3:35 my dads an architect and he went to survey a house to see how they could do the work the owner wanted done on it. He did a normal survey until they got to the attic and there was a small door with that had deep scratch marks in it. My dad asked the owner of the house what it was and he told my dad the previous owners had the house I told the family since the 1800s and that’s where they would lock away there mentally handicapped son. It’s just crazy to see that these things are still here in our modern age even if they are no longer used

My mother and my grandfather knew my father was molesting my cousin. I didn't know it was happening until I was an adult. They just told my cousin it didn't happen, not to make a fuss, etc. I'm really glad my father died a slow, painful death as, once I found out what he did to my cousin, some strange childhood memories just clicked and I realised he was molesting not just her but random children too.
Edit: for clarity. Don't type tired, people.

My aunt(moms SIL) lost her mother to a murder/suicide. I’m not even supposed to know but grandma just asked about it during a supper and is “she had gotten over it yet.” Apparently only 5 people knew and Aunty wanted it kept secret, talk about toxic MILs

"Family paedophile ... no-one did anything about him molesting relatives".
Yeah, I realised as an adult that was going on in my family, my mother and grandmother knew and did exactly zero about it and my mother was actually angry with the victim. Just fracking great.

My maternal grandma tried forcing my mom to abort me when she found out she was pregnant. When i was born, she kept telling my mom to leave my dad and me, and everyone on her side of the family never argued for or against my grandma's choice. When my younger brothers were born, she kept telling her to leave with my brothers only. I learned about this a month before my maternal grandpa passed away, saying that even he never understood why she hated me out of everyone in the family and second only to him, but that i was his favorite and was mad no one, not even cousin told me. I'm the sole owner of his territory in Mexico as long as his mandarin trees are still alive.

    Everyone was sexually molested. EVERYONE!!!
THis is why the next generation didn't have a prayer, because their parent was too blind to what was happening bc of their own abuse.
I was healing, and through family info/writings I found out my mom, grandma, great gran, aunt's, great aunt's were all diddled.
    It explained a lot.

    Current family secret, warning
my uncle (married to my father's sister) is a pedo, my father has seen child p... on uncle's laptop but we cant do anything since my dad made a promise to his father to take care of his sister (that I only met two years ago and was super rude to my family before needing help). I'm scared of being alone at home with them (I know that his wife will cover up for him) living in the flat connected to our house.
Lesson: Family is not always a safe place.
I just needed to tell someone since I can't do anything about it

My uncle (dad’s sister’s husband) stole an appalling amount of money from the church. The guy doing the service at his wake says “We know his soul lives eternally in heaven” and me (I was 16 at the time), my mother, and my 26 year old cousin all looked at each other and the cousin whispered “If there is a heaven, he is in the furthest possible place from it”

Well I'm glad I can relate to some of these story's but I don't think thats a good thing.
Sexually abused at a young age by my brother 4 years older for 8 years, mum gets told by guidance counciler at school cuz that's the law. Mum does absolutly nothing since my brother is over in Canada at this point, basically ignoring me. I was too terrified to to say anything to other family members cuz they are just getting along and not arguing. Am 19 and now my brother is married and expecting a child, my mother doesn't know why I could possibly be upset and maybe wants him to visit back here. I tell her I already filed a report and mum tries to bribe me to not do that. Just brilliant mum...... I can clearly see who you love more despite our action. I refuse to elaborate what he did since I'm still fucked and don't need my mom upset till I have all my shit together to move to the US with people I know online and perminatly live there cuz that is an absolute crapshow and I am ready to take a blade to my wrist if my brother has a girl. Anyways this whole thread is a wtf.

My dad had a family in Florida, got divorced, moved to Kentucky, met my mom. Told her he was divorced with 2 kids on their honeymoon. Keep in mind she was very religious at the time and saved herself for marriage. I found my half brother and sister's birth certificates when I was about 7. My mom told me but said to never bring it up to dad. Later in life I found them on Facebook. My half sister wanted nothing to do with me and my half brother asked for nudes and tried to get me to visit him. Wanted me to stay with him at his place...his tent on the beach. We no longer speak.

