    Great insights into the #UX and decisions taken. As I have been working on GUIs for #automotive #HUDs for several years in the past I have always longed for a time when they would go from pillar to pillar. So nice to see these concepts coming to physical concepts now and sooner than later to production vehicles as well.

      So, went from pillar to post for several years but never saw the light of day :)
      Anyway, I'm glad too its coming. Seems logical to have it like that for eyes on the road. Should have been sooner.

    I currently own 3 bmw 's 4, 6 and 10 cylinders and this applies to BMW or any other make : i want to drive a car, not configure a computer with wheels! I do not want a tactile interface, or menus I will never buy such a vehicle

    • @PoisonNuke

      so you will never buy a vehicle again? There will be no brand or car in the future withtout a lot of menus to go through

      The same thing was said about cars during the transition from horses. The same thing was said about cell phones as they started to be more prevalent. Your opinion is your opinion. Time keeps on moving forward, as does invention. You can either embrace it, or you can be against it, but in the end we our opinions die along with us and the future keeps coming.

    Well that cool and all, but perhaps next time you are with BMW and speak with their UX guys you can ask him when are they going to allow users to change the sort order of the quick select titles/widgets on iDrive 8.5 on the home screen. Right now they are locked to a specific order which cannot be changed. It seems BMW really didn't think that through. You could change the order of the titles/widgets with iDrive 8

    Looks very interesting! I love the front end and I think of it as a much more refined and maybe closer to production model fascia. The rear is also very unique, however i prefer having a ducktail rear lip with slimmer LEDs instead of merging them and keeping the Light bar that high. The interior is very minimalist and the HUD revamp looks like next step coming from hyperscreens! The interface display kinda looks very Tesla-ish and I think the vision dee interior suits this digital concept much better by eliminating any unnecessary screens and having a surface touch-based area in the centre console instead. Thanks for the review and early preview @BMWblog

    • @LemonySnicket-EUC
      @LemonySnicket-EUC ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This rivals any Tesla interior. Especially in fit and finish. I have a CT reserved and don't expect any interior prowess from Tesla.

    • @rp1268
      @rp1268 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LemonySnicket-EUC For the kind of money they'll likely charge for this car, it has to have better fit and finish. A model 3 can be had for just over 30k including incentives. Anything out of BMW tens of thousands more. I don't like teslas but the value is hard to beat at their price. That's the reason they're becoming the new Camry.

    • @LemonySnicket-EUC
      @LemonySnicket-EUC ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rp1268 yeah, Tesla is dropping prices big time. Elon plays a different game and in a couple of years it's going to be very competitive and that's a good thing. If the sales numbers don't pick up it's going to get interesting. I hope by the time I get my CT the prices will get lowered like they did here recently. Lots of speculation.

    Looks disgustingly cheap and on par with Tesla’s horrible build quality. Tacking on giant screens while removing hard buttons isn’t luxurious, minimalistic, or whatever corporate cope they come up with. It’s just cheaper to manufacture.

    This really looks half-baked. 90% of what a infotainment system needs is missing. How does navigation look like? How does media playback look like? How do the settings look like? Also, the black bar on the windshield is basically a blindspot. Guys. Good design means aesthetics AND functionality. And don't get me started on the 3D map which is obviously just a video. The actual map rendering technology that can render maps like this in real time for the whole country is probably vaporware and there's not even a team working on it.
