I got so disgusted with all the recalls and alert messages on all meats for our dogs I finally got a dehydrator and started making my own. Thank you for your tips❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this! I just bought a tiny amount of treats that total over $50. I'm now learning to trust myself for being able to feed my pets non commercial foods. Thanks again for this.
You know what I love most about homemade dog treats? Let's say you marketed them and sold them at a retail store. There would be only one ingredient on the bag. "Chicken Liver Treats", ingredients....chicken liver "Beef Jerky Treats", ingredients....beef etc. For my fur babies, only the most natural will do. Thanks for posting.
This was a very thorough tutorial. Thank you so much. Getting to it today. My dogs are going to go crazy. Tired of the incredible prices and questionable ingredients of dog treats on the market. 👍🏻
Still have this same dehydrator, and still using it 5 years after this video! I hardly ever buy store bought dog treats. I make my own dog food too! Check out my dog food playlist! I also have some more dog treat videos.
Your dogs are adorable ..... Thank you for making this I'm always looking for more natural treats for my own dogs as well it's hard to know what companies to trust anymore when every time you turn around there's a recall or something worse going on . I hope you make more like this ..... I also saw the comment below about your gf sending love and prayers to you all
Thanks :) I do plan to make more treat videos. I also have some treat videos from the past, and, homemade dog food videos. Not sure if you've seen them or not, so, figured I'd mention.
Definitely gonna make these for my dog. She loves stuff like this and I could probably bury some of the treats in snow to get her sniffer working more since they’ve probably got a stronger smell than other treats.
I got a dehydrator for christmas and I've been making so much jerky for my pup, her favorites are calf liver and chicken breast Edit: I use the backside of a knife to flatten out the livers, helps a lot with the dehydrating process
Thank you for your video this will really help me I just bought a dehydrator machine, and I will start tomorrow like some people said, you never know what these companies put in their treats. Thanks a bunch
That is so awesome. I have a dehydrator that I have never used. I don't know why but you have now convinced me to give it a go. Your dogs are so adorable. I have 3 dogs and lets just say a bunch of cats. Now some kittens. lol Thanks for the great info. Looking forward to your next video. I hope your fiance is doing well.
Iam getting an Excalibur dehydrator tommorow Will be cleaning out the freezer of older meats Dogs are gonna be so happy Not buying chicken treats for my dogs anymore Thank you for this great idea
Great video. Really well detailed and clear. I am considering doing this for my dogs and my training clients' dogs. Still doing research, but this was a great video. Thank yoU!
Healthier - easy and so much more inexpensive - I will be making these for my dog- but I will be cutting smaller pieces as my older dog can’t chew very well due to tooth loss- thanks for the video!!
Come to find out, literally all dog treats have some sort of sugar added in them. They use it as a preservative, and to flavor it so they can't taste all the other crap they put in them. Which we all know, sugar is a big no-no for dogs. All the more reason to make your own treats. Thanks so much for the video!
Brilliant ! I do got a blue healer and she’s picky on what she eats .. now I’m reluctant or hesitant to feed her the treats I usually buy her and jus learned that it’s not healthy or some have been recalled … hope this works …
UPDATE: I made these yesterday and my 16-week-old mini schnoodle puppy loves them! I made the beef (I used round steak that was pre-cut for stir-fry recipes) and chicken breasts. Today, I am dehydrating chicken feet. They are supposed to take 24 hours. After searching and searching for healthy, digestible chewy treats for my puppy, I am so glad to discover that I can make my own! Thank you again!
You have taught Jack well to not steal food. A lot of dogs remain independent when it comes to that and always try to get any food they can. Lol. Also glad to hear you and your fiancee are doing well.
I’ve been paying $17 for an 8oz bag of dehydrated fish skins on Amazon. Time to switch! THANK YOU! ❤️ Jack makes me crack up when his little feet start skidding on the floor as he tries to be patient. 😂
Yep, for sure! Really never thought about it before I watched your video. Just got my dehydrator today and came back to TT video. Doong some chicken. Never thought about doing livers - those are REALLY cheap! Gonna go out and get some. Thanks again!
Oh my goodness...they are too 😍 thanks for sharing! Just got a dehydrator...have made ground beef jerky in the oven mixed in liver...my dog loves it.. ole girl gonna get some organ meats now too!
Thanks I needed this! Cute pups 😆 your right so much cheaper and healthier. Manufacturers add so much harmful chemicals and unnecessary preservatives that are harmful
Hi, thanks for posting this. I have two labrador retrievers and they love these quick bites. Here in India, we don't get as many natural and healthy options for dog treats. I was thinking of doing this commercially, can you please suggest if this is feasible in terms of shelf life. Thanks again
Just started making my own dog food & treats. My questions are, do you ever use fish in dog food? Do you have a recipe for dry dog food? Love your videos, thanks for your help!
Well, dogs can eat raw meat (I feed raw often). But, when boiling like this it only takes like 10 to 15 minutes for all meats. I judge when it is done by when the veggies are soft.
My Rosie was just diagnosed as diabetic. Everything dog vitsmins and supplements and treats have SUGAR. I bought a dehydrator. I will be trying this soon.
For sure try it! Every dog I have given one to loves them! Super healthy (one ingredient)! I suggest storing them in the freezer if you make a lot; they can last for 1+ years in there. In the fridge, they can also last many months to a year. On the counter, a few weeks. Now, this also depends how dry you get them. If you just leave them in the machine forever and fully dry them, they will be a bit more 'shelf stable'. But, I prefer them to be dry, but, not falling apart.
I leave moisture in my treats because it takes them longer to eat. When they are crispy my dogs eat them in two seconds and have trouble pooping. Dogs salivate when they chew just like humans and this helps us both to digest our food. Keep plenty of water near as well.
Thank you for the video. Where I live we don't have those cuts of meat, maybe because in the province of Québec they use that for making Pogos (in the province of Québec people on the "bien-être social" like Pogos a heck of a lot). Or maybe I don't look enough.
Earthling1984 thanks so much for this. I’m going to try it out in my oven to see if my dogs like it, before I make the purchase. I know it’s cheap, it’s more for the space it takes up.
I wish I could find more organ meat in the area I'm in! Its so good for dogs and its going to great use that way! If I'm lucky im able to find liver in my supermarket but its a little gross to prepare lol but so worth it for my dogs 😂 great video! 👍

