    Wow, 13 years have passed, I just looked at your latest Tallinn video and then found this. It's so nostalgic, all of the buildings, streets, even the trams... I saw my house many times, it hasn't but I have indeed changed and so have you. Thank you!

    Pretty similar to the hansa town Visby on the Swedish island of Gotland. Visby is a bit smaller though.

      +Rob That because Tallin was a member of the Hansa League the city was then known as Reval it joined in 1285 making it the most northern member of the League

    The culture is a mix of northern and central european, prices are about europes average , city itself is actually very safe, of course no place is totally safe, but here even small children walk around alone in the late evenings. Most of the people are very well educated and well read, you can find alot of nature everywhere, alot of trees and forests and sand beaches, the winter is very cold though and the summer isnt that hot either.

    Rick, great video as usual. One question, do Karel and Simon ever hold seminars on videography for people going on vacation. With the advent of tiny, hand-held video cameras, many with 1080p capabilities, I think it would be cool to get a primer from your guys on the best techniques to capture quality footage while traveling.

    @eksiarvamus but there is a significant Russian population in Estonia, right?

  • @eksiarvamus
    @eksiarvamus 13 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    actually I'm surprised to see matryoshka doll costumes walking the streets of Tallinn. It's just too random, the only reason for there being a market for these dolls in Estonia is that foreigners are to ignorant to see the difference between Estonian and Russian culture and buy them because they are near Russia and think these are part of Estonian culture aswell. It's like selling Swiss knives in Munich - they are from a close place, but have nothing to do with the local culture.
