Neil (Spyder) & Pat have been married over 40 years. She refused entry into the Rock & Roll of Fame until Neil was inducted with her. FINALLy they were inducted together in Cleveland - Neil's hometown (Parma). I LOVE THEM!!!
I always admired her so much for that and I'm sure her girls love her even more for it! Martina McBride (who idolized Pat when she was growing up) dictated to her record company that she would only do concerts when her children could travel with her. If they were in school, she was at home. An executive from her record company said she lost many millions of $$$, but she didn't care.
The first time I heard this song I was in elementary school, and I cried. I was raised in an extremely abusive home and to let you understand that I am not exaggerating when I was about 6 years old. I had been left alone and had no food for days. Out of desperation, I climbed on a chair to look for food. Long story short I accidentally broke my dad's favorite drinking glass and for my punishment, I was stabbed through the hand with a butcher knife. I tried to run away from the abuse but was caught, for my punishment I was locked in a closet, with no food, or bathroom, and for good measure so I wouldn't run away again, small finishing nails were placed in the bottom of my feet. I felt so alone in my battles until I heard this song. It helped me to know there was someone out there that cared. It gave me strength to keep fighting. Thank you Pat Banatar for giving this once small girl hope.
Raised in foster care and now mid 50s. This song was my anthem for a long time. I can finally hear it now without remembering the pain so acutely or breaking down into tears. Much respect for Pat Benetar. Thank you for your reaction.
I am NOT lying, when I tell you that this awesome couple, with this awesome song.. SAVED my young life. I know I’m not the only one who believes this. I cannot say enough that Pat & Neil (Spyder) are my absolute favorite musicians and I love that they are still going strong in their marriage & music!! 🎶 Rock On Pat!! Someone was listening, someone cared, someone believed…..
Pat is an incredible singer. I hadn't heard this version before. Very good. Some adlib on guitar. Nice. This version was slightly toned down. There are a few versions, in her younger years, if you really want to hear let go. 🙂. Take a bit of a dive on her. Great rocker, and great with the balled. 🙂
I've been waiting for this one! I thought the lyrics with title would get you. Those high notes took you by surprise. Neil Giraldo, the guitarist is her husband. He does some great work. Check out her singing Promises in the Dark with Martina McBride (the country singer). You can tell she was nervous. Martina credited singing Pat's songs when she was young to her own range.
I've seen her live twice once in the late 80s and once a few years back and that woman is such a power house. You should hear her do Wuthering Heights.
So many hits! Her voice is insane. I've seen her live twice and cried more than once. Her and Neil have stayed married all these years, toured together, raised kids together, that's a great couple right there. Goals!!!!
Ric Flair……..The Wonder Boy indeed!!!! Pat’s husband Neil Geraldo; AKA Spider 🕷️ is a perfect look a like for a young Rick!!!!! I’m old and definitely have seen a few matches with WOOOOO!!!!! Such a heart felt tune from a fantastic band!!!! So says Austin Tx!!! ❤️😎🍸
If you think those vocals were impressive, go back and listen to her in the the 1980s and 90s when her voice was in its prime. She trained to be an opera singer, but gave it up for the love of rock.
Spyder (Neil) is a Cleveland brother and they sneak into town once in a while. We have mutual friends and sometimes they'll catch a Cleveland sports team or something. I love seeing pictures shared. Sadly I moved too far south join them. Love all the guys and their daughter is incredible with her vocals and guitar. They got into some trouble with this song on the radio. A lot of people couldn't handle the truth and cried about it. It's still played today!
What an amazing written song! They are amazing performers!I’ve seen Pat in a small theater and sat on stage with her & she gave me a guitar puck & played my favorite song which is (Promises in the Dark) link below music.th-cam.com/video/6K8BWMDIN60/w-d-xo.html&si=J3IXRrhqbZ5RhEMO
Yea I supposedly fell out of my highchair, I remember my dad shoving me down the basement steps because I wasn't going fast enough. Broke my collarbone.

Between my real mom leaving me with a dad who did not want me, life was hell for sure, 2 broke arms, cheek, nose, beatings so bad, could not go to school for days so the beatings would be friday nights after he got drunk. And him being a cop made it all that much worse, cause no one believes a little liar over a respected cop ...right?
Thank you. I know you have listened to Phil Collins before, for another "protest" song please listen to "Another Day in Paradise" from his 1989 album "... But Seriously."

She stopped singing when she and her husband decided to have children. She wanted to be the one to raise her kids. She is a superstar in my eyes.
She's great for doing that. Her voice stayed strong over the years.
Oh wow! Thank you for the comment

Pat stands about 5'2'' yet when she enters a stage, she OWNS it! 😸she rocks!
She started out singing classical music. She can hit any note there is.
Sending love and gratitude 💕
Pat Benatar breathes fire! One of the greatest rock voices of all time.
Pat Benatar had a six octave range if I'm remembering right. She could SING!!!
Pat, forever the queen of the rockerchicks..❤❤❤❤❤
Pat Benatar is phenomenal!!!
A truly amazing singer and impactful song.
Raised in foster care and now mid 50s. This song was my anthem for a long time. I can finally hear it now without remembering the pain so acutely or breaking down into tears.

Important and powerful..Perefection
My hero, no one matches let alone eclipses Pat Benatar! I always play this song loud and clear in the car; hoping it will initiate a conversation.

This song got me through a lot
♥️♥️♥️
Late 70s = best music. Most music was deeply meaningful.
Powerful, amazing rockin' woman! Love her! The original songs she has are incredible.
Ric Flair 😂😂 good holy hell, this is why you’re my absolute favorite reactor. You’re hilarious while being respectful and appreciative of the music.
🔥
Watch Pat sing in the 80s.
She is at least 70. Looks and sounds great.

⚡⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡⚡⚡
Such an awesome anthem for children who are abused !❤❤❤❤ So sad that any parent would do that to their child!😢😢
Great reaction AB!!❤❤
May I recommend Fire and Ice? Its my favorites of theirs. That and Shadows of the Night
Spider is her husband's nick name
I'd suggest the original recording. This is later in her career when she didn't lay her vocals on line.

You should watch or listen to the original version of this song when she put it out. It's more aggressive

Don't forget Boontown Rats I don't like Mondays or Concete Angle my Martina McBride.
Studio versions are almost always better than live.
Listen to Martina McBride concrete angle that's another song bringing awareness of child abuse

It is just a song dude.
I've seen Pat do this with much more animation... I respect her emoting.. but this feels a bit flat to me, because she just doesn't
