Actually Assam is being riverine state with high torrential rainfall, every year facing flash floods thats lead to major erosion of pristine cultural religious island with extensive bio diversity. Its always in nature wrath as many massive hydro projects are coming up in Chinese province where Tsangpo ( Brahmaputra known as in China) flows. So protection of this heritage island is another challeng for citizens of Assam as well as Govt of India.

Further south they combine with another mighty river, Meghna, and flow into the Bay of Bengal. The meeting point of the Brahmaputra and the Ganga was the home of my forefathers before we migrated to India.
Sadly you did not visit Nongkhnum river island in Meghalaya. You miss the beauty of the waterfall and valleys. Make sure you visit next time you visit NE. Stay safe. 😊🙏♥️
