term leases so you give them back before they fail.
Yes they are a scam, and they will try find a way to void the warranty when you actually need it
Nothing GM makes has Toyota crapping in the least.
I think he's meaning the price but I am probably wrong
I live in Michigan, I hope GM gets it together, a good start would be to get rid of the DEI hire running the company.
Toyota not all that I hate to tell you
@@JAKPMwhy not just admit that you’re a sexist?
@@blakestebbe7937what da?!
I like Scotty but nope. Like I want to be tied to a chevy dealer with the extended warranty just for them to find an excuse not to be covered. Now Scotty likes tiny turbo engines? Please.
Scotty is a salesman first
I just drove a friend’s brand new Trailblazer last week and I was impressed! Also AWD and powered by a 1.3 and 9 speed tranny. His is the base version with 17 inch wheels. And it gets good gas mileage. The engine automatic stop feature doesn’t seem to work if you have a/c on which is great! Two weeks ago, I drove a Corolla Cross loaner which I didn’t like. As much as I like Toyota products, there is no way I’d buy that Corolla.
My friend spend 30k on one and at 15k miles is already burning oil....... It has that puny 3 cylinder engine
OMG. Scotty is becoming a Korean car fan boy! 😱 What is this crazy world coming to?!
I mean he hasn't generally had an issue with Korean made stuff, has he?
Don't worry, he will bashing on the car in a few videos. Usually tries to praise the cars when he gets them then rant about how bad on following videos
If Toyota keeps pumping out Turbos, he's going to be talking about the non-turbo Korean cars more and more.
A lot of grey comments. Of late !!! This Ford is so good. This GM is so good. And 12 months ago he was on their hitlist! Crooked money straightens anything. I need a huge amount of convincing to alter my view! Because I have been following Scotty. Staunchly. For years. The change is as clear as crystal. Where there's smoke............................. And you are not alone in noticing it! Have a great day!
@@mikemonahan8968 yes
I took the 1.2 coupled with the CVT as a loaner. The CVT lag plus the turbo lag are annoying but when the boost quicks in it really goes on.
I bet the head of Toyota isnt worried about crapping his pants.....it all DEPENDS
Wow first time I hear Scotty with positive Review on a Chevy.
I like my CX-30 better. Just took it out of the garage for the first time this year. Only 5400 miles on it.🏁
1.3l turbo engine? You must be kidding 😂
"Ah C'Mon Man"
yeah but it's 3 cylinders so it has bigger pistons lol
It's like riding a lawn mower...1.3...crazy
I see a lot of late model Chevy's all round northern Kentucky since there is a large Chevy Dealership, in Florence, Kentucky, that really stands behind their products and supports their customers. Tom Gill Chevrolet does all they can to make Chevrolet a good brand experience. I have to respect that even though I buy only used Toyotas and Hondas that are good for second and third owners, while Chevys are mainly good for the first owner, buying new.
Thank you very much for the review on the Chevy 2024 Trailblazer. Might be interested in it especially for a loaded vehicle for 28k. We have been interested in new Ford Maverick. But can't wait for the new 15 to 20 k price for the new Toyota pickup truck they are planning to build. I am sure they will sell millions of the small Toyota pickup trucks around the world. I just hope they will sell them in America.
Scotty I have a 2020 Ford Edge with the start / stop and like you I hate SS systems. Watched a video on TH-cam that showed all you have to do is disconnect a cable at the battery to disable the SS system. I put the cable end in a ziplock bag and ziptied it closed. No more buttons to push. No problems in over 2 years driving without the cable connected. .
The Kia Seltos is Made in Korea, has a 10 year 100k powertrain warranty, is $2000 cheaper than the Chevy Trailblazer, and has a bigger engine (non turbo). In short you'd be crazy to choose the 3 cyl turbo Chevy (5 year 60k Miles powertrain warranty) over the 4 cyl Kia (10 year 100k mile powertrain warranty). Both made in Korea.
