I just bought one of these euro LT 4 string...... mine's red....... WOW! what a work of art! I have several Fenders and they are way cool, but this bass whoops!! Makes my Hartke stack sound great! Makes my Ampeg SVT 800W sound great! What a guitar! Worth every penny! The neck reminds me of one of my 1979 Rickenbacker 4001's!! Nice slim neck and great action and sound!! I love it! BUY ONE BEFORE the damn war crap kills the market.....these guys come from the battlegrounds in Europe!
Great review!Tthe Barts and DG pre sounds excellent combined. I have 3 earlier (1990's) Czech made Spectors that have EMG pups and pres. Even with completely different electronics, it still has the tone Spectors are know for. I agree that the build quality is top notch. It should be noted that luthiers from central European cpuntries have been building top notch quality wooden instruments for many generations!
Spector growl i have a legend 4 with a tone capsule with 18 volts running through it well its at the luthiers still as i was having the battery box put in loved the tone but wanted more headroom for the pre coming from the emg hz soapbars cant wait to get it back in the am..
This is such a well produced review, but I don't understand why there is no demonstration of the pickups and preamp. He even describes the Jaco J pickup sound with out an example. Why not show and not tell? It would especially be great to see more about Darkglass Pre because it is novel for Spector in that includes that ability to cut and not just boost. I have been searching for someone to demonstrate the is bass with some highs rolled of on the P pickup; guess I'll have to keep looking. Thanks for taking the time for this anyways.
The only Spector basses that come from the Czech Republic that don't offer the ability to cut as well as boost the onboard frequencies is the Tone Pump. Spectors basses from the Czech Republic that feature(d) preamps that have the ability to cut as well as boost the frequencies are made by EMG, Aguilar as well as the Darkglass. So that concept is not new to Czech made Spectors.
@@crazeyjoe Not accurate. Spector info on the Tone Pump has been incorrect on their site for the longest time. There is actually some cut to bass and treble (not a lot, but it's there). Just look up BP-4 preamp, the correct specs are on the manufacturer's site (Czech company).
There are some (On - Board) pre- amp's for electric bass - and some pedal "pre-amp" boxes that are "Zero point at twelve". So as one can cut or boost. I believe this is a very sound strategy. Especially with electric bass. To take out the very low end that is "Rumbling" the stage is a very nice feature...
I purchased one from American Musical Supply and after trying it out for 5 days sent it back . I also tried the euro 5LT with has the big soap bar Barts with dark glass pre amp . Between the two basses the euro 5LT is far superior in tone . The only reason I didn’t keep the euro 5LT is the 35 inch scale which I found uncomfortable.. also the Euro 5LT neck has chunky neck . The positive is it was lightweight cause they weight relieve wings on bass . The 4 string has p/j configuration and didn’t has the deep mojo the euro 5LT had . If not for the 35inch scale I would have kept euro 5LT it’s beautiful bass . I just purchased Warwick BO5 and a dark glass BK7 pre amp pedal . Now I have versatility to either play my thumb bass straight into amp …. Or run it thru darkglass micro tubes BK7 . I’n summation the euro 5LT is a slappers dream it plays like butter and the action can go so low you barely have to exert any pressure to play . The bass damn near plays itself
Try an Alembic sometime since you seem to have some cash to invest. I guarantee you will be blown away, except the Alembic weighs a ton! Great sound and lots of switches.....
My only beef is include a case FFS....I just recieved a custom one of these...it has a Teal fade top...quilted...and Aguilar pickups with the darkglass pre....if you check around they will do limited run customs...
It would sound the same as in the video, except muddy and undefined. Plenty of fender type instruments on the market to put flats on, but not this one.
Has anyone found the volume control frustrating? I love the look and the sound of Euro LT, but it would seem that you'd have to 'reset' the tone of the pick ups each time with the volume, or am I confused on how these work?
Hell of a bass, and half the price. Sounds like my old '86 NS2, which I sold because it was too heavy. These are lighter? Hmmm. My local dealer carries these. I feel GAS coming on. :)
Get yourself a Fender P Bass. It will be nice and low......no twang at all. This is not a watered-down version of a bass made for background country music!
Undeniable Spector sound!!
I absolutely LOVE my Euro, but man, this is probably the most beautiful one I have seen!
thanks for watching Joe.. We thought this particular bass was awesome.. Thanks for your comments, best wishes, BGR

@@BassGuitarReview thank YOU! Love your reviews!
I just bought this exact bass. Found th I s review afterwards. Lovely review as and that you for playing different styles and talking.
I like Spector basses. They have that "New punchy metallic" type of sound. Lot's of sustain as well.
I think I’m buying one of these tomorrow. But mine has the EMG and tone pump config.

Amazing as always
superb demo.
Really wanted a purple euro
That big SubWoofer magnet ontop of the Darkglass amp makes me uncomfortable
can't decided which color to buy lol
Love to get my hands on a 5 string.....
How aquireable is a left handed version, to Australia...
Anyone?
No one's going to talk about that chord stretch from 3 to 5 to 7--all held at 3:24?
ive seen lots of bass players that can do 1 to 5 stretches on a 35 scale bass. its cool of him of course but nothing to be surprised imo
@@mmmn7016 It's not the reach that amazes me so much as he can hold all three notes across that range.
@@krbmsw practice!
@@bluesbassman5838 every day, brother.
What's with the open A? Something wrong there, maybe the nut groove too big, too much vibration.
What I think? I just ordered one...
beautiful instrument ........wow
Spector vs Warmick Streamer? Can you do comparison?
Spector all day, everyday.... unless you are a warwick bass fan!

They just sound thin to me. and lacking in character.
