Does the 2.5 ltr. Engine with 219 hp justifies the body weight and ride quality. Does it deliver enough power or it fells sluggish? Can you please answer. Because this engine is from Rav 4 and the total weight of Rav 4 is almost 300 kg less than cx 50.

@@jeet0119 I've driven 3 variants of Rav4 and 2 of the CX-5, and I own a Mazda 3 - the Mazda in each case is more quiet inside, feels more planted, shifts smoothly and just FEELS better inside. I have owned several Toyotas and Hondas and I'm new to Mazda ownership and fandom and I am SO impressed by the shift points, HP and fuel economy, not to mention the ease of ownership for Mazda.

I love the idea of going hybrid, but the black fender plastic look too big, also I don't like that they raised the height, this turned me off more than the fenders. I would like to see the CX5 turn hybrid as well. I think that's a more practical SUV than the macho look of the CX50.

  • @scottanthony3426

Save the spare tires! (Points to Mazda. Raspberries to Honda). It will be interesting to see what Toyota does to the next gen RAV4 interior. Even the XLE 2024 RAV4 felt a bit like it belonged in a rental car fleet. Is this the Gen 4 or Gen 5 hybrid system? Sounds like it is Gen 4. (Maybe the new RAV4 will get the Gen 5. 232 HP). I was looking at SUV's and decided this was a bad time to buy (the Mazda hybrid was not available) a SUV as most of them in my crosshairs were at the end of model run. Given I keep my cars about a decade, I decided to wait. Bought the '25 Camry instead and kept the old SUV, which is now retired from commuter duty (except deep snow days) , plus occasional light towing, and carrying large cargo. Seems like a good mix on this Mazda - hope the handling stays close to the old CX-50 (factoring in the raised height for the battery). Can't help but think that Toyota has an ace up their sleeve if they let Mazda have this tech, when they seem to be selling all the RAV 4's they can build. Thanks for the review.