Maybe
Valid comment about the Kia but I'm still driving a Camry
Yes, the Kia is better and more inexpensive.
Just buy a corolla cross
Nah, Kia will delay and find every reason not to honor that warranty based on passed post and discerned opinion.
Nice rig. especially the red and black, best colors together. very studly!😎
Had a 04 trailblazer. It had 250k miles. The engine and tranny was bullet proof. The frame was rusted away. But it was a beast
nice! i have been considering it too
I have a 2021 Chevy TB fully loaded. Is it fast? No, so I love it? Yes. I don’t drive very much / far- it’s a comfortable ride. Very nice to drive, numerous bells and whistles.
the Buick Encore GX is pretty similar to this as well
I thought that you had said in the past that the small 3 cylinder engines with turbo were junk. I just bought a car on your say so now I'm confused.
Turbo engines have higher cylinder pressure than normally aspirated engines , I prefer the na over the turbo for that reason for a long term car, just an old man’s opinion.
Ancient chinese philosopher, Confusion.
@@marvinjacobs2955Agree. 5psi from a turbo, increases the intake charge. Resulting in a 30% increase in mechanical load and higher combustion temperature.
If you drive a car conservatively and maintain it, it won't just fall apart that soon. With an extended warranty, don't worry. Buy what you like.
I have a 2020 Chevy Blazer RS I love it with a 3.6L 6v it will last a long time.
I have the same and I LOVE this car. One of my favorites I’ve ever owned.
General Motors was the one who acquired Daewoo Motor's in 2002, renamed it to GM Korea in 2011. $28k for a GM Daewoo 3 cylinder, I think I’ll pass.
Nice looking truck but idk about that 1.3l engine carry all that weight
1.3L is a motorcycle engine 🤦♂️
When almost everything is crap, I figure someone has to choose which animal's excrement to eat. No matter, it will stink at about 80,000 miles if not sooner. Just stick with the older, proven stuff. Was never a fan of GM after the $110 heated thermostat or the PCV valve that's a permanent part of the valve cover on the 1.8's. They always had a way to turn a $15 part into a $100+ part. Anything CVT is eliminated as well as smoky Hyundai/Kia engines and black exhaust tips that their dealers say are completely normal. Warranties can be tricky as dealers can say nothing is wrong even though it's rolling coal. At this point, an old Crown vic, Cougar 90's T-bird or a Caprice rebuilt would be my choice.
I wouldn't buy anything made by GM I don't care who or where it is made. Government Motors has never made anything worthwhile.
I thought about why they charge so much for cars because they want you lease them instead of financing or buying it, so when you lease it basically renting it at the end of the lease they get it back or an option to buy them the process starts all over again with new incentives to buy if you're keeping the vehicle. All I say is it's one big scam at the end of the day...
I bought a used 2019 2.0L (4 cyl) made in Korea Hyundai Kona SEL 100% gas engine and adore it. Lot's of options, same kind of controls, solidly built and gets awesome mileage. Looks very similar with the same styling and finishes. A LOT of plastic in these new cars, but with a 5 star safety rating I'll live with it, pun intended.
I had a metro with the mighty 1.0L. I got used to turning off the a/c approaching a bridge and flooring it.
Test drove one of these and loved it (for what it is) except for the price - $42k in Canada for a tiny SUV is insane. Very rev-happy and slow to shift, but all around pretty decent.. probably the dumbest thing you can buy for the money though.
Could you do a video on alternator chargers. I own a Prius and want to know if I will hurt my alternator if I use it. Like a Pecron or Ecoflow. Thanks for all you do!!!!!!!
Man, I would hate to work at the main business office of any of these car manufacturers. Always smells so bad in the executive hallway, what with all of them crapping their pants every other day...
I love that flat bottom steering wheel 😂😂😂
Ideal for fat people. Truly fits an SUV driver.
Scotty is right about the extra warranty for turbo engine and automatic transmission.
Interestingly enough I once got 34.4 mph in my 4cyl Chevy Impala. 2.5L 6 speed automatic. This was on a 250 mile trip.
