Love the ' old style" TV travelogues. With an Anchor who has done his homework and knows how to present facts compellingly. Such a respite from those dizzying handheld gimbal mounted cameras that just zoom past everything- both literally and figuratively. A place needs to be savoured, taken in with all senses to get to the core. This takes time and a static camera :)
Stockholm is very beautiful and friendly city. We stayed at Scandic hotel directly across the street from central Station. This allowed easy access to all the museums. Walking the city was very fun and great access for walkers, bikers, and often electric autos.
Stockholm is absolutely beautiful. I think it is the most underrated city in Europe. The streets are so clean you could (almost) eat off them. The people are friendly and speak better English than most Americans. I've been there twice and look forward to going back one day.
This channel's videos should be a mandatory watch for any children around the teenage years. Each video is presented with the utmost care and contains the most important knowledge. Well done Mr. Steves.
I love how these European cities have large squares and gardens for people to just hang out and socialize. Just meeting new people all the time would be fun.
Who ever lived there is a lucky person to have been in such a beautiful place...you could have been stuck in New York City. Thank you for showing me this beautiful country.
Even being filmed over ten years ago, I'd say it's the best travel video I ever seen. No showing off , very good information presented with an intelligent good humor! Hope to watch other videos and travel from home... thank you.
Rick Steves' travel shows are excellent, almost ageless; professionally written, produced and filmed, no cutsie inane small talk or look-at-me moments. Some YT vloggers are good however the lack of training, writing skills and professionalism weighs on the nerves, are winging it and it shows.
After you visit Stockholm, you should make a trip to Gotland. Its a very unique island in the middle of the baltic sea where u find a great medieval festival in the beginning of August, every year! it has a big city wall and wonderful unique landscape. It is also possibly the orgin lands of the Goths.
My first time ever in Sweden was so espetacular! I had a plenty of good expriences. probably, I will go back as soon as possible. Although I live in Rio de Janeiro, which is considered one of the most beautiful city in the globe, I would live in Sweden forever! Congratulations for the so organized video!
Rio de Janeiro is a great city, I used to live in Brazil so I have a very special feeling towards your country, I got to spend a weekeng in RJ and I really liked however it wasn't as impressive as I was expecting it to be, I like SP better and as for Stockholm I went there in 2013 and it's beautiful, I would live there forever too.

What a nice video of my new hometown! It´s not as big as my native hometown of Buenos Aires, but it´s way cleaner and more stylish. It´s by far my favorite european city, and not only because my husband is from there, but also because of the relaxed but orderly atmosphere, the clean air and water (You can actually take a swim in the middle of the city without geting sick if you want) and the general friendliness of the citizens! Viva Estocolmo carajoooo!
+Carmen Villamajor I'm glad you like it! I'm originally from Stockholm, but currently living in Gothenburg. Have you ever visited Gothenburg/Göteborg? I would really reacommend it. If you think the people in Stockholm is friendly, then you would be blown away by the hospitality and generosity of the citizens of GBG (common as short for Gothenburg, just as STHLM is commonly used for Stockholm).Although i hate to say it, but Gothenburg especially has become alot more unsafe to live in. I live in Biskopsgården ('The Bishops Yard' in English), an area made famous, or notorious is more like it, due to all the murders and people going postal with AK47s. Who would have thought Sweden would be the place to get an AK47 for a few quid less then £1000 (don't ask me how i know the price-range lol). Unthinkable just 20 years ago, sadly. All thanks to the cheerished multi-culturalism we all embrace, or face charges of racism and hatred towards people of color (in Sweden Islam is a skin-color and therefore it's racist). I bet if they just changed the name of the area to 'The Imam Yard' instead things would work sort itself out eventually. Jokes aside, you should really pay a visit to Gothenburg if not for the beauty of the city, then just for the hospitality of the inhabitants alone., Cheers!

We would like to thank you for one more great video! We are happy to see many places we have visited in May 2017 while travelling from Turku (Finldand) to Stockholm (Sweden) by cruise and it was an amazing experience. We spent a couple of days in Stockholm and we were luck to get some good tips from a friend of ours that is Swedish to visit the city, including not only the old town, but Skansen Open-Air Museum, Drottningholm Palace and specific places as House of Nobility and Vasa Museum. Feeling nostalgic :-)

Rick Steves is the G.O.A.T
I think that's the issue with modern culture is that it's too fast paced.
I am just obsessed with these TRADITIONAL style vlogs. Please just keep making many more.
Actually I loved it more in comparison with the today's vlog standards. ❤
Sweden sure is spectacular. Huge respect from Denmark to Sweden 🇸🇪🇩🇰
