I'm so happy to hand the bass videos over to Lee #2! Its in much better hands with him & Nathan making them. If you miss me, you can still find me in lots of guitar videos ;)
I’ve owned a Spector NS-2J since 1983, one of the best sounding and playing basses I’ve ever owned after 53 yrs of bass playing. I’ve also owned P and J basses, Alembic, Gretsch , NS, Taylor, Lakeland, Musicman etc. All great basses with different sounds and feels.. Thanks for the vid.
I have a Spector Rex 5 string. This is my second one actually. This one I currently have is the Trans Black. i owned the HoloFlash one a couple years back. Both excellent basses with that monster Spector Sound.
Remember the time when in TH-cam most reviewers made the lousiest reviews with people that didn't even know how to play¿ But then chapters appeared at andertons making some of the best gear reviews fast forward to 2017 you have capt lee with his gang of badass musicians
Every once in a while there will be a Spector on the used wall at my local music store. I want one bad, but never have I seen one used in serviceable condition. Spectors get loved real hard for years and start to fall apart, high end and low. The neck joint is also where weird stuff happens, like the neck warps in the pocket and causes huge gaps (seen this multiple times). Hopefully they've fixed this because Spector is awesome.
How do you play like this? Been playing bass off and on for about 18 years!!! I can groove like this in my head but I could never bring it out on the instrument...I practice scales and stuff but I just can't lol
They learn the modes of the scales. I am still trying to get there and I have been playing for 40 years. I usually just learn other peoples songs by ear so I never had to learn the theory but if you want to write or improvise it really helps to learn the theory.
If you are going hi-end, have you looked at maybe stocking touch guitars/Chapman sticks/Warr guitar style instruments? No music retailers sell em, doubt any other is big enough to sell enough to make it worth while for them... Might be something to look into!
One of the things that makes Rob and Lees videos really good is that they’re way different players. Rob is the metal guy and Lee is more of the blues guy. This video was good but this series would be way better if you had a jazz/funk player and a rock/metal player. I think both of the bassist in this video did a good job but I’d like to hear more of a rock perspective.
The lowest priced model in this video is the Legend Classic" model. There is an even lower Priced of the Legend series, which is the "Legend Standard." The entry level/lowest priced model is the "Performer."
at last two good bass players , i got old Mayones bass . play amazing coz is build in family era of company . i Just want to say then i start play a thrash band all bass think is need new idea. nice will be hear some pick sometime . love you channel :)
Love your videos, you guys are absolute legends. But if you allow me to do a small comment: the voice sound profile changed, and it seems to me a lot more "colder", hope you understand what i mean, but I instantly felt less "invited" to watch the video. Watched the whole video now. Still feeling the same. Keep on the great work!
As stated around the internet (Direct from PJ Rubal...) "The truth is that Ned designed the NS curved body shape for Spector in March 1977. This was Ned’s first musical instrument design, and an instant hit. Warwick came on to the scene in 1984 with their Streamer bass, an obvious ‘version’ (ok, rip off) of the now very popular Spector NS. When approached by Spector, Warwick did agree to and did pay royalties (for a while) to Spector for their error. Stuart sold Spector to Kramer after that. Warwick stopped paying, Kramer chose not to pursue them." Hope this helps. :)
Toxic Potato Not my words, but the facts are out there... Spector simply was founded first. everyone is free to choose what you use and what you love... I personally gravitate towards Spector for my needs, so I've already made my choice. Warwick is well made, and a lot of people use them... I just personally enjoy the Spector experience more. :)
Steamer aptly named for being a steaming pile of shit. No respect for theft of originality. I've played both Spector and Warwick high end models and there is no comparison. Spector doesn't need to expand their offering because they have what people want. I like Warwick's innovative hardware and adjustability, but their body designs are horrible, unique (besides the Steaming POS), but horrible
I had a Brooklyn NS1 with a single P pickup cast in what appeared to be bowling ball material a brass bridge and a Badass 2 bridge. Lost it in a nasty divorce. The lawyers cost money. I still miss it. These new basses are too modern sounding for me.
After all this time, I still can't work out whether it's a deliberate mispronunciation or they genuinely think detent is pronounced the same as détente. The literal translation of détente is pretty much the exact antonym of detent.
Spector Basses are just.... beautiful in every single way.
But they suck.