I just test drove a 24 Trax yesterday, and it has the 1.2 turbo motor with a 6 speed auto. It's really smooth and "peppy" around town.
Sir scotty, i have a question about the automatic transmission, is it okay to put on Drive D while waiting on the traffic light or put on neutral.. some say when you put on neutral it will wear more on your transmission so better put on D wether its traffic or waiting long on a traffic light
Hi Scotty,
What is the best used 4 door short bed truck to drive for good gas mileage
i have a 2002 f150 5.4 4 by4 with 425,000 mi on it . original engine original transmission still has the same transmission fluid in doesn't burn oil doesn't leak oil .I have done nothing to it but changed the oil the brakes just normal stuff like that just recently I had to replace the AC compressor but it runs great and looks good and it has been worked hard to .use to haul concrete
you dodged the 3-valve Triton engine with it's problems then. I opted for the old 4.6 in my new 2004 F-150 because I didn't want to be a beta tester for the 3 valve 5.4 that was new then.
Finally!
A Decent Chevy!
Thnx again Mr. Scotty. Hope you can help here. Is the 2023 Mitsubishi OUTLANDER SEL a good SUV to buy? Is it with timing chain or is it a belt? Is the CVT TRANSMISSION good? I am thinking of getting the AWD. Do they stand by their 10yrs bumper to bumper warr.? And is the 4cylinder 2.5 ENGINE durable? I am 350lbs and wife is just little smaller. Can this suv carry us with out any pressure on the tranny, or engine? I really value your opinions? Ur appreciated all the time.
Scotty, you’re talking in circles!
On one end you say Korean cars burn oil and blow up with their undersized turbos yet you’re standing next to one recommending it?
The Buick Encore GX is similar to this. The all wheel drive model has the 9 speed automatic. Front wheel drive models have the CVT.
When Scotty liked something he goes all out.. agree with him. Sunroofs have no use.. ❤
Scotty I NEED to figure out what the brackets for my power steering pressure hose are called. Where can I find them? I can’t see them anywhere
Looks like Chexy is going in the right direction with that rig!
Actually Scotty I had a 92 Geo Metro with a 1 .0 engine 3 cylinder Suzuki engine. 5 speed 40 + mi to the gallon drove it to 5 year apprenticeship to be a plumber 70,000 MI sold it for 70% of what I paid for it to another plumber who drove it for another 70. 😬👍 Never had a day's trouble!!!
Yup, Suzuki makes great engines. And, very efficient utilization of interior space. Can't wait for them to re-enter the North American market.
Another great video, Scotty! Thank you!
Hey Scotty, did the pine tree air freshener come as standard equipment? 174 ft lbs of torque with about 3,252 lb vehicle weight, with the 9 speed - not a bad match up.
Sorry Scotty, I am on my 3rd turbo Hyundai and put 175,000 miles on them before I trade, no turbo issues.
Looking forward to this car being on your top 10 not to buy list in a couple of years. 🤣🤣🤣
Love your channel!!
Read the fine print on an extended warranty. Especially what is not included.
Everything they give you in the large print they take away in the small print🥴
@@jeanmcchesney5441 👍Yes, I heard that saying.
The 1.2 engine has a wet timing belt that part of the replacement procedure if I am not mistaken is replacing the timing cover. I am reading conflicting things about the 1.3. I have had two dealers say two different things (wet belt vs chain) and I do not see a replacement interval in ProDemand so I am hoping it has a chain. Can Scotty confirm this?
Did Scotty have a stroke?😂 3 cylinder turbo. Nope. Already pissed Toyota turboing their Tacoma and Tundra.....
how much did chevy pay scotty? he not shitting on them this time?!
Someone in my family has been a dedicated Blazer fan for years and years. Always purchased used. Average time to failure: 3 years. I've seen them go through about five of them in the last 20 years or so. Now we should buy Chevy Blazers made in Korea? I just don't think so. "Rolling piles of junk!"