When I was around 5, my dad's younger brother moved from Canada to Chicago (where we lived) and stayed with us for a few months before moving to a nearby apartment. He worked at my father's company for a few years before the recession hit and it was shut down, at which point he moved to Virginia to be close to his sister. I thought nothing of any of these events at the time - he just wanted to be able to spend more time with his family! It wasn't until I was a teenager that the whole story was told to me. Apparently, he was an alcohol and cocaine addict who was always near family so they could keep an eye on him to prevent relapse. It ultimately failed, and he passed of liver failure a few years ago. As a kid, I never would've guessed. You never know what someone is dealing with.

My grandmother should be on a sex offender registry. She screwed a student (or a few) while she was teaching back in the 80's. One of which used to come over to their house to pretend to hang out with my Dad, something that confused him a lot because this guy didn't even seem to like him. It wasn't until later he realized that he was visiting to screw his mother, not to see him. She still keeps in contact with this student. But no one else in the extended family knows.

i have two dead uncles, one died to a sickness on his teens, pretty tragic stuff, but it was never a secret.
the other one tho, he lived until his adulthood, and he fell really hard down the drugs rabit hole, the family managed to pull him out from there, but it was too late. he killed himself in a psychotic episode by burning himself alive.
i can tell this really affected my familly since i can see they were very close to him and speak very fondly of him when someone brings him up, but i cant tell they try to not talk about him, i only found out on my late teens from my father, and i can tell he really misses him

7:39, Mom and Sister, same dad. There's a current one of these playing out in my life, thankfully I'm just a spectator. Guy dates girl 1, they get married, guy cheats on girl 1 with, well, every woman he can, and I've heard stories from many of the women he cheated on Girl 1 with: let's just say he got around. Girl 1 and guy get a divorce. Guy starts working at a different store in the same company. That store also employs the younger sister to Girl 1, call her Girl 2, who is estranged from Girl 1. Guy and Girl 2 start dating, get married, and have one child together, atm. Guy is currently cheating on Girl 2, as Girl 2 is a SAHM to their first born, with, well, he's still banging anything that moves. Girl 2 is an emotional wreck, and when she finds out, it isn't going to be pretty.

I've spoken of this story before on other videos like this, but my aunt had a similar story, except it was my great grandpa who commited the crime. She didn't tell the story until sometime in her late 30s early 40s and that's when my grandma (my great grandpa's direct child) also admitted to being another victum. My grandma is currently in her 60s. My mom was always on a lookout and never had me or my sister anywhere near our great grandpa (she was adopted for most of her childhood so she didn't experience anything from him)
As far as I know, he's not in prison but in some kind of secured up nursing home and I haven't seen or heard anything about him since I was 11-12. It was my mom's gut feeling that turned out to be true.

Basically my uncle said that his younger brother (my father) also have good upbringing (less of a harsh discipline, more of a explaination on why you shouldn't do that), as when their minors, their parents goes to work in farm from 8am to 7pm (very common during Kampong day) to earn for family, while the oldest one do part time jobs and take care of their younger sibling.
which made that my father is being asshole for beating me for not talking to him.

Wouldn't necessarily call it a dark secret but I'm the "other kid/cousin/niece" on my bio dad's side of the family. Bio dad moved down to London around 1979 ish. Met my mum in the 80s. She was 19, he was 27. He's also a narcissist. Dumped his current girlfriend to hook up with my mum. They were on and off a lot and it was a very emotionally abusive relationship. So I come along in '92. Bio dad yeets immediately for about 23 years. I get in contact due to Mum's prodding. He doesn't live too far and even once lived in the same street as us when I was about 7. Wanted to forget we ever existed. Of course now, he's all buddy buddy with me because he can show off about what a cool dad he is. Yeah, no. I'm still the spawn of the black sheep golden boy rebel uncle who's just there. Also I'm the one shy awkward nerd while they all fancy themselves as high faluting city slicker wannabes.
