When I was little a box of marsbars went missing at home.
My mom sat me and my older brother and sister down at the dinner table and wouldn't let us go until she found out who took them.
After a long time of none of us confessing my Brother and Sister got tired of sitting at the table and just demanded I confess.
This went on for a while until I was in goddamn tears, I was like 7 or 8 at the time I don't even remember.
Eventually we were let go not because the culprit was caught but because keeping us there any longer would be too cruel.
Years (at least 5) later the entire box was found, in my dad's closet.
Our mom was the one who put it there to hide it from us and forgot about it.
The mars bars weren't good anymore (obviously)
My mother was sincere when she apologized but the apologies I got from my siblings was incredibly halfassed

I got accused of lying about being lactose intolerant.
I wanted to make a cake for my birthday and noticed that there wasn't any almond milk left in the store I was at (the recipe required it). So, I asked a worker if there was any more milk almond milk in the back, and this random guy (who looked mid-30s) butted into our conversation to ask me why the hell I wanted almond milk. I told him I was lactose intolerant and he scoffed, asking me in a derogatory tone "If you're lactose intolerant, then explain to me why humans have gone hundreds of years drinking regular milk?". Taking him up on his offer, I calmly explained to him how my body doesn't create the proper enzymes to digest dairy products properly, and that almond milk is a good substitute for me to consume. He then asked me if "N-Semehs" were scientific, and when I said "Well, they're the correct scientific term, so yes.", he began to scream at me:
"SCIENTIFIC??? SCIENCE IS HOW OBAMA CONTROLS US!! YOU MUST BE ONE OF HIS N-WORD LOVING SATANISTS!! GO TO CHURCH AND DRINK THE MILK GOD HAS CREATED FOR US AMERICANS!!! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BUY GROCERIES HERE UNTIL YOU ACCEPT JESUS INTO YOUR HEART!!"
He then stole my basket, right from my hands, and ran off out the doors without paying. The worker I was talking to tried to catch him, but he ran too fast and got away.
Walmart is a strange place to shop at. Sometimes I wonder if that guy liked my tampons and almond flour.

They start telling me that I'm accused of terroristic threats since I was talking about the apocalyse. Um. No. I was talking about a movie I took my kid to see. Didn't matter. When I was about 14 my red faced neighbor (I think) ran up to me while I was making a fire pit in my back yard and accused me of being a squatter.
My clothes were dirty but I thought it was pretty funny. So I gave him vague responses that made him even more angry and confused before telling him that he was trespassing and I was getting tired of listening to him.
His face became purple and he started yelling so fast that I couldn’t understand him. I took out my razor phone. This was when they were a new thing. Took his picture and said that my parents and friends at school would get a laugh out of it.
He looked at my new phone then through the trees at my house. The color left his face as he realized that not only was I not squatting but he’d been belligerently shouting at a kid this whole time. He ran out of there without saying another word.

I worked at Sears when I was about 18, it was a time when my genetic condition wasn't bad enough that I couldn't work yet but I was having trouble with headaches and nausea. I needed to pay my bills so I just pushed through it to work but my boss accused me of being pregnant and then spread rumors about how I was pregnant and didn't know which one of my co-workers was the father because I was sleeping with all of them... I was not, I was just a happy friendly person... Well when I confronted him about the rumors he yelled at me for being a whore and getting pregnant when they needed me to be functional or some crap and I just left in tears, quit right there. Found out later one of my male co-workers who I was friends with punched my boss in the face and walked out as well. I wish I'd known more back then, I'd have sued. That was horribly traumatic

My boss has literally accused me of losing a client. What did I do exactly? My client was a student with autism and he was high functioning. The kids at his school , high school mind you, were using him to try and Bully their teacher and had him steal all of her pens pencils and writing materials on her desk and other things. Just because they didn't like their teacher for whatever reason but the boys were too cowardly to do it themselves so they decided to get the autistic boy to do their dirty work for them in exchange for friendship. The student literally showed me the pens and pencils that he stole and gave me the reason why which was literally because these boys told him to do it because the teacher was being unfair. I told my boss because it was an after-school tutoring program and I told the boy's mother every time they told him to do something because it was textbook taking advantage of the student who doesn't know better which is a form of bullying. So the parents decided to take the boy out of after school lessons. At first I was a little hurt because I did like him as a student and that means I don't have a client anymore. But my boss literally pulled me to the side and said it was because I was complaining so much to the mother that she just probably decided not to bring her son back. Like this was just her assumption of the reason why the student didn't come back. This was just one of many things I got blamed for as a teacher before she just decided to not call me anymore and within 3 months after she ghosted me she ran her business to the ground that's been around for more than 10 years. Good riddance