If I want a reliable v8 truck that will last years and years, are 2022s-2023 Chevy Silverados a good truck? I want a Toyota v8 but the latest is only the 2021 which sucks.
What company manufactures the transmission for these vehicles?
In Europe, this is the Ssang Yong Tivoli. The Ssang Yongs are very good reliable 100% Korean cars, made in Korea, with 6AT Aisin transmission and 1.5L T-gdi gasoline engine.
1.3l turbo? BOOM!
Kaboom💥
I recently bought a brand new 2024 Chevy Trax 1RS for $25,989 CAD ($19,000 USD), really hoping you'll get to review one, curious on your thoughts on it. I think for value, nothing beats the new Trax
A Harley's engine is almost as big.
Wasn’t Scotty trashing Hondas 1.5t engine? 😂
He HAD to. They're so "efficient", they can't generate enough heat to heat up enough to keep the high-pressure fuel from slipping past the rings and getting into the oil. I almost bought an Accord with a 2.4L GDI. Those make enough heat... Except I live in Wisconsin, and then I'd have to run it for a half hour before going anywhere in the winter!
... because Honda's 1.5 turbo GDI was plagued with oil dilution
@@alfredgetzlaff5570 I saw a video on YT of a guy idling in 40F weather and the temperature gauge was going DOWN

Scotty, can you show how to clean fuel injectors or replace them. I'm needing to know because I have place the fuel cleaner in the gas tank to clean it that way, but it still not working properly. I bought some new fuel injectors to be replaced in my 2016 Jeep Renegade sport. I've had the Jeep for 6 years now. And so far a Good Jeep. But I need to see the video to see what I need to do. I am a lady but sometimes a lady has to do the job herself. And Thank you if you do make a video of it.
Only natural aspirated engines for me ill never buy something with a turbo charger they will not last longer than a natural aspirated engine
Yup. The only thing I would buy is non turbo. Toyota and Honda hybrids don’t bother me much either but I know it probably won’t last quite as long as the N/A engine.
I had a turbo engine car for 16 years and almost 200k miles. No issues.
My mr2 turbo back in the day drove 200.000 miles without issues. And I did use that car 🤣
What type of engines have a million miles in those Kenworth Semis?
A 1.2 liter turbo is crazy, it's like one of those old time cycle cars but worse with all that weight to drag around.
1.3 liter engine? I think my lawnmower has a bigger engine.
and will last longer
@@user-zh9ow3jz1t it’s 20 years old and going strong!
That 1.3 l engine has a wet timing belt and oil pump drive belt. Hope it’s better made than Fords 1 liter engine with a similar wet timing belt that has been very troublesome
Does it use wet timing belt? If so I won't touch it.
Still trying to figure out what a HI-YON-DAY is. 😮😊
You have a right to your own opinion
1.3l AWD comes with 6 speed. All fwd have cvt
The 2024 model only offers the CVT transmission. The 2023 has a 9 speed automatic. Its also AWD.,
This is most likely the Korea Scotty instead of our Scotty. God bless everyone 🙏
Turbo's wear out the engines especially if the engine is so small, don't buy it😩
Do these GM Korean car engines have the same oil starvation issues that Kia and Hyundai have?
Hey Scotty, las I heard all versions of the Trailblazer use CVTs. I don’t know where did you get that it has a 6 spd auto.
just the fwd uses the cvt. AWD is 9-speed AT. Trax uses a 6-speed AT.
Just looked on the Chevy website and found this information (2024-05-23);
if you want the 1.2 motor, you get the Trax.
If you want the 1.3 motor, you pay $3,000 more than the Trax and get the Trailblazer.
If you want the 1.5 motor, you pay $6,000 more than the Trax and get the Equinox.
The Trailblazer is about 4 inches shorter than the Trax and the Equinox is about 4 inches longer. Therefore, you choose your engine size and that determines what car you get.
I'm still waiting on a 100,000 mile test on the 2024 Trax/Buick Envista. I have doubts about their long term reliability.
