- Now people have been telling me to touch...fire? I guess I'll try it out...by seeing how fast you can touch fire in every Mario game.

You can touch fire a lot quicker in Super Mario Sunshine. The pipe to Pianta Village is open as soon as you drop into the plaza, so with a well timed triple jump and hover from the shine lower curved platform in front of the big shine sprite at the Shine Gate, you can enter Pianta Village episode 1 and touch the fire goop left behind by the chain chomplets.
If I remember correctly, there is a campfire next to the stranded pianta on an island, in delfino plaza (next to either the pachinko or the lilypads secret level's pipe that requires Yoshi and the boats ride, i can't remember)
also, isn't there a pianta in delfino plaza that's on fire?

Super Mario Sunshine is actually much faster to touch fire. You can go into the grass pipe secret near the pinna entrance from the first delfino load and there will be fire in there. Or, you can enter Pianta Village from the first delfino load and touch some lava goo if you prefer.
When you realize fire and lava are not the same thing...
Fire is the heat and light emitted from combustion
Lava is molten rock

Uh for Super Mario Odyssey, after beating the first frog section, there is litterarly two fire candles waiting for you to touch that spicy hot burning fire

I'm glad you showed learning about the Miiverse. A lot of speedrunners skip that step because it's 'not optimal' but it's a pretty fun part of the game, imo.
Since Nathaniel did a sand video, it would be hilarious if j0rts did a “Can I avoid touching sand in every Mario game” video.

When I first played a Mario game, my favorite character was yoshi and his Lil tongue, tho I haven't gotten the chance to play in a few years, so it's nice watching someone jump through the different versions

I think the 'fiery substance' in Super Mario Land 2 is actually just...water.

@@austinwanner449 Have you ever seen an animal that size survive falling into water? It's possible but it ain't easy.
You can touch fire in Sunshine pretty quickly if you're willing to do a few fancy jumps- it's possible to get onto the Shine Gate as soon as you're deposited into the island and hop into Pianta Village, where the enemies will trail firey goop.
Isn't there a blocked-up pipe filled with magma just south of delfino plaza?
You can also touch fire in SM64 early by BLJing into BitDW through the castle

As a pyro main, I agree that lava isn't fire. Lava is just liquid rocks, while fire is more high heat fuel

I'm curious about touching powerups. Presumably a decision would have to be made for Odyssey whether captures are powerups. They certainly give you access to powers that Mario doesn't normally have. But there are also just straight up life-up hearts in the game too.

There have been challenges for water and fire.
What possible challenges could be air related? Isn't Mario already touching air at all times, except when he is in Space?
Super Mario sunshine and splatoon are really similar, you've got an inkjet type thing, and in platoon 3 I've heard that big man's boss is definitely based on one from the other game

This was absolutely, 100%, without question, one of the game challenges of all time.
Yeah but this video ruffled my jimmies because he didn't touch fire in super Mario Bros 1 super Mario world in super Mario Galaxy. He touched LAVA. MOLTEN ROCK, which is not the same thing.
Mario now has all 3 starter Pokémon! He's taken the first steps toward filling out his Pokedex!

For Mario Sunshine, you forgot about the Smolderin' Stus on the beach area. There's also a pipe on the cliffs near the cannon that you can get to with triple jumps and hovering..

In Mario Odyssey you could've touched fire much quicker bc at the top of the inside of tophat tower when u exit the frog u can jump into fire
For Super Mario Odyssey there is fire in at the top of top hat tower on the inside you could have done it in 1:30 which is way faster.
0:46 not sure if i would call touching lava = touching fire, specially when there is Bowser fire in that level, it's even more strange that is what you did nit New Super Mario by touching the Podoboo instead of lava

I have to point out that lava is not the same as fire. Fire is the chemical reaction caused by something burning, and lava is simply very hot rocks. Then again, when Mario jumps into lava his body would immediately start burning so I'll give you a pass.

In Super Mario Odyssey inside top hat tower at the end there are two burning hat torches so you’ve coulda just touched that.