When I was in high school, someone painted the entire leftside wall with graffiti top to bottom overnight, as it had a security camera on one corner and even then it was out of order for an entire month. Anyway, I was out of school with pneumonia, and my parents got a call from the police that I was being charged with vandalism. The parents literally walked the officers to my room in the hospital where the cops saw that I was in no shape to even stand up for prolonged periods of time, apologized and left. The culprit was never found out.

Got accused of getting a girl that I never met and didn't know existed pregnant. She was going around my hometown telling everyone that I was the father. I learned this because we randomly met at a gas station and she told me that (my name) was her babies father so she should be able to cut in line. I'm like, that's me. I don't know who you are but I'm not your babies father and you shouldn't say that I am anymore. I was accused of stealing a kids ‘gold nugget’ (the crunched up gold rapper of a chocolate) on Pioneer Day in elementary school. Everyone had gotten a chocolate, and we all crunched up the wrappers to use as currency. Everyone crunched up both pieces of the two part wrapper into one nugget, while I crunched them up separately. A kid lost his, and saw that I had two. He told the teacher (who already hated me for reasons I still can’t figure out) and she told me to give back the gold. I explained how I had two nuggets, and that I really didn’t care about the ‘currency’ thing. She told me to give the gold back to the kid, if I really didn’t care. At that point it was about pride, not the gold. I explained again, very carefully what had happened, and she still didn’t believe me. I had to give one of my nuggets to the kid.
A while later, I brought fools gold to school for show and tell. I put it in my pocket after, and happened to be sitting near that same kid. The fools gold went missing. I knew that bastard stole it, so I told the teacher. She thought I was trying to get back at him for the gold nuggets from before. I never got my fools gold back.

I've been in the banking industry for almost 20 years. For some of that time in 2005, I was in charge of the morning shift at a bank branch. There are a lot of opening procedures that I obviously won't get into for security reasons, but one of them is standing at a designated lookout point to observe any signs of tampering or building infiltration that could've happened overnight. The lookout point for that branch was a flower stand across the street. As usual, I was the first person to arrive. I'd gotten there so early that I'd brought a muffin for a quick breakfast. I knew that no one was coming for at least 10 minutes, so I turned to face the wall of the flower stand and eat with a little privacy. A few seconds later, a middle-aged woman marched up to me.
    Her: What are you doing?
    Me: Huh?
    Her: What are you _doing?_
Me: I'm eating. Look, I've got a muffin.
Her: Oh! I thought you were... Uh...
    Me: What?
Her: Well, it's just that there was was that bombing in London yesterday, and I got nervous...
Me: You think I'm a terrorist.
    Her: You looked suspicious!
Me: I work across the street, and I'm waiting for my coworkers. What, did you think I was going to bomb a flower stand?
    Her: I've gotta go-
Me: Yeah, you have a nice day.
I'm Filipino American, so I look _just_ "exotic" enough for some people to assume I'm a foreigner or can't speak any English. I'm used to that. But that morning was the only time anyone has ever accused me of being a terrorist. I hope that woman learned to chill out.