I'm so happy to hand the bass videos over to Lee #2! Its in much better hands with him & Nathan making them. If you miss me, you can still find me in lots of guitar videos ;)
CaptAnderton disappointed you weren't in this video, but luckily you're over on Chappers' channel today.
CaptAnderton it's not the same without you!
You're much better in fiddling with the knobs.
I miss you Capper but Lee#2 is awesome too!
I wondered where you pissed of to..come back ffs!!
YES! been asking for 2 bass players in this series since the start, thank you andertons!
Stuart Spector does a great job, superb instrument.
I own the Alex Webster Euro signature. The best playing and sounding bass I've ever held in my hands. Love me some Spector.
Lee #2 is killer! keep this guy on the series!
Thanks for the vid.
more and more i love this segment .. and I'm not even a Bass player
Please do more work with Spector! The best basses money can buy!
I've owned 40 basses now, low end to high end, my Q4 Pro is THE best bass ever, soooo easy to play and wow that tone😍
No offence to the Captain but it's great to see another bassist join Nathan and Lee #2 has some great chops
You guys are all monster players and I've shown every musician I know your channel. The demos are priceless, guys.
Spector basses. Just badass!
Very...
holy shit the growl from these basses

Drink every time lee says absolutely
Il% nevr pLay wi th You agin
great video guys. welcome Lee #2
The new video room looks great! :-)
I play a 30 year old NS2. Fantastic bass, super-stable, solid, fast....!
I have a Spector Rex 5 string. This is my second one actually. This one I currently have is the Trans Black. i owned the HoloFlash one a couple years back. Both excellent basses with that monster Spector Sound.
Oh hell yes!!! Love that spector growl!!!!
Remember the time when in TH-cam most reviewers made the lousiest reviews with people that didn't even know how to play¿ But then chapters appeared at andertons making some of the best gear reviews fast forward to 2017 you have capt lee with his gang of badass musicians
6:15 I have this bass, it's brilliant. I also have a Spector Legend Classic 4 and that's amazing too.
An overdose of bite and growl.. and I love every bit of it
Love the new room, very much looking foward to how drums sound in it
also I've just realised I've actually spoken to Lee #2 a few times when I've been to Andertons
I could watch Nathan play bass forever.
Good lord those Aguilars sound amazing in this bass
Great video guys - thank you
Kick ass. You guys are awesome and are fun to listen to.
I really liked that jam at the beginning.
Those colours are wonderful, Spector is tempting me to learn a bass!
NEW ROOM!
I love my Euros! I have a blue Wimbish and a white 5er. Oh yeah!
really suggest you guys check out the Sire V and M series basses, amazing for the money and Nathan would love the preamp, a whole 18V of goodness
I own both the V7 and M7 (fretless) Series 1. I love them! Use my V7 live almost exclusively. My other bass of choice? My Spector NS 2004.
Every once in a while there will be a Spector on the used wall at my local music store. I want one bad, but never have I seen one used in serviceable condition. Spectors get loved real hard for years and start to fall apart, high end and low. Gorgeous basses! 😍 I'd love to get my hands on one (or six) of these beauties
The Spector Euro's are excellent basses
Love my Spector! Thanks for the video...
spector 4 euro lx is my dream bass
That 5 string is the ducks nuts. I really need to try one of these at my local store.
This just couldn’t be better.....
.....ever
Pretty nice video, awesome Spector, btw lee 2 nice job! he handle this very nice for the captain lee!
New set, new cohost. Cool
Such a warm sound
damn it, they all sound sweet and lovely, as well as Lee's accent....
I love my Spector Rebop
The non captain Lee did a good job. I miss the funky loops and the captains mildly inappropriate vocals.
that is what matters
That rebop is BRIGHT.
no USA models in the UK?
Great stuff guy's... Funking it up ...nice..
Absolutely!
Hey I’m looking to buy a new bass and idk if I want to get a Warwick thumb or a Spector euro4lx
The Euros and NS-2 are meant to be played with all volume, bass, and treble pots all the way up. No doubt.
Basically a bass based on a bass.
Nice new room!
The first guy I saw playing one of these was Tom Araya from Slayer ...of all people☺
If you are going hi-end, have you looked at maybe stocking touch guitars/Chapman sticks/Warr guitar style instruments? No music retailers sell em, doubt any other is big enough to sell enough to make it worth while for them... Might be something to look into!
theakstonsrock it's whether or not a lot of people would be into them.
