      2WheelDynoworks have been working on tunes. So far with an Akra system and M4 system. Gains are 10-12 horsepower and amazingly enough, as much as 9 ft-lb. Fat power being made. And the tuning is just begun. Modifications to intake and velocity stacks is proving to work nicely. Might be a set of cams showing up later this year, who knows. The engine is liking the mods so far. While the RS660 makes more peak power, that's way up at the top of the revs, and everywhere else the 8S crushing it with torque. Also the RS660 is known to send rods through the sides of blocks, just ask the racing clubs with MotoAmerica. Suzuki will be the way to go in this class. The 8R coming this year should prove to be more of a track machine for the higher speed aero.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I personally wouldn't run the bike without a tune after changing the exhaust. During our time on the dyno we recorded AFR under load with the new exhausts and prior to tuning. The results showed some areas in the rev range that under load, with just the right conditions, can lead to pre ignition or detonation. Neither is good. If you always baby the bike and do not load it up much, your fuel supply guarantees an appropriate antiknock factor always, you don't experience 95+ degree weather, then you should be fine with either....but who can keep all those variables in the safe zone?

    From the Akrapovic site:
    The exhaust has a resonator in the link pipe, giving the rider a unique sound experience, with a racing and vivid tone, while not compromising performance. The plug-and-play installation means no remapping is needed.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That resonator actually uses acoustics to amplify performance in the targeted RPM range so it is more than just a sound modifying device. Although you can get away with using this exhaust without a remap, if you want to maximize value for your money a remap will get you all the potential performance that is there once you upgrade the exhaust.

      KTM stuck with their firing interval from the big 75° Vtwin engines, and made the parallel a 285° firing interval (the same as the Vtwin). Small difference from 270° crank stuff on the market, but a difference all the same. By the way, just for reference, a Harley Davidson 45° Vtwin produces a 315° firing interval.