I was eight years old; and a lady who lived in down the street was informed by a non-friend of mine that I had tortured her cat. Like some seriously messed up stuff. I don't know what happened to the cat, but she apparently had to drop some money at the vet. I showed up to her house to ask to play with her son, and she just tore into me. "Well (non-friend) said he saw you do it, why would he lie?!" Because he and I had a genuine beef that literally split the neighborhood kids into his side and mine, maybe?! (I honestly don't know what our deal was, he just decided that I'd be easy pickings I guess, I moved away four years later and don't care.) She was going to march me home and tell my parents, and they'd have to pay her back, and maybe she'd have to press charges. Well the whole walk home I'm telling her that I couldn't have done it, and if she'd just let me explain... She just told me to shut up (and literally did the hold me by the ear thing the whole way).
We get to my house, and my mom comes out on the porch asking what I've done now (I never said I was a perfect angel), and this lady just lays out the accusation and demands that I be held accountable... My mom might actually be able to lay claim to having seen it all (I'm the second youngest of nine kids, she has experience), so she just asked "When was your cat hurt?"
Lady: "I had to take it to the vet three days ago."
Mom: "And these were fresh wounds?"
Lady: "It was still bleeding!" (Sidenote: poor cat)
Mom: I'm real sorry, but it definitely wasn't (me)..."
The lady shifts to that "you're just protecting your kid" tone (If it was true, my mom would have crucified me. Then given the leftovers to my dad to be ground into powder).
Mom: "You see, we just got back last night from a two week road trip to a family reunion. He's not been more than 100 feet away from me for the last two weeks."
The lady just sputtered, and said she'd be back when my dad was home from work. He told her the same thing.
TL;DR I was falsely accused if abusing a cat, had a rock solid alibi of being 2000 miles away.

My sister was friends with this black bouncer who worked the best hip hop/rnb/african nights all over town. One night he invites her to an after party and she lets me tag along. Anyways, half way through the after party he gets a closer look at my face and goes on a looong tirade about how my nose isn't real, I'm ashamed to be black, I got nose surgery, I'm trying to look white, I'm a traitor... It was unexpected and kind of funny at first for me because I thought he was just trying to make jokes and break the ice. But then he dragged it out forever and seemed really personally offended and even disgusted. He basically started discussing politics and gender roles because of my nose. It was awkward as f**k too because we were hanging out with his hype black panthers-esque crowd. And this bouncer doesn't even drink or smoke so this was all a stone cold sober conclusive observation for him. I've been told I look mixed or Indian before. This happened when I was 18. One day when I was living with an ex-friend, I had one of my bag of items in her drawer, which she let me put there. When I looked inside it, it seemed like I was missing something from there. So, I started looking for what I thought I was missing quickly so she doesn't find it in her stuff and get mad at me for misplacing it (she was serious about cleanness and would get mad easily) by seeing if I had mistakenly placed it in one of her other drawers. So I'm looking through the drawers, not taking anything out, just trying to hardly move anything and look for the item. She all of a sudden walks into the room and goes next to me, looks at me straight in the eyes and say seriously and aggressively "I'm going to beat your fuckin ass". Being autistic, and abused by past friends, this REALLY shook me. She said this all the time, but this time she was more serious (Yeah, I know she was a bully that took things out on people who were her friends and I never should of affiliated with such a fuckin idiot) and walks away. I'm just like WTF???? Later on after the friendship broke off, the other ex-friend sent me a long, bullshit message, and then said I tried to steal from the other, which made me think she was talking about that incident. Thing is, the first one didn't even ask me what I was doing. Before this, I never once gave her a reason to make her think I was interested in stealing her shit. What the real kicker is tho, is before that incident SHE, and the other stole bracelets from a beach store when my mom, sisters and I, took them there, risking my family getting in trouble. So SERENA, the only thing you ever had that was worth stealing (that you didn't steal yourself) was weed, and you know goddamn well I paid for that shit!

Then I said "And friend B is your doctor. You just saw him at the office this week. Why would you keep going to him if you really thought I was sleeping with him?"

"You've lost your fricking mind!" I yelled.

When I was in eighth grade, a girl at my school (but in fifth grade) got cancer, and the whole school rallied behind her. We held fundraiser for her, sent her sympathetic messages, and so forth, and it was really great. Now, for some background: it was fairly well-known by my classmates that my family and I attended a church that was (and still is) extremely anti-Catholic. and a fair number of my teachers and classmates were Catholics. Generally I got along with them well, but during one of the fundraisers a rumor emerged that I had made snide comments about the students participating because some of them were Catholic. I had never said anything like that, but I did from time to time make anti-Catholic remarks in class. Not only did this give me trouble at school, but my own family also disapproved despite the teachings our church was drilling into us. This continued into high school until I finally got a lecture at home about why it was wrong and un-Christian to say those things. (The irony in all this is that my hometown was founded by German Lutherans and much of it remains Missouri Synod Lutheran. For those who don't know, the LCMS, like the church I attended, teaches that the pope is the Antichrist, but they generally reserve their criticism of Catholics to their theology rather than their faith or salvation.)
Now before anyone asks, I am still a Christian, but I believe that demonizing Catholics (or any other denomination) is totally wrong and out of line with what Jesus wants from us.

