    Have we finally reached the point when Bublik takes the game seriously? He's definitely built a fanbase (and some detractors) with some of his goofy antics and underhand serves, but has always had the talent to be a top-10 player. So excited for the game if this is the start of the year he puts it all together!!!!

    Bublik made 2 important discoveries this tournament:
    1) When he tries hard and takes the game seriously he is a world-class contender.
    2) Zverev can be lured to the net and passed on a fairly reliable basis.
    Congratulations to Bublik on the breakthrough!

    Fantastic and finally from Bublik, a tour title and what a way to do it against a top 5 player. As for Zverev, it's looking like a repeat of 2019 where he slumped after winning the World Tour Finals in the previous year. He's looking slower than usual and lethargic out there... and hitting so short with low power.

      Zverev looked clunky out there! To far back no real determination shots landing short etc.. time is running out for him, cause he is still yet to proof that he can beat the likes of Nadal and Djokovic and Federer in Grand Slams! Or whoever to win one! Yeah it's impressive what he's done in best of 3 set matches! But I think he needs to step it up big time if he ever wants to win a Slam! At the US Open last year he played good! That was the moment to get that win against Nole.. but no he couldn't, didn't played his best I thought, that bh down the line was still in the locker room or something.... anyways good win for Bublik!..

    This just shows how important it is for your game to have variety. If you look at the big 3 and how great they are from the baseline, they're all still very comfortable at the net. They have top spin, slice and flat shots. They can drop shot and volley. Just all around games. You have to be able to move your opponent around and keep him guessing.

    • @JiraiyaSama86

      To an extent; yes. But from what I can see from these highlights from a technical and/or physical point, I think the thing that killed Zverev is his split step. I think if his split step was better, it can make quite some difference in how he plays.

      Zverev doesn’t have a complete skill set to be a great player, no slice, no forehand no dropshot and he has the feet to chase down dropshots, but he doesn’t have hands like Rafa or roger to do any harm after that

      Zverev playing style is predictable and harmless to players like Bulbik or Kyrious. Big3 are typical examples of being talent, hard-working, and having pure passion alongside. Next worth mentioning are Murray, Wawrinka, Del Potro, Marin Cilic. Zverve is nobody compared to those.

    if I remember right, Zverev never won when he has to comeback or was struggle with the game, except for the match vs Djokovic in Olympic, in which Nole simply collapsed by himself. Zverev can only win when he is up and everything is favorable. He gave up so easily. If we watch Nadal, Djokovic and other true champions, sometimes everything goes against them but they will fight until the end. Zverev doesn't have that and may be he will never be one of them. He may get some GS but I am afraid he can only win if all the best players are out for some reasons.

      @@jonas8993 note really. Look players like Ruud. He barely wins Grand Slam Matches, but he is succesful in 250 events. That is his strong field.

      @jonas8993 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@emmanueljaramillo how many players found a stable place in the top10 while not winning in slams ? 1 or 2? The fact that Ruud was able to enter the top10 while not having performed in slams is basically an exception. That just verifies my point. There's maybe 2-3 spots in the top 10 for players like that, and how many players like Bublik did a great tourney and beat a top10 ? Happens often, so you can't predict when that happens that the guy is gonna enter top10