The Chihuahua dog melted my heart reminded me of my dog hope you gave them extra treats for being extra good.
Thx a bunch! Gonna get a dehydrator now!
just bought a dehydrator. no store-bought mystery-ingredient crap for Snuggles.
This was a very thorough tutorial. Thank you so much. Getting to it today. My dogs are going to go crazy. Tired of the incredible prices and questionable ingredients of dog treats on the market. 👍🏻

Great video thanks. Good you showed the dogs at the end, so cute. But also interesting how they both went for the liver first.
so helpful and simple. such well behaved doggies
That is the cherry on the cake! Showing your doggies enjoying the snacks! Thanks, Bro!
I dehydrate sprats too, my dog and cat love their jerky treats/food, i enjoy hand feeding them also.
I'm so late to the dehydrating game. Thank you for this video, very informative & my dogs love you for it.
I got a dehydrator for christmas and I've been making so much jerky for my pup, her favorites are calf liver and chicken breast
Edit: I use the backside of a knife to flatten out the livers, helps a lot with the dehydrating process
As soon as I saw those pup faces I had a little chuckle come out. How cool!!!

Good luck making some healthy treats!
OMG...I love your doggies.
Those dogs were going nuts, I think they've had these before. I am so impressed by the love you have for your fur babies.
LOL, they didn't even chew those treats.
The play by play on them eating the treats was the best! Thanks so much for the video!
This is AWESOME!!!!! I spend SO MUCH on single ingredient treats!
What a wonderful video, and beautiful, smart puppies :). Thank you for sharing!