@@amyschnoor1979 My uncle is an LCMS minister, and while they don't generally publicize it, their official catechism says that the pope and his office are the Antichrist. On the other hand, the denomination I grew up in (Seventh-day Adventists) routinely declare in public that the pope is the Antichrist and that the Catholic Church is the whore of Babylon, though they don't have it as an official doctrine. They also frequently (but not officially) teach that Christians who worship on Sunday instead of Saturday will receive the Mark of the Beast and will hunt down Sabbath keepers to kill them in the tribulation. So yes, they talk a lot about how all other Christian denominations are wrong, apostate, and the harlot daughters of Babylon.

An officer said her mother hadn't specified. I told the officers about the conversation we had and that I had no idea where my friend was. I also told them my friend had told me a couple times that she had been abused and I had seen bruises on her. Then the police left. Knowing I was a poor student at the time, she called me a cab and paid for it. I lived very close by so the ride was only $10...so basically she twisted the story to make me look bad. That same babysitter accused me of perving on her son who decided to whip it out and pee in the middle of the street and we all where like wtf? She also accused me of stealing batteries. I actually took out dead batteries from her sons toys so I could find working batteries to put in them, but of the weird shit she accused me of stealing was definitely why she kicked me out of her daycare. She claimed I taught her kids to be savages by riding their push carts with their feet like they were supposed to and teaching them to pee in the street instead of her bathroom. I did not teach her kids any of that because they came those conclusions on their own, I had no part in it and she knew that. I think this all started because her second oldest decided to hit me with his baseball bat so I took it out of his hands and tossed it to the side and apparently he told her I hit him because I got yelled at about it the next day. I’m sorry Britney, I’m not the reason your kids are dongs, you’re oldest son is. I’m sorry for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

A kid at my table insisted that I was lying and no that's not my uncle and if I don't stop lying he'd tell the teacher and I was just "Bryce...why would I lie about a man accidentally killing a family of four being my uncle?"

    I have a few.
Being blamed starting fights with my siblings is high on the list. Spoiler: Twins are cunning. The amount of punishment i got was meh. Learned later my mom discovered around my 13th they were provoking and then pretending to be innocent. So punishments went down by quite a bit after that.
Second, biggest one, if the girl who accused me actually had gone to school (she might have done, but I didnt notice anything different after she accused) .. girl accused me of being a loverboy. Which I was/I am not. Not the looks, nor the social skills nor the money to become one.

Weirdest interaction i had to this day

Got on a city bus two blocks from home and rode it about 3-4 miles down the road. After I exited the bus, some random woman walked up and accused me of stealing her cell phone. I just told her that she's batshit crazy, and walked away. She didn't pursue me.

I was accused of eating mouldy pizza out of the garbage can in elementary school. In reality, I had taken a half eaten pizza slice out of the recycling bin, and put it in the garbage. And its not like this happened somewhere secluded, this was in the back of the classroom during break. Everyone in the class saw exactly what happened, and instead of being like “no, that’s stupid, we saw what happened, that was josh’s pizza from lunch today, and he’s an ass who doesn’t care about recycling properly” they all decided to believe my accuser.

Stealing a frisbee from a kid at a new church. I had won it weeks before so my mom was in rare form and actually on my side.

Got bullied in school, had the "don't shoot up the school" talk in front of 30 people, lead by the teacher, asking intimate questions for 45 minutes while everyone acted weird.
Saddest part is, if they had tried to get to know me, they'd know I couldn't hurt anyone and have no intention to do so. Why would anyone commit murder? Not only is it against the law of God, there's also this saying: "Treat others, like you want to be treated yourself." I don't want to get murdered necessarily lol.
But as my outsider status persisted after that talk and nobody gave a crap anymore, I assume they want to be treated like dogshit :P Not by me though, I quit that school and started new.

This happened recently but a coworker falsely accused me of spreading a rumor that he may have covid. I never would say that and know full well he doesnt have it. I dont know where he heard it from, but when i told him that it was false, he still apparently doesnt believe me. Im at a point where i just dont care anymore. Let him think that and realize he was dead wrong