What’s the name of the ‘cheap’ one?.. I bought one just like that used but don’t know the the model name!.. 😢.. they never said..
The lowest priced model in this video is the Legend Classic" model. There is an even lower Priced of the Legend series, which is the "Legend Standard." The entry level/lowest priced model is the "Performer."
i wanna see you guys run those kind of high end, mid range kind of bass guitars through a cheaper amp like a rumble 100 from fender
Is the curve for the lower chest for chin strappers.
Why no reviews of the Coda Pro or DLX series?
the new room is cool
I think it's the same room as where Anderton's films "That Pedal Show"
I stand corrected. Thanks for the "heads-up"
i have the same rug!
What about Spector USA basses such as the NS2 Shorty? Will we see them at Andertons?
Since the other Lee loves Jazz basses, has he played a spector coda yet?
Could you please make a video on Sire Basses if you stock them?
if you drink a lot of beer, this is the bass line for you! lol!!!!!!!!!
If you see the sign in the back-left,
Spector + Schecter = Schpector
Love the new Lee! #NEWLEEMASTERRACE
Im a Spector Euro man myself....but those Aguilars sound pretty nice......oh, and stop touching each others knobs!!
4:49 not to mention it doesn't cut in your ribs much if ur lean cut ;)
at last two good bass players , i got old Mayones bass . play amazing coz is build in family era of company . i Just want to say then i start play a thrash band all bass think is need new idea. nice will be hear some pick sometime . love you channel :)
Looking at getting a legend 4 nt
Love your videos, you guys are absolute legends. But if you allow me to do a small comment: the voice sound profile changed, and it seems to me a lot more "colder", hope you understand what i mean, but I instantly felt less "invited" to watch the video.
Watched the whole video now. Still feeling the same.
Keep on the great work!
Looks like a different, bigger room, would give a different sound.
Depends on how they record. If they use mic'd cabinets or DI the room should have no effect on the sound.
I am talking about their voice only sir. The Instruments sound great as always :)
Lefthanded an option?
jensunray1 legends yes and Spector will also do left handed Euros upon request!
Lee #2 bears a resemblance to Jay from RedLetterMedia
Nigel Grant I thought he looked like a fucking hack fraud.
Sweet Lee
Oh Lee #2 not part two ok makes sense now
Lee number two ...
Does anyone know the history behind how these became to look so similar to Warwick basses?
As stated around the internet (Direct from PJ Rubal...)

PLEASE FOR THE NEXT EPISODE I WANNA HEAR SOME LACKLANDS BASSES
WE DON'T STOCK THEM SORRY. And sorry for all the uppercase letters!! :)
Jajajaja no problem guys, but i'll go to cry in my bed :')
You have the ability to make every bass sound the same: trebly,buzzing,thin...
You’re going to sound like yourself regardless the instrument you play so it only makes sense.
Real Heel Ryan so what’s the point then to demo differents bass to point out the differences when you sound always the same?
I believe that the pickup option for the euro models is EMG or Bartolini not Aguilar. Aguilar are on the Legend Neck-Thru model only.
Nate's jamming and Lee is OK, ha ha. Miss the Capt's presence tho.
Ahh andertons upping their game to compete against bass direct
is there still a curved body on the korean legend classic?
Yes! And its super comfy. :)
Enjoyed the korea made ones more to be honest
I had a Brooklyn NS1 with a single P pickup cast in what appeared to be bowling ball material a brass bridge and a Badass 2 bridge. Lost it in a nasty divorce. The lawyers cost money. I still miss it. These new basses are too modern sounding for me.
anyone know the real name of that lee bassist?
amp?
After all this time, I still can't work out whether it's a deliberate mispronunciation or they genuinely think detent is pronounced the same as détente. The literal translation of détente is pretty much the exact antonym of detent.
lee is hilarious !!!!!!!!!!
Do a "sounds like Tony Levin without busting the bank"
Nathan, Are all the men in your family born with "The Dangerous Thumbs"!!!
boumpa boumpa boom boumpa diggy diggity diggity
John Moyer
Nathan King......I only saw one other person who knows who he is.....
Lead bass guitar. I think it’s important to tell people they may never get to that level