It's a treat both you and your pet can enjoy.
Great idea, with 2024 prices that never cease to go down! Dehydrator!
For real and its way healthier and u know what ur feeding ur pets 😊
I cut the meat when it's partially frozen, you can cut it much thinner then
Great video. Really well detailed and clear. I am considering doing this for my dogs and my training clients' dogs. Still doing research, but this was a great video. Thank yoU!
No problem! This works great with basically any meat, and some veggies. Cut slices of chicken, steak, sweet potatoes, almost anything!
Your dogs make my heart melt ❤️❤️❤️

Your dogs is sooo energetic and cute 😍
Healthier - easy and so much more inexpensive - I will be making these for my dog- but I will be cutting smaller pieces as my older dog can’t chew very well due to tooth loss- thanks for the video!!

That was awesome. Do your pup’s get all four of the treats at once and how often do you give it them?
Come to find out, literally all dog treats have some sort of sugar added in them. They use it as a preservative, and to flavor it so they can't taste all the other crap they put in them. Which we all know, sugar is a big no-no for dogs. All the more reason to make your own treats. Thanks so much for the video!

You for sure can do this with fish as well! Dog treats are so darn expensive. Make at home and save a ton!
Yep, for sure! Really never thought about it before I watched your video. Just got my dehydrator today and came back to TT video. Doong some chicken. Never thought about doing livers - those are REALLY cheap! Gonna go out and get some. Thanks again!

Hey!! Happy 2021. Please make more videos like this.
You know the foods are good for your dog when they don’t have the tears in the face!!! Ur dogs are so funny! Especially Jack! 😂
Great idea. How long to the keep for before they need to be thrown away?
Keep in fridge or freezer. Fridge they should last up to a month. Freezer they last a year+.
As I was watching the video I kept saying I hope he shows his dogs taste testing...aw so cute.
Perfect 🤩 thank you for sharing

I’m making some for my doggos tomorrow.;) we have ground turkey and chicken livers.
Thanks I needed this! Cute pups 😆 your right so much cheaper and healthier. Manufacturers add so much harmful chemicals and unnecessary preservatives that are harmful
You're welcome! Yup, make it lower cost and healthier at home!

Just started making my own dog food & treats. My questions are, do you ever use fish in dog food? Do you have a recipe for dry dog food? Love your videos, thanks for your help!
I have a question on how you store the treats once dehydrated? Plastic bag, brown bag or ziploc or freezer or room temp? Just wondering. Thanks
What's yr opinion on cooking first( as some sites say to do....) to avoid the bacteria problems.....?
Cook before dehydrate? No.
I feed raw muscle meat, organ meat, and bones too.
Great I think it might help them if you cut up the pieces small
Yess!! I’m getting this tomorrow for my dog 😍
Very informative video! Question - how do you know when the different types of meat are cooked? Do you use a thermometer?
Well, dogs can eat raw meat (I feed raw often). But, when boiling like this it only takes like 10 to 15 minutes for all meats. I judge when it is done by when the veggies are soft.

Cool..
T hey enjoying the food they loved food fell delicious real treat well done chicken
My dog as teeth issues. Is there a way to make a "soft" jerky for him?
Thank you for the video.
Where I live we don't have those cuts of meat, maybe because in the province of Québec they use that for making Pogos (in the province of Québec people on the "bien-être social" like Pogos a heck of a lot).
Or maybe I don't look enough.
Any steak, beef, or chicken works. I'd be amazed if they don't have chicken hearts, or, chicken or beef livers.
@@earthling1984 Beef livers, yes of course.
A full pack of chicken hearts or a pack of chicken livers, I have never see that.
I live in Quebec and yes we have all those meats
This was great, thank you so much.xx
Btw, does anyone know how to do this in the oven?
Oven is the same. Just set oven around 160F to 175F.
Earthling1984 thanks so much for this. I’m going to try it out in my oven to see if my dogs like it, before I make the purchase. I know it’s cheap, it’s more for the space it takes up.
The brown doggie with the huge eyes saying im a good boy ❤😂😉🥰
I wish I could find more organ meat in the area I'm in! Its so good for dogs and its going to great use that way! If I'm lucky im able to find liver in my supermarket but its a little gross to prepare lol but so worth it for my dogs 😂 great video! 👍
whatever market you are in ask the person working the meat department, I make all kinds of dog foods and they always have stuff in back!
